A/N: Hey, readers. I'm leaving a note letting you know that Butter Ball is going on hiatus for a little bit, just until I get Raison Detre' finished. After that I'll begin Legends Of Ponyville, the continuing of Spark Storm's story. Once that gets going, then I'll probably feel ready to return to updating Butter Ball.

After murdering her marefriend in cold blood, Judge Final sentences Iris to life on parole with a therapist and an enchanted necklace that tracks her every move. Her cutie mark will forever be stained with blood, the mark of a pony that has committed a murder. What sort of therapist could possibly hope to save her from her own twisted, cold, uncaring mind? On an otherwise ordinary day at Sweet Apple Acres, Rainbow Dash unexpectedly demands the use of Applejack's barn for a day. Of course Applejack agrees to help out, but something's up; Dash is trying to handle everything herself, arrange for the Apples to be out in the fields, and doing her best to make sure neither Rarity nor Pinkie even hear about the whole thing. With her suspicions rising by the minute, the farmer goes to confront her friend and discovers something she never suspected...

Twilight discovers a book about the history of the Apple family, but it's missing some information. While it tells all about Granny Smith's life, there's no mention of a husband or any children. Twilight goes to Sweet Apple Acres to fill in the gaps and gets a lesson about what it means to be a family.

The AppleDash project is a series of short fics attached to various episodes, detailing a relationship between Rainbow Dash and Applejack behind the scenes. The stories take place sometime during or shortly after the indicated episode.

This is not meant to start shipping wars, argue that AppleDash is canon, or offend other shippers. In fact, if you like the idea I encourage you to try it with other ships!

Set a couple decades in the future, Applejack is on death's doorstep. Having been confined to the hospital, she wants to spend her last night with her wife, Rainbow Dash, outside of the walls of the hospital—as a free pony.

This story could use a re-write. That probably won't ever happen, but on the off chance that it does, I'll let people know.
