SPOILER: And Trixie died later that night in the middle of the Everfree.
It was ok, if a little rushed. Didn't personally strike any chords, but it is still a worthwhile read.
1487835 twilight then found Trixie collapsed in the mud after she had ran after get when she left ponyville. She had shouted and looked for what seemed like hours but it was like the forest itself kept her from reaching her goal. Just when she was about to give up she had seen the blue coated body on the road. Trixie's breath was weak and twilight had known that she would not survive if she didn't get medical attention emidietly. In one mighty teleport she had taken them both to ponyville hospital. Trixie had been on deaths door and the doctors informed twilight that she was unlikely to survive the night. Twilight decided to stay at Trixie's side that night. She there had a dream, she had been trapped in a wild forest. The breeze through the trees sounded like words. They had asked what she wanted and she had answered: to tell Trixie that she didn't blame her and that she wanted to get to know her. The trees then parted, forming a path forward. Twilight had ventured forward and at the end she had found the sleeping body of Trixie. Twilight had walked to her and gently nudged her awake. After that twilight had woken up realizing that morning had come. When her eyes fell on Trixie they where filled with joy as the showmare was waking up.

Good feels here, but a little too swift for my taste. Overall, I liked it.

Short, overused subject, almost no buildup or resolution... and yet it's a DeiStar story, fine prose intact, so I know there's more we're not seeing. This feels like the start of an aborted Twixie shipfic, or a part of a longer chapter of a more substantial work. I just know there's something behind this, and I'd love to see it taken further. So no vote yet, just a follow to see where this goes.

I see the "complete" flag, but like I said: it's DeiStar, so it just feels like there's more to this. I'm following in case it gets marked "incomplete" later, because I'd like to see more of this. Good writers can take a stale setup and make it fly, and that's what I'm hoping for here. And if it never goes any further, well, it was just a click or two.

Ugh, I know it's mean, but I hate these stories. I'd prefer to be told they died than left speculating. What point could there possible ever be in Trixie realizing the problem with her life and then dying?!

I think this plot was first touched on like a week after "Boast Busters" aired. Maybe a day.
The story itself is cheesy and melodramatic, almost to the point of malaise. The descriptions, while effective and well-implemented, are poured on way thick, the story's intentions are laid embarrasingly bare...
…and if I held any of that against this story, I'd be a giant hypocrite.
Besides, I enjoyed it! Shoot, I'd say this is a great distillation of a scene that's gone through every Trixie sympathizer's mind at least once (yours truly included) and it wears its heart on its sleeve. Nothing wrong with that.
That said, I will agree with other commenters that it sounds more like a single scene than a full story (the ending tries its hardest, but...) Mainly due to the use of the word "love," which goes largely unexplained--both in the story and given Trixie's character in general. It really does scream for expansion since it just leaves that thread dangling there--and not even in a romantic sense.
In all, fun times! And as the author, the choice is ever yours, but if you do write a follow-up, I'd read it.
