Here's one thing they are in common in with, the two are athletic (Rumble with his fast flying and Scootaloo with her scooter)
There’s also the fact that his brother is an athletic pegasus that would be a good match for Rainbow Dash if you shipped them, so the ‘little siblings’ being paired up works as a dynamic there too.
Here's another of how the two would end up together, Scootaloo can't fly and Rumble can, Rumble can teach Scoot how to fly and over time, Scoot can fall in love with him

There is more to relationships than just one dynamic. Look I've read some Rumbaloo fics and I never saw one where Rumble has his own personality. Its always make Rumble complement Scootaloo's. In this story Reality Ensued

4599978 Well in the finals to become a Wonderbolt in training. Thunderlane and Rainbow Dash was the last two left and a race was decided to see who would advance. Thunderlane trained with his brother for when Scootaloo said that they shouldn't try because Rainbow was going to win. Rumble wanted to prove her wrong. Long story short, Rainbow won, Scootaloo was happy, and Rumble was pissed. and some other stuff here and there. Its like a married couple getting a divorce because of their teams. Its sounds ridiculous but it does happen.

Well there is no story. But it was heavily implied due to Rumble's dislike of Rainbow Dash
Well, nice prologue, and I think this is when Dark Force starts to take hold of them. There were a couple of sentences where words were missing. Case in point, I think the sentence, "Wait, did you just him Button Mash" is missing the word 'call' in it and this sentence, "...hard it is to be who are despite..." needs the word 'you'. Also, it should be "...with you through the seasons..." instead of 'thought.' There are times I really hate my proofreading literacy.
