You know, there is something I always thought of when it came to Froggy Bottom Bog. Why is it named that? Are there frogs with giant asses living in the bog that are more notable than hydras and other things that give it its name?

A bottom is also a place where rivers drain, like a delta or a bog.

He is correct. Other terms include but are not limited to, holler, glen, creek, etc. etc.
Ambition is always... troublesome, perhaps.
It sucks to be ambitious but having to accept you can never measure up. Whenever I see Twilight being like this I wonder if I should be upset at Twilight, who has apparently never not been able to measure up, for lacking compassion for someone who does.
It's easy to see that others should just accept their mediocrity when you don't have to, after all.
So.... Tarnished now has the drip. Don't they have a shot for that?

The difference being, Trixie's so called ambition has hurt other ponies.
She whipped Snips and Snails.

Yes. Going out of your way to hurt others for your failed ambition (or even successful ambition) is definitely a problem.
Does that mean that her desire to not be mediocre is a problem (ie: that she shouldn't be ambitious) or that trying to not be mediocre by hurting others (pursuing the ambition in the wrong way) is the problem?
Or that Trixie specifically should accept it because she is too unstable without it, rather than every person who is mediocre should accept that they are so?

You know, I am fairly confident that Twilight Sparkle would gladly help Trixie become great and powerful if Trixie would just go about it the right way. Twilight is a kind and compassionate character, a natural teacher, and she has genuine warmth and affection for others, even when they do wrong. (See: Twilight Time)
Twilight Sparkle wants to bring out the very best in others and this has been shown time and time again.

Yeah, this is probably true.
Ha. I spend too much time reading into the subtext of Twilight the Übercorn stories where she excels beyond all others by dint of birth or by being the golden child and no attention is paid to the other, weaker unicorns (save for them being unreasonably bitter and resentful, perhaps) that I forget that it's pretty darn out of Twilight's character to care about that.
Yay for practical magic!
But Tarnish needs a lot of practice. Which means more magic, food, supplies.
Huh, they should pack more food.
Whew Tar, ya boy needs tal earn some shiz bout magicks.
Know what I'm sayin' G?
Nice job!
I'd say the chapters are getting... bogged down.
Hey, it's Moist from Dr. Horrible!
Does my weather make you...moist?
