And yes, the CMC and Big Mac will all become princesses.
A little odd that the pony whose career is dependent on her imagination and creative talent would have such simple wants after becoming the highest physical form of her species, but you're right, Rarity is the most sensible of the gang.
What was missed, though (I know what you're thinking, be silent), is how her scaly pseudo-suitor responded to the sight of her ascension to princesshood. It's hard to believe he just stood by and didn't react to Princess Rarity of all things!

And before you even ask, no, Spike will NOT be a princess. The spell won't work on non-pony creatures.

It's such an obvious development that I can't really see it as anything other than a shallow tangent with little-to-no potential for humor (not that you wouldn't be able to conjure plenty out of it). Besides, just as Fluttershy doesn't need to Hulk out or convert to vampirism, Spike doesn't need to be anything other than himself...or Kick-Ass.

What an excellent premise for a series of vignette-style shenanigans, a la your older story Let's Be Evil! (which I though was absolutely hilarious, BTW
). I'm looking forward to seeing how the various ponies react to and choose to exploit their alicorndum for the 24 hours they're allotted. If your previous story is any indication, I hope we can also expect some equally giggle-inducing subplots happening in the background of the main storyline, ready to throw the relatively simple plan of Twilight and the Mane Five into a tumbling free-for-all. 
Considering the running subplots in many of his stories, I imagine RealityCheck would have . . . an interesting reaction if he finds this fanfic.
Considering her reputation in some fanfics and headcanons . . .

Interesting. Though, from what the show has shown, the spell she finished for Starswirl and what gave Twilight her alicorn status were not the same. From what has been shown, the spell originally was intended to use the powers of others to grant the user a temporary time of ultimate magical power boost. Whereas... the magic that transformed Twilight came from her heart, not her horn, from having acchieved enlightenment over her powers of the 'magic of friendship'. In other words, enlightenment over her cutie mark. Buuuut... creating a false alicorn status without the power boost entailed by it is quite another matter, and it's easy to see how Twilight's transformation into such could inspire her into wanting to try and create a more controllable version of said spell.^_^

Okay... sorry, I was mildly irritated to see that pic being used without something in the description, so I scrolled over the pic itself and it just read the fimfiction static image source... apparently you have to hover directly over the tiny source button.
