OK so I may or may not of forgotten that there were other authors working on this story. JJ GingerHooves I knew because she mentioned it in one of her blogs. I was reading Role Reversal before I even knew about Fool's Gold I found out about that story via Iryelb. I did not know about it's sequel until JJ pointed it out to me last week.....you know what, I feel like I'm just working my self into a hole and i'm not that good with "these kind" of words to get out if it gets to deep. The amount of awesome with your stories is too damn high!!! That said, I'm loving the side story so far, as well as Diamond in the Rough. I swear, you, Peregrine and JJ write the best colabs I've ever seen! I'm completely captivated, enthralled and otherwise hypnotized by the amazing, enticing, colorful, gritty and down-to-earth worlds you paint with your words. Seriously, The Laughing Shadow, Fool's Gold, DitR, and other's you've written have permanently captured my attention! It makes me happy to know that at the end of a long day, I can come home, sit down in front of my computer and know that the story I'm about to read isn't just words on a screen; they're a portal to an entirely different universe! I think I speak for all of your readers when I say thank you so much for taking the time and energy to give us a glimpse into your vivid imagination. For most, it's an enlightening experience. This is a fun story. Zecora is awesome x) That little paragraph about Luna being the 'Nightmare Knight' makes me want to read a story that's essentially a precursor to this modern day Torani, following Celestia and Luna as they travel and found their kingdom, doing whatever awesome epic adventure stuff they do. That would be a hell of a project though :b But yeah, this is a nice story so far.

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw the name Hans. Seems like no matter what universe he's in he's always helping an Apple out.
Incorrect gun terminology drives me insane. A fifty calibre handgun?! Come on! Just research it a bit, please. What you're referring to is 12.7 milimetre handgun, which is entirely fictional, having been created for Fallout New Vegas, but still! Use the right language please. It's one of my pet peeves. If you wanted a realistic but still large handgun that, you know, actually exists in the real world, try a 48 calibre.
Sorry, just a pet peeve of mine. This story is good and all so far, but that bugs me here, and it bugged me in the original story as well.
This is a good story and all, but I like the Laughing Shadow Better. Still, I suspect this is going be a much shorter story than The Laughing Shadow based on how much progress has been made in comparatively fewer words.
I'm actually rather interested in seeing how you're gonna handle the upcoming conflict between the tribal-royal guard alliance, and Gilda's band of pirates. I mean, other than 'they suddenly stopped wanting to fight and talked it over' it seems like it can only end up more interesting. Also, slightly surprising this is Gilda's band of pirates and not Iron Will's. He seemed better suited to a leadership role than Gilda to me. When I saw her tagged I was expecting her to be a random mercenary or something, not an antagonist with an army of henchman.

As for 2410328, are you sure? As Jack in this story uses a Smith & Wesson Model 500, a 5 round revolver that fires .50 caliber bullets. I know this is a .50 cal for a fact, as a friend of mine is a gun nut and I've taken that thing to the range. Regarding Mac, it's a bit shaker, but his gun is modeled after the IMI Desert Eagle, Mark XIX, a variation of which fires .50 action express rounds.

Thankfully, Merc has already corrected you, but come on yourself. Before you accuse us, make sure you know what you're talking about yourself, y'know? We do do our research. At the least, I do. While, yes, in the Heistverse in general we use a bit of action movie realism in cases, in others we strive to be realistically correct.

This is a side story, so it'll be a little bit looser, a bit more fun rather than serious (though expect plenty of seriousness), so it's not really fair to compare it to TLS. Diamond in the Rough would be a better comparison to TLS, and even then, it's probably not a fair comparison there either.
Still, TLS is a bloody fantastic story, so good on you. Merc is, as always, one of the best author's sadly unknown on this site. Keep supporting the guy, he deserves it and then some.
