Captain Randolph 'Randy' Edwards is crippled, lucky to have lost only his lower legs to the burning thanks to the heroic efforts of Princess Luna. With the relief of all his friends on Equis, now it was only a matter of time before Randy's race followed up on his discoveries. Though instead of flying ships descending on the planet once again. Humanities response came with a simple little ping.

After the events of Hard Reset Twilight's life and mental well being are slowly returning to normal. Her recovery is cut short, though, when a letter arrives informing her that the time loop spell she cast is causing severe damage to space and time itself. In over her head, Twilight tries to summon anypony who will know how to fix it. The pony she gets is the last one she ever thought she would meet... and nothing like she expected him to be.

When Rainbow's responsibilities make even flying no longer fun, Twilight offers to let her stay at the library for an all-expenses paid staycation. Though a little unsure, it doesn’t take much convincing from Twilight for Rainbow to change her mind. Expecting to just find some peace and quiet for a few days, Rainbow finds that and much more.
