Loved the end there
Junk magic! Junk!

The fundamental problem of being a little pony in a world of giants. You exist at junk level, or thereabouts.
Careful Bombay, logic like can get get you involved in endless conflicts. Sometimes talking can get you further than attacking, even when the world is grey.
And this logic would curse Dim with being how he is now forever. Dim is damaged, but Dim can heal. With the right experiences and the right incentives Dim can learn; Dim can get better. Bombay's logic would sentence Dim to a future being more damaged, not less. Blackbird is right to be uneasy.

Blackbird was also exploiting Dim to get to get to her mother. Everybody is playing somebody here.

Slap that Vizard, set him free....
Kill'em , and let God sort them out. Awesome.
Group casting? Nice.

Hmm exploiting is a bit charged here... At the start they were having a mutual contract and there wasn't really any exploitation going... after... both got emotionally involved and still no exploitation was happening...

That kind of argument is equivalent to abandoning one's responsibilities for one's actions. Is that what you propose?
To be fair, I don't quite disagree with that, but nor do I agree. Killing them all and letting God (that monster) sort them utterly disregards any innocents that would be slain needlessly. Granted, against Grogar of all beings, life itself being quite literally at stake, one might very well feel all options are on the table, and I couldn't blame you for that. But Dim's wrath is utter destruction. Much like a nuclear warhead, indiscriminate in it's destruction, regardless of one's personal affiliation.
If you kill everyone, you leave none to save.

You raise a valid point. If one were to follow this philosophy, many innocents would be harmed, potentially doing more harm than good. What is more important: a potentially large number of civilians who got caught in the crossfire and die, or preventing a massive amount of civilians from dying by using indiscriminate force against the bad guys? I acknowledge that these two options are not mutually exclusive, one must ask them-self: Is there such a thing as a greater good, and if there is, where is the line drawn?
Personally, I find the existence of a greater good preposterous. Those bad guys were someone's sons or daughters, and they probably had loved ones or people who cared about them. Every action harms someone else, so you have to decide who is important in your life and who isn't and make sure those you care about come out on top. In this way I agree with Dim's thought pattern: Blackbird is important, as are his new "friends" (whether he realizes it or not), because he likes them. He doesn't know those civilians the Ascended are using as Equine shields, and the Ascended are threatening those he cares about, so he takes care of them as quickly as possible.
Additionally, even if you do believe in the greater good, does believing in such a thing justify your actions? Say that you do save the day through that indiscriminate use of force: Are you able to live with yourself after words? Are there any repercussions to the death of the civilians, or are such losses considered acceptable?
Also, it sounded cool, and I really like mindless violence.

mfw I spend 20 minutes trying to discuss philosophy in the comments section of a piece of my little pony fanfiction XD

Greater than the sum of its parts. I like it.

Everyone sees a certain amount of Greater Good, which can create necessitates Necessary Evils. However, just because something is Good For The Whole and saves many lives....does not mean that the acts themselves were not truly monsterous.
We learned many things that helped save many lives from Cruel and Evil Nazi Experiments. Much debate was had to whether we should use that information, considering the suffering of the research subjects. Yet we continue to use that information to save lives. We choose the Greater Good, to put the lives of future generations, over that of the research subjects.
Now the REAL problem is, as you said, trying to draw the line between Acceptable Consequences and Unacceptable Consequences. Where does one draw the line between Necessary Evil and Unncessary Evil? At what point does the Greater Good for The Many become outweighed by the Suffering of the Few?
Obviously it would be better if we didn't need those Necessary Evils at all. If we could have avoided the bloodshed of the Civil War in order to free the slaves. Yet many would agree that such suffering and death in that War was Just and Necessary. That it was for the Greater Good. Then again, you will find people who feel the opposite.
This showed up as Slavian and not German oddly enough.
Yes! Why, i’d put money that they would be of a horrendous coloration as well!
