Losing someone is never easy, especially when you consider the death your fault. Twilight is filled with guilt over Spike's death, descending deeper into depression. In order to save her friend, and deny the truth, Rarity will go to any lengths to get their precious Spike back. And when she goes to those lengths, she can never turn back.

When Spike falls seriously ill with a mysterious disease and the ponies strive to nurse him back to health, Twilight Sparkle comes to grips with this very realization about her number one assistant--and friend.

After Twilight is asked the hard question she never even pondered herself, she thinks about her future life with Spike. Unfortunately, Twilight thinks and realizes the inevitable truth of the situation, one that leaves her more grateful for her assistant that she has ever been before.

Spike the Dragon has lived in Ponyville for a few years. Everything was as close to perfect as perfect can be, until Spike was accused of a crime that he did not do. He was sentenced to be exiled from Ponyville effective immediately. The dragon could hardly believe his fate as all the ponies he had been friends with turned on him so quickly. Even the mane six turned at his pleas. Only the CMC stood up for Spike, but being still young, no one took their word seriously. Now Spike goes on a Journey for a new home.

In the past few weeks since Twilight has started dating, Spike has found himself spending more and more time alone in the castle. Normally he would be willing to put up with his own loneliness, in exchange for her happiness, but when the dark of the night comes around, he can't help but wonder if he really is alone.

Spike thought that he had found his place among ponies, especially after the dragon migration.
But things didn't turn out the way he thought.

He now lives a relatively quiet life in the Everfree Forest.
But what happens when events lead spike to look back at his old life, and take him back to the times where everything went wrong? And what happened to Spike after Pony kind turns her back on him?

Spike is on a mission. A mission to save himself and his 'friends' from everypony. He believes that Twilight and the others are falling into their clutches and he must stop them. What happens now?
