Cold Star is a Crusader: a Bat-Pony sworn to defend the Sacred Night. Adopting the guise of the Mysterious Mare-Do-Well to hide her forbidden ancestry, she came to Manehattan with a single purpose - to bring justice to those who would do evil under the cover of darkness. The last thing she expected to discover was a group of cape-wearing young ponies also claiming to be Crusaders.

The Crusaders - A Shadow Over Manehattan

There is a whole part of Equestrian life that almost never sees the light of day, just as there are those ponies that are asleep during Luna's night. It can be tough for friendship and love to flourish under such circumstances. When the bat pony stallion 'Shadow Guard' finds him self besotted by the honest and hard working Applejack, can he win her heart? Can a relationship of ponies of such different worlds ever work?

This story is a spin off of "The Mission of Buzzbot." So I would suggest reading it first, but it's not vital.

After the defeat of Nightmare Moon the thestrals were scattered to the most remote corners of the world In deep caves and forgotten mountains they lived, isolated from the outside world. As a thousand years past the rest of the world forgot them, and the thestrals grew stagnant in their isolation.

As the outside world grows and expands, their once isolated homes become less remote. As outside forces begin to invade, one thestral is forced from her home to seek aid and reunite the fragmented thestral clans on the eve of Nightmare Moon's return.

Princess Celestia regrettably banishes Princess Luna to the moon for a thousand years. The princess of the sun laments over her sister's children, allows them to share in Luna's punishment, and curses her two closest followers.
Over the course of a thousand years, the ancient race of bat-ponies flourish in the secluded woods of Hollow Shades, developing their own culture and traditions.
Luna's banishment comes to an end. She goes to visit the bat-ponies in their forest, and discovers something amazing.

As you were running away from some thugs you end up breaking your leg and passing out in the streets. When you wake up you find yourself in an unfamiliar place. You also find that the thing that saved you was a Bat Pony. What will happen as your leg heals.
