This story is a sequel to The Thousand Year Change

Because of a spell cast by Twilight she and her friends saw what Equestria would be like if Luna had ponies who looked up to her. In that world Color Scheme, Rainbow Dash's cousin, a comic book artist and writer living in Equestria who has to use a middlepony in order to make a living because she's a bat pony.

But, what would her life be like in the normal universe we see in the show? Would she still face hatred for something she had no control over? Or...would she have other challenges?

A collection of small, self-contained, often single-chapter mini-stories set in the Rites of Ascension universe. See little glimpses into the lives and times of the characters in this compendium of random scenes. Some I wrote for fun, others may be scenes deleted from the main story for editing purposes.

With the exception of chapter three, you do need to have read Rites of Ascension to understand what's going on here. If you skip that part, you'll be severely lost.

Updates will be sporadic. Technically, these are non-canon, as they're not as heavily considered or edited as the canon stories. Most, if not all, of these are going to be Slice of Life, but exceptions may appear from time to time. Cover art by Violet Squiggles, my beloved wife.

On the night of her mother's passing, Luna must accept the cold, hard fact that she'll never feel her mother's loving touch again. With no one to else to turn to, she finds solace and a much-needed shoulder to cry on with her big sister.

At least, that's what Rainbow says. Applejack's skeptical, to say the least. Especially after she just lost an arm wrestling match. Besides, that sweet, gentle pony couldn't win a tug-of-war against butterflies, much less be stronger than her, right?

Ebony, a gothic unicorn studying in Canterlot, is just as Satan made her: beautiful and perfect in every Way (geddit?). Join her as she lives and loves alongside her fellow goths, fends off preps, and struggles to reconcile her feelings for her two best friends.

There's also some claptrap about a hospital, but don't pay attention to that.

When a moonlight kitten unexpectedly enters Luna's life, she has no idea what to do. The creature knows no limits, pestering her during the day and night, even disrupting her work! Surely Fluttershy could help her get rid of that nuisance! ... Even if it can be adorably cute at times.
