Chapter 5 Ending 2: Spike's Decision

Spike had made his decision, it was time he made his way to Rarity. As he was making his way to the throne room, memories from his years of living here with Twilight flooded his mind. Never would he have guessed this place would be the place he has to make one of the biggest decision of his life involving love. Quickly coming back to reality from his nostalgia moment, he hurried to the throne room. Once he entered, he saw Rarity, Twilight Sparkle, Princess Celestia and Princess Luna.

“Spike!” Twilight ran up to hug him.

“Hey Twilight, I missed you too!” Spike returned the hug.

“I’m glad you made it back here safe. I worried about you two.”

“I knew you were.” Spike gave a small smile.

Suddenly Rarity interrupted the two.

“Well Spike, have you made your decision?”

Spike took a deep breath, he was worried about how Rarity would react to what he was about to say.

I hope this works… Spike took another deep breath. It calmed him down enough to think of what he was about to say.

“I have made a decision Rarity…”

“Well, what is it?”

“I think you should transform back to your normal form.” Spike waited, expecting anger from Rarity. To his surprise the room stayed silent, Rarity looking at him with disappointment, but spoke no words. After about five minutes of silence Rarity spoke.

“Spike, do you not love me? Did you have a change of heart? I thought you loved me.” Rarity felt hurt and disappointment, she hoped he would have said yes.

“I do Rarity!” Spike quickly responded.

“Then why did you choose not to try?”

“I never said that.”

“Yes you did, we talked earlier, remember?”

“I do! What I’m wondering is, do YOU really love me?”

“WHAT! Of course I do! How could you ask such a thing!?” Rarity asked, with an angry tone.

“Then why did you put those conditions on your so called “love” for me?”

“I already explained Spike…”

“You weren’t really thinking now were you Rarity?”

“…” Rarity was speechless.

“If you truly loved me Rarity, you would not have the conditions you did.”

“But Spike, what about the other ponies, what would they think?”

“Do you really care about what they think?”

“Well…”

“Who cares what they think! If you truly love someone, you’d try everything to be with them. Do you think I cared about what the others thought of me all those times I tried in the past? No! All I cared about, was being with you, at your side. All my devotion wanting to be your special-dragon. I’m sure the other ponies got used to the thought after a while, it’s not like stranger haven’t happened around here. I realize that I will live on much longer, but don’t you think I’ve thought about it before? I have, and I’m okay with that, as long as this event happens in my life, I will happy until the day of my death. So… I ask you Rarity, what is YOUR decision?” Spike was shocked at how much he just said, he didn’t expect to say that much. Never the less, he looked at Rarity in the eyes, waiting for her decision.

Rarity looked into his eyes, she could see that he was sincere with what he just said. She started to feel horrible, how could she put a condition on him like that? Thinking about what Spike said about true love, made her shed a few tears. She treated Spike horribly all this time, and now this was the final chance to make things right. Rarity took a deep breath, continued to look at Spike in the eyes, and said.

“You’re right Spike, I shouldn’t have put those limitations, I want to apologize Spike. I’ve treated you horribly over the years, teasing you when your love was genuine. I’m sorry Spike, and I’ve realized that I want to give it a try. I want to be your special-mare.” Rarity smiled.

“I accept your apology Rarity. I accept your offer. Now let’s get you back to normal and go back home.” Spike said excitedly.

“Alright Twilight and sister let’s do this!” Luna said excited.

The three stood in a triangular pattern around Rarity, they charged the spell, and upon release, all you could see was a white flash of light. The light settled a few minutes later and Rarity was back to her familiar self. She ran up to Spike.

“I love you Spike!” She gave him a passionate kiss on the lips. Spike returned the kiss.

“I love you too Rarity.”

“Hey you two, get a room!” Twilight teased, giggling under her breath.

“Jealous Twilight?” Spike teased Twilight back.

“Me? No. I have my books, and research, that’s good enough for me.” The two started laughing.

“Alright Rarity, let’s go home.”

“Let us Spike.”

*One year later*

Twilight Sparkle moved into Canterlot Castle (spending most of her time in the library) to further her studies with Princess Celestia, and now with her great friend Princess Luna. As for Rarity and Spike, they now live together, the library was given to the town of Ponyville.

I do like this ending better than the 1st one, and I am happy they get together at the end of this story, but I don't like how both of them have Rarity turning back into a pony! It just makes it look like Spike never had a decision at all! It's just different reasons why he made the decision and the outcome!

I know exactly what you mean. See I wrote that chapter ages ago, when I was still new. That's what makes this story different from my others, the time between the chapter releases are huge, so every chapter is progress as I've gotten better and better. I don't blame you if you don't want to read the rest, but the last chapter is the best one. If you do want to read a story that is written a lot better, here are two that I would consider my best so far...
