First Lieutenant John "Aquila" Killinger was on a less than routine patrol flight, when he was somehow teleported to a different planet. Little does he know, he is the last hope for the inhabitants of this strange world.

you can take off from that. but landing? guess you would have to have a high crosswind
Small is an understatement I'd love to see his plane take off from that.
Nice job!

Grabbity? Gasp!

Old joke from a cartoon Garfield and Friends, hehe.
7429315 Or a massive headwind.
7504474FINALLY!!!
You are indeed correct, and thank you for unknowingly participating in my little experiment. I wanted to see if there was anyone else out there that had an above average understanding of the A-10 platform, and, if so, how long it would take for them to pick up on that little "blunder". The answer to which is "a long-ass time".
While the A-10 does not have a radar, it does have a radar warning receiver (RWR), which lets the pilot know the direction, range, and particular type of an radar that is actively picking up the aircraft, and whether or not the aircraft is being locked on to by said radar. It is also used in conjunction with the missile warning system (MWS) to let the pilot know the direction of any active missile launches.
Now that someone has finally picked up on this, I can go about fixing it.
I almost decided to fix it earlier just to see if anyone noticed.
Won't be able to get around to it for at least a few days though. I'll put out a blog post tomorrow explaining why.
7505016 Hmmm, I thought so. Wasn't quite 100% sure on that bit, so I said screw it and threw it in there. Easy enough to fix.
7517960 Actually, the Marines do have some blackhawks in HMX-1, but I HIGHLY doubt that the President would take a trip to a combat zone.
I'll see what I can do to fix it, but it'll have to be put at the end of the list.
UPDATE PLEASE
this is extremely well done! There are a few spelling errors, but we get the story. The errors are small, and do not hinder the ability to read the story. I can't wait to see the latest story.
Dear lord, I might as well land my plane on an orchard rather than landing at that runway
I'm assuming not everything went well because it has been seven months.
7880004 Well, you're not wrong. I think the term "Life Happens" fits this situation pretty well. The next chapter is almost done, so I'm expecting to finish it up within the next few days.
7880828 ah. Shweet, glad ONE of my favorite stories is being continued! Keep up the good work and god bless!
