Cumulus Granted has studied predators in their natural environment since he was a colt. He even went to college to become a Zoologist. So when he finds out that his grant won't be renewed next year, he's heartbroken. In the middle of the worst bender of his life, he's approached by a Horse from Saddle Arabia, who offers him a place on his expedition to a newly discovered continent in the southern hemisphere. The young Doctor leaps at the opportunity to study new Carnivores, but is he going to regret this decision later?

Yeah, jumping on this bandwagon with the LoHAV gang. Seems that I can't seem to get away from the wood motif. This was initially inspired by Headless, Not Heartless and various others, but only now do I actually get to it.

No one ever noticed the pained look in her eye, or the fake smile she plastered upon her face. But how could they when they were too lost in their own depression...

One day a lost stranger makes an arrival in the village, and the mysterious encounter raises Pinkamena Diane Pie's curiosity... How will Pinkamena trust this stranger, and will they be able to rescue her before it's too late?

This story is rated 14+ (possibly best suited for a more mature audience) for graphic descriptions of violence, suggestive themes, use of alcohol, strong language, and depression. Anyone uncomfortable with these themes should not read it! Viewer discretion is strongly advised for younger audiences.

If you came to hear a story, I’m sorry to disappoint. I suspect this’ll just end up as one big confession, really. When you’re the first Teutscher to set hoof into Equestria, I suppose that’s to be expected. And when you’re the universe’s favorite chew toy, doubly so. Still, with enough wit, some Prussian ingenuity, a droll sense of humor, and wanton murder, I might just survive this. Then again, when you’re going up against an unending list of things like government conspiracies, that guardian angel who keeps telling you to kill ponies, psycho Equestrian girls with allophilia, a lunatic princess, the legions of the Inferno, the Equestrian culture itself, swashbuckling sword fights, and laissez-faire economists, you begin to realize why there’s a big “if” in the middle of your life.

Everything was always so simple here in District six. I had an amazing colt friend, a caring mother and two brothers. But every year, one colt and one mare between the ages of 12 and 18 would be reaped for the Equestrian Hunger Games - A sick game that Discord created to make him promise that he would keep the peace as long as the games existed.
Everypony always hopes and prays they are never reaped - who wouldn't right? But on this the thirty-fourth year of the games, I think things are about to change.

Pinkie Pie's mind is out where the buses don't park any more. When her wacky-factor gets her in hot water with Applejack, someone close to Pinkie decides for an intervention. Pinkamena, Pinkie's evil side, wants a word.
