CM: Get Even
Footage plays of X, Zero, Axl, and Octavia as they brutally slaughter the New Type Mavericks of the Jacob Tower incident. This is followed by footage of the group storming Giga City facilities, ending with several video clips taken of the group.
The first was of X declaring, "The Rebellion is working with us."
The second was Octavia. "They thought they had everything under control. They thought wrong."
The third was Zero. "-terminated like any other traitor-"
The screen then cut to Redips, staring out at the viewers worriedly. "The evidence has been gathering for years that the S Rank Hunters X, Zero, and Octavia were growing in power to the point that nothing could stop them. Some feared that they might one day go Maverick themselves and be unstoppable. Those concerns were dismissed as meaningless...but now prove to be true. As can be seen, the Giga City Rebellion was orchestrated by the S Rank Hunters to gain an unassailable base of power through which to accomplish their true goal. No longer content to police the world, they have now decided it is their place to rule it. Before this could come to pass, the Maverick Hunters have acted to take out their base-"
This time the clip that played was Axl. "Central Tower. That's where it all began."
The screen cut back to Redips. "This is a warning and call to all civilians. If you see the S Rank Hunters or any of their Cadre-" Mini-screens showed images of each of those who had teamed up with X and the others in Giga City. "-avoid contact with them and report sightings to the Maverick Hunters immediately. All Maverick Hunters, active and retired, once again we must take down our own. And I call on Repliforce to assist, as there's no telling how much power these...Mavericks can bring to bear.
"And until such time that these terrorists can be brought to justice, I have no choice but to declare Martial Law, for the safety of all civilians."
As the broadcast looped, X slammed his fist into the display. "Dammit!" he snapped as the group huddled in the transport tubes leading back to Maverick Hunter HQ East from Giga City. "Redips has taken everything we did out of context and made us out like the worst monsters the world has ever seen!"
"To be fair, he didn't have to work that hard," Zero pointed out. "We were pretty brutal during the Jacob Tower incident."
"What are we supposed to do now?" Massimo asked as he supported Ferham, her auto-repair systems kicked into overdrive to get her battle ready as fast as possible.
"We have only two choices," Epsilon growled out. "First, we can surrender ourselves and try to win through court of law-"
"And let him get his way?" Octavia snarled out in fury. "He killed my son! I'll rip out his spine and flay him with it before beating him to death with his own skull!"
Scarface' visible eye widened. "I...don't think that's physically possible-"
"He's a Reploid! I'll hack his systems and make it possible!"
"Isn't that playing into his hands, though?" Spider asked worriedly. "I mean, he's trying to paint you as monsters...and that's pretty monstrous..."
Octavia turned a glare on Spider that made him visibly wilt. "I just lost my son...you think I give a damn what the rest of the world thinks right now?"
"Point made!" Spider gasped out fearfully.
"As I was going to say, option two is breaking into Maverick Hunter HQ East, fighting our way to Redips, and finding out why he's smearing you and forcing him to retract it," Epsilon pointed out blandly. "Obviously, we're going to do that."
"Who all is coming?" X asked curiously.
Marino and Cinnamon, both still looking shell shocked and red eyed from tears, stepped forward. Epsilon followed after them. "You all need to go since you're all smeared. I and my Cadre will go as well. Wild Jango has already escaped and is on his way there. Mach Jentra has a new cane, and will be joining us there as well. Incentas is already inside."
"Aile and Nana have set up a spotter base here in the tunnels," Spider added. "They'll support us from here."
"How can you be so calm, Father?" Octavia demanded tearfully. "Axl-"
"Apparently takes a lot after Zero, like we joked about in the past," X interrupted. "He was merged with Tango, and that's state of the art pre-End tech. You really think that explosion was enough to scuff him?"
"But there wasn't a trace-"
A flash of light distracted everyone. "Whoa, that was tingly," Axl said as he staggered a bit, Schrodinger still active. "You okay, Chief?"
"I'll live," Chief R responded. "What hap-"
"Y...you're alive?" Octavia gasped in shock. "Axl..."
"Uh...yeah," Axl pointed out, plainly confused. "The Schrodinger mode has a point-to-point teleportation system with a range of a half mile."
A vein began to throb over Octavia's left eye. "That would have been great to know before I spent the past few hours grieving for your death and planning bloody vengeance on your behalf!"
Axl blinked a few times, subconsciously wrapping his arms around Marino and Cinnamon as they glomped onto him, once more weeping though this time in relief. "...I'm in big trouble, huh?"
Octavia nodded. "As soon as we deal with Redips, you are grounded mister!"
"I'm a full fledged S Rank Hunter!" Axl complained. "I'm too old for you to ground!"
"I'm still your commanding officer, and I can confine you to bed arrest for a month for not disclosing important information in a timely manner!" Octavia snapped back.
"Bed arrest?" Axl asked, confused.
"It means unless you're actively on duty, you stay in your quarters on base on your bed," Zero explained.
"Is he allowed visitors?" Cinnamon asked hopefully.
Octavia glanced from Axl's suddenly nervous expression to Cinnamon's hopeful one and Marino's wickedly eager one. "...we'll see how he performs against Redips."

Hmn, I have to wonder just how much control or influence Redips is really going to have over the Maverick Hunters and the Repliforce in this conflict. Our heroes that were just declared outlaw have a lot of long-term personal connections to all of the above, shared through shed blood and family ties. Plus, there's what's her name the eldritch abomination mech, I really doubt that she would just accept this at face value, and if she doesn't she's a huge potential loose cannon.

This is a Core group of maybe a Dozen or so Reploid (plus PWNY) who could take on Armies, not counting friends and acquaintances who will stand aside because they trust them more than Redips.

Because by announcing this to the entire world and making taking them down a regretful action on his part, everyone who was already afraid of how much power they had will start yelling loudly about needing them stopped, anyone who doesn't believe that will be afraid to speak up for fear of being assumed to be 'part of the revolution'...and any and all active Maverick Hunters or Repliforce members will be put under the same scope. Redips is, in essence, deliberately pushing a global civil war...for some reason.

X and Zero's families probably have contingencies worked out in case something bad happened (Ex. Octavia's "Safe Words") and will either be able to slip away before security is placed around them "For Their Protection" (Or more likely the kids will pull some sort of experimental super-weapon that no one will expect out of nowhere while the Moms cover and direct everyone where they need to go), Or, if they can't get away will sit tight until X, Zero, AXL and Octavia spring them from their gilded cage (considering how overall baddass this family is I somehow doubt that will happen, or if it does they'll meet up mid-escape attempt and the Wives will be like "What took you so long?" in a thoroughly tongue-in-cheek manner).
Like I said, it's a Core group of maybe one to two dozen people who Will side with team PWNY (Including CiCI, because she's already proven to the readers that she has ulterior motives for just about everything, and they seem to be along the lines of "Help the Pony" when it isn't concerning other Eldritch Entities), but between their collective skills and power they can take on armies (and have), either individually or together and come out with only a few scuff-marks and bruises.
Another faction I forgot to mention is Repliforce, which, barring the Four S-Ranks, is comparably powerful to both the MH's and Red Alert on their own. Now, Colonel may be torn because Redips is a former Repliforce Officer and fellow comrade, but I think he would ultimately side with his sister and brother-in-law, especially if Iris gets a message to him that the Maverick Hunters are trying to hold her and her family against their will (Key word being "trying"). The only question would be if the General Agrees, and if not, how many of Colonel's men are Loyal to Colonel above Repliforce and would be willing to follow him in deserting Repliforce to stand with X and Zero.
So yeah, If Redips wants a war, he could certainly get it. Somehow, though I doubt he's actually thought through exactly how much of a world of hurt he's just directed towards him and those who would willingly/blindly follow him. On the other hoof, I also doubt that things will be allowed to escalate into a protracted conflict if Team PWNY has anything to say about it.

Plus, I can see the original group of Maverick Hunters from X1 repaying the debts they owe X, Zero, and Octavia for sparing them by siding with them.

Sure they were ALLOWED to but they really were not too moral doing so. At least in my opinion.

8144691 Just because the cop is wearing body armor doesn't mean the gun can't harm other people. And they were not just verbally disagreeing with a cop. They were deliberately informing an officer of the law "Screw the rules. I'm going to do what I want and to hell with whom I hurt. Only thing you can do is kill me or get out of my way.". So, as per the law, they shot the individuals that were threatening INNOCENT BYSTANDERS. Whether or not the criminals could harm the cops is completely and utterly irrelevant. You tell a cop to their face that you intend to harm others and nothing but death will stop you I will be the first to DEMAND that the officer shoot you in the fucking head. And that's from a "overly friendly" Canadian. Not one of those gun obsessed Americans.
8145575 Except there were no bystanders in the freaking BOSS ROOMS. Also the whole "I am not going to go peacefully" wasn't even said outright in at least a few cases. Sure most of them said defiant things that could be interpreted as them refusing to surrender but they didn't say "I will not surrender and if you spare me I will kill", well except for one of them, who ironically lived the longedt before being one-shot.
Again I want to say that they were fully within their rights to kill in a heartbeat but I sure don't see them as heroes when they do.
8146036 That's the kicker, they're not 'heroes'. They are THE POLICE. Each one of them is the equivalent of an elite SWAT team and riot squad rolled into one. If they have to show up things are ALREADY terribly wrong. Civilians are in danger and the use of deadly force has been authorized. There mere act of them walking into a 'boss chamber' is the equivalent of a SWAT member coming up to an armed suspect and telling them "Get down on the ground/Drop the weapon". At that point ANYTHING other than compliance/surrender is LEGALLY considered deadly intent and the suspect can be shot dead. It doesn't matter if the SWAT body armor renders the suspects weapon useless. X and the others are not the types of cops who deal with petty crimes, or even major crimes. They are the ones you send in when you all other options are gone. By being present on the scene ANYONE refusing to cooperate/surrender can and most likely will be shot. Anyone being defiant with a SWAT officer can be double-tapped. Anyone who is armed and defiant can be triple-tapped.
However as 8143479 pointed out, that's EXACTLY what Redips wanted. Because of your EXACT reaction. "Well that doesn't look heroic!" SWAT teams are NOT trained to be heroes. They are trained to be "The Last Resort". Trying to be heroes gets innocent people killed more often than not. Sure everyone praises them when they save people, but the harsh reality of things is that when SWAT arrive on scene they are PREPARED to kill every single suspect. Because that is their job. "Secure the scene, minimize civilian casualties. All other objectives secondary." There is no glory in gunning down a criminal armed with a 9mm when you're wearing body armor rated to deal with assault weapons, and carrying one yourself. But that won't stop a SWAT member from doing EXACTLY that. Redips is playing on public fears and misconceptions and he is doing it MAGNIFICENTLY. I approve of his methods.
