Twilight, Luna, Applejack and Rainbow Dash go on a camping trip together while Rarity, Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy are away in Manehattan, but what adventures lie for them on the way? Will they make it in one piece? Exactly what are Applejack's feelings for Rainbow Dash? And who does Twilight like?

When chaos overtakes the land and famine strikes the once peaceful land of Equestria, the only source of food left is found on an unexplored island. The island holds many mysteries, being the rumored birthplace of Discord. Six ponies find their way through the island, but they are not alone. Separated in this new territory, friendship will be put to the test as the quest for survival consumes loyalty. Relying only on skills and wits, the journey for new life begins in an age of darkness, but there is something standing in the way. In the race for survival, only the fittest will survive, but this time there won't be any friend there to cover up flaws. Sinister hands lie at the center of it all.

Twilight couldn't be happier for her friends. Rainbow Dash and Applejack have gotten together after their mishap in the Everfree Forest. Big Macintosh and Fluttershy have finally hit it off. And even her new friend Octavia has even found love with Vinyl Scratch! The only exclusions are Pinkie and Rarity, who are too preoccupied with parties or dresses to even care!

There's little she can do about it for right now though, as Princess Luna herself has requested she help deal with a problem in Manehatten. Somepony has been causing serious trouble in the city that never sleeps, and Twilight isn't going to believe who's behind it all!

Can she save a mare who everypony has deemed a 'Phony', a 'Failure', and a 'Dead End of Life'?

For almost a thousand years, the immortal Nightmare Moon has reigned over Equestria as Empress. To the average pony, Nightmare Moon is an overarching enigma whose rule is absolute and whose wrath is terrible. But to Twilight Sparkle, who as an orphan has never known her parents, the Empress is something else entirely. When the young unicorn is brought under the royal wing as an apprentice, she learns a great deal more about the supposed tyrant than she ever knew. But as Twilight is introduced to life with her new mentor, she is thrust into a world of political intrigue, conspiracies and secrets. Secrets that were never meant to be revealed. Once upon a time, alicorns ruled the land of Equestria. They were worshiped as gods and goddesses and were the subject of admiration by all. However, as time passed the dragons grew more resentful of the alicorns' prominence and power.

So, they declared war on the alicorns.

It was a long and bloody struggle, but in the end the dragons won with the death of the last alicorn. With the fall of the alicorns, it didn't take long for the dragons to conquer the rest of the world and rule it under an iron fist.

That was 1000 years ago.

Now it is present day, and a young unicorn bard named Selene stumbles into the peaceful hamlet of Ponyville. She enchants the town with her singing of tales of a time before the dragons ruled the world and the races didn't live in fear. Her stories spark the rebellious spirit which have been repressed by the ponies since the death of the last alicorn.

Soon, Ponyville is attacked by dragons who have gained intel that the leader of a rebel movement had been staying there. Selene manages to save the town which has accepted her as one of its own, but not before many are injured and some die.

Now, Selene finds herself leading a movement she never meant to create. A movement to overthrow the dragons. A movement to show dragons that not all legends die so easily and can easily rise from the ashes to burn again.

The Ponyspawn have invaded Equestria, and it is up to the newest addition to the Grey Wardens, Twilight Sparkle, to find the means to drive them back! With her friends and allies at her side, can Twilight defeat the evil tide before all of Equestria is devoured?

Twilight Sparkle is whisked away to the utopian city of Canterlot, where she has been invited to participate in the legendary Aura Bloom magic competition. While there, she runs into an old nemesis.
