Twilight and her friends have been through a lot together in such a short time, but nothing could have prepared them for this.
When Discord, an ancient divine being and enemy of Equestria escapes from his stone prison, it's up to our teenage heroines to seal him back up. But when he steals the Elements can the girls overcome his tricks, or will they fall to his mind games?

Hey there. Sorry I took a while to get around to starting to read this. Anyway, thanks very much for getting the newest story started. Anyway, I DID like the added details concerning the city's roots and the Xena Shout Out in this chapter. So far, it seems a little TOO similar to the canon version, but I know that can't be helped yet. Anyway, on to the next chapter.
Once more, I have to say, great job on the exchanges, action, characterizations and future chapter set-up in all the right places. I have to admit, I really LOVED the detail of the live television news report as well as the added details that make the canon stuff make sense for this universe.
I have two guesses as to how Celestia and Luna know but how they are unable to use the Elements themselves:
1. In this universe, Discord was originally defeated by the Pillars rather than by Celestia and Luna (though one of the Pillars WAS Celestia and Luna's mentor).
or 2. One of them DID briefly turn shortly after Discord's defeat, but the other was able to undoing it WITHOUT banishing the one that was briefly turned. However, the brief turn was still enough to permanently sever their past connection to the Elements/
Of course, BOTH of those guesses could be easily wrong and I admit it.
At any rate, I will very certainly be looking forward to more of this, but will also understand if real world matters need to come first.

I know what you mean. And, to be fair, Twilight and the others HAVE TO take the risk here to get the Elements back, but Sunset doesn't HAVE that excuse (the Elements wouldn't personally do her any good because none of them are bonded to her) and you can't fault Celestia for being a touch over-protective toward her under these particular circumstances. Hopefully, she WILL still get her fair share of the action, though. Bookpony579 and I are working on the details, but that's all I can say without spoiling too much.
