I love the new chapter and can't wait for the next. You idea that Discord won over the princesses is really interesting. I also love how you don't have the mane six (and others) doing their normal jobs. Mrs. Cheeraliee being the mayor and Pinkie as the school teacher, Rarity as the mechanic. It's just very unique and interesting. I congratulate you.

On another note, Rarity really should reenforce Mac's prosthetic leg. Say with Titanium, or spells.
Depending on whether it's the front or back hoof, maybe even include a hidden gimmick, like a defensive spell array, a hidden compartment or a weapon.
Love the continuation. And you don't have to write in an accent if you don't want to. Truthfully I don't think I could either. Although it's weird where accents pop up when you're reading. For some odd reason I found myself reading Dizzy Twisters' line about Nightmare Moon taking both of her daughters in Applejack's voice. It was weird especially when I realized it. And Here's something to go along with that.

Honestly, I see Mac as a simple man, who just wants the basic model: it's easy to repair, easy to maintain, and cheap as hell so he can always have a couple of backups.
He might want a better model after all this is done, though.

For one line only I read it with a southern drawl like Applejack's, most likely because Big Mac spoke the line before that. Other than that she doesn't really have a set 'voice'. And for the scene outside of the library I was reading Rarity with more of a Rainbow Dash style than Rarity because she's acting just like Rainbow Dash did in the original episode.

More than anything, I think I need to explain things here and now.
A point of Departure one thousand years in the past can make a sinner a saint and an angel a Devil.
Hence why so many ponies are in radically different jobs.
Fanon Fleur is usually little more than a trophy wife, or somehow still tied to Fancy Pants.
Due to my Plans for Fancy, I gave her a different role.
Like wise, Photo Finish became the head of the intelligence agency.
Joe is obviously Pony/Donut Joe, while the commanders under him are Hoity Toity, Magnum/Rarity's Dad, and Apple Strudel/Applebloom's uncle from Family Appreciation Day.
Spitfire is fundamentally unchanged, as is her various Wonderbolt colleagues.
Bonbon was outright stated to be an Admiral back in A Matter of Rules of War.
Mosley, Ivory and Harshwhinny are Uncle Orange, Mayor Mare/Ivory Scroll, and..well, Ms. Harshwhinny.
...To be honest, I also think this is the first time I've seen the soon-to-be elements actually try and fight Nightmare Moon.

I'm slightly disappointed no one picked up on the Furmanisms and other transformer references I had put into this.

I think I have a lot of explaining about some of my element choices.

I really enjoyed this retelling. It was different enough to make it feel fresh, but it also had enough of the old left in it to make it feel familiar. Too bad it didn't seem to get the exposure it deserved.

I think it may be because it is a very radical departure from other AUs.
The Lunaverse, Flipside, Rainbooms and Royalty, The Manehattanverse and even that Cadanceverse keep the same basic structure and background.

Well it's definitely an interesting prequel though I was thrown off by the alicorn abomination in Matters of Rules. I saw parts(pun sort of intended) of the remaining mane 6 appeared in it's ...er construction led me to believe they're gone. That was a red herring I followed until I read your journal. I forgot how certain ponies are similar to each other.
Aside from Luna's culture shock as well as Dinky's parentage. Will the other background ponies like Science Pirate Lyra and Admiral Bon Bon have their backstory explored in future stories ?

The Faux Alicorn was intended to be Vinyl/Raindrops/Berry with hints of Braeburn and other background ponies.
Since Berry Punch showed up, it became just random background ponies no one cared about.
As for other stories, I have ideas for a Hearts and Hooves day episode, and ones centered on other background ponies, so we'll see.
Hmmmm. Interesting. Especially the cast so far. I am abit puzzled over the use of Clagan though. Is he a reference?

Clagan is the one of the words that served as a basis for the word "Clock".
He's also influenced by the First Doctor.

Scootaloo just can't catch a break. In most stories she's an orphan, but when she finally does get some parents she gets knocked into a toilet.
I regret leaving this on my read later list for as long as I have.
