The magic of friendship flows through every creature, big and small. They just need a little push in the right direction. Tired of living under their masters' neglect, insanity or just plain monotony, the pets all desire (in one way or another) to take life in a new, more exciting direction.

When a mysterious curse is laid on the Elements of Harmony, turning the bearers into pets and their pets into ponies, the misfits embark on a dangerous trek to break it. What was originally meant to be a quick trip around Equestria turns into a harrowing journey that expands from the comfy suburbs of Ponyville to the forgotten ruins of an underground kingdom to the biting tundra of the north, all filled with odd characters, laughter and an evil that has lasted for generations as the pets each embrace their inner hero. Because as we all know: the greatest of legends always start with the smallest beginnings.

Twilight Sparkle lives with her friends in a technologically advanced utopia, where the happiness of everybody is guaranteed. There are no fights, no heartbreak, and no troubles of the past. Everybody lives in bliss.

Twilight and her friends need to rebel.

As the personal protegee of Princess Twilight Sparkle, Luna's life is more than crazy enough for a unicorn of her age. Balancing her studies and putting up with her hard-partying pegasus sister is enough to keep Luna up most nights with little or no social life to speak of. But as the only one who believes the legends that Tirek the Terrible is returning and the only one who actually cares enough to stop him, it doesn't look like Luna is going to be getting any sleep anytime soon.

Which is just as well, because she keeps having the strangest dreams about a life she half-remembers; a life of long nights spent as Princess of the Moon and a terrible catastrophe that befell her kingdom. But those are just dreams...right?

With the fate of Equestria resting on her shoulders, Luna must unite a group of unlikely allies to stop Tirek, save the world, and solve the riddle of her nightmares before they come to life.

Meet Ned, your average earth pony with a very unusual gift. Ned can touch dead things and bring them back to life. However, this gift does not come without consequences; if he were to revive a pony for longer than a minute, he risks killing somepony else. Follow Ned as he attempts to solve the murder of his childhood sweetheart Chuck.

I know, I know, this is essentially a re-write of the first episode of Pushing Daisies, but there is an explanation for that; I did this to get the ball rolling in the series of stories I plan to write about this. So please, don't crucify me for doing something to lay the groundwork for upcoming stories.
