Some things happen beyond our control. For DJ Martinez, it was being thrust into a world across dimensions, and then suddenly reuniting with her old world in one of the worst ways imaginable.

With two worlds now coexisting, there comes new kinds of struggles and conflicts. There are the ones due to new social interactions, but also ones due to cultures of both worlds colliding.

For one man and his girlfriend, it may be far beyond the latter of even what DJ went through.

This story is a prequel to All-American Girl

It's been a few years since first contact between Equestria and Human Earth. Both worlds have desperately tried to push aside the ugliness of the inter-dimentional custody battle for the "Lost Foal" in the interest of pursuing better relations. The two worlds have grown more comfortable over the years, but things are far from perfect.

Shining Badge, the Sheriff of the small, backwater Equestrian town of Dodge Junction finds himself dealing with the murder of two ponies from his town at the hands of human "big game hunters." The traditional, principled old stallion soon gets caught up in a battle for jurisdiction between ponies from Equestria's Mage Guild and a strange human agency. With corruption and bigotry on all sides, Shining Badge is faced with choosing between his own sense of morality and that of the Law.

This story is a sequel to All-American Girl

A story set in between Books I and II of All-American Girl.

A lot of news has come out of Canterlot lately: the destruction of Fillydelphia and the razing of Cloudsdale. The attack on Canterlot itself. Princess Celestia declaring war. That was bad enough.

Now, with the news of Princess Luna's illegitimate child - an alicorn, no less! - and her intent to marry the father or abdicate, what does that say about the stability of the nation? What does that say that the lunar alicorn chose not to love a pony, but a human? And what does that say about the newly-invested Princess Luna II (who insists on being called Sterling) herself?

Then there's the news of Viscountess Lyra Heartstrings, now somehow permanently a human and never to become a pony once more. Why did that happen? Could it have been prevented? And was it stopped...by humans, no less?

And those rumors, which seem to be on the increase: That Celestia herself has taken a human as a lover. That Saddle Arabia intends to declare independence. That Nightmare Moon survived the attack on Canterlot...and that Chyrsalis didn't, and now something worse has taken her place.

As the months go by and the sapient peoples of both worlds come closer to the end of 2047, a whole lot of uncomfortable truths may come to light...

...and one just might be the straw that breaks the camel's back.

This story is a sequel to Be Human: the All-American Girl Sidestories

An All-American Girl Sidestory.

The upcoming weekend was going to be hard enough for Mike Hengst, what with having to take his wife to a meeting of regional senior officers for the U.S. Navy. The problem isn't so much having to go to the meeting, but that his wife; DJ Martinez, is a pony, and the man in charge of the officer's meeting hates ponies.

But thanks to a magical artifact provided by DJ's aunt; one Twilight Sparkle, which allows the user to temporarily assume a human form, everything should work out, right?

Not when the artifact malfunctions and makes Mike into a pony himself. With his entire world flipped on its head, Mike must now survive the weekend in his wife's place as a pony among humans. And there's no guarantee the change is temporary this time.

For Derpy Hooves, life is never easy. Even as an accomplished scientist and scholar, she still has to contend with a twin sister that hates her, living alone in a tiny town and working a dead-end job, and, of course, her eyes, which causes her to be clumsier in public than she normally is. For her, life sucks.

But now, Derpy has to face a decision that could rock the very foundations of her family, her life and her future. And if that wasn't enough, one of the neighborhood foals, Sparkler, may need her help desperately. And to top it all off, a secret project of hers might just change the world of ponydom forever.

She's got a lot on her hooves. Maybe too much.

“My name’s Daisy Jo Martinez. I was born – or so my birth certificate says – on March 30, 2012. I’m married with two kids, my husband’s a Naval officer. I’m originally from a town just outside of DC called Winchester, Virginia – apple capital of America, yay, go me. I’m a Republican – that tends to shock a lot of people – and I’m a practicing Catholic – and that tends to shock more people than the first, and like I said, I’m married – I think people start passing out at that point. I've lived a happy, charmed life and I’m proud to be an American.

“And as you can also see, I’m a pony. Well, physically anyway."
