YAY
YOU HAD CHRYSALLIS USE THE MOTHER-FUCKING KAMEHAMEHA AND THERE WAS NO DRAGONBALL MUSIC?!?!?!
I'm so glad that this ended differently than in canon
I... didn't see that coming. Nice!
I was not expecting how this turned out. Well done sir, I tip my hate to you.
ok did not see that coming.
...Okay, that works. Great fix-chapter!
*inhale*
Ok. I think I'm at the point where I can say I'm done and untrack. I was interested when for once the story was going to do something to break away from the generic timeline nonsense that's plagued the story for too long, but having Chrysalis break out a random Pokemon move and even a Kamehameha attack out of no where are the straws the broke the camel's back. There is just way to much crap that has been piling up throughout the story and just pulling something so absurd like that is just the point where I can say no more.
No one can say I didn't try. I gave no criticism until half a million words in. Just these latest chapters I couldn't deal.
One word...
...
...
...
...
ANIME!
...wait...what....*mind explodes*
That is brilliant, a double-fakeout

I don't think I've ever seen a comment that literally didn't exist before
WAIT A MINUTE!
There was a fight with a big-ass cloud monster thing and there was no Shadow of the Colossus music!
...
Amazing chapter tho. Did not see that coming.
WHAT!?!? I was not expecting that.

The only Dragon Ball Music acceptable for anything anymore is the theme for Ultra Instinct with how awesome it is, but sadly, that would only be appropriate if Chryssy used it.

Aspect created her, maybe as an immortal teenager he probably thought "Hey, these would be awesome things for an Aspect of Battle to have, I am so fucking clever and awesome."
Chrissy's a good girl! Yay!!
This is why love your story, it makes you think things will go one way but then takes what you expect to happen, laughs at you, and does something completely different and even more awesome than expected. I'll be honest I was expecting for Chrysalis to do the exact same thing she did in the show and force Aspect to kill her or do some over used stereotype end. I'm glad that you didn't do this and instead made an original end.
W. D. Arceaion
Huh...
I expected the wedding and Changeling invasion to go much the same as the show, but with Chrysalis' reveal resulting in her either being tackle-hugged by Aspect or being literally put over his knee in front of everyone.
This was a nice difference. I just hope we get more of an explanation of the whole Arabus thing and how/why people knew it was an issue.
Neat.
Chrysalis loves her daddy dearly. This makes me smile. Good on you, girl.
Okay, I did not see THAT coming whatsoever, I mean I thought that Chrysalis would have been just like how she was in the show, so what's going to happen with Thorax now and how the changelings got their new forms.
...Well. That just happened. And as much as I want to put in a meme of Thor saying "I like this chapter. Another!" I have no idea how. Someone else please do it for me.
A delightful fakeout and reasoning behind all this that didn't make Chrysalis into a monster! Though; The kamehameha was kinda over the top. Still, amusing. I could see him telling Chrysalis stories of his favorite battle stuff growing up. She IS the aspect of battle, after all. Totally unexpected and completely enjoyable! Especially seeing Arabus return and get trounced as the surprise villain.

Mirror Move is being used as a Still Way (Unicorn martial art) technique, mastering magic to such a degree that it can be instantly replicated and/or reflected sounds like something a pinnacle of the magic martial arts fighting should be able to do. Also she is Christopher's daughter and the aspect of battle so of course a human would tell her all about human pop culture/fighting philosophies while teaching her how to do the whole fighting thing properly. Her father is also where she gets the idea for the human-ish form she battles him in.
So anyways, is there going to be a satisfactory reason/retcon for what happened to Midnight's sister? 'Cause she's still going to be murderous after she's no longer exhausted.
What are you talking about Twilight, this makes a lot of sense
Giving daddy dearest the peace he deserves ?
So do we
And Chryssie better have an explantation to give to Midnight about her sister
And i need to know what the realtionship is between Chrysalis, Cadance and Shining
Well....
Dafuq?
Fucking cliffhanger!!
I needed more than this paltry length of text!
I needed more!!

The Kamehameha wave is completely out of place. I'm pretty sure this isn't a crack fic or labeled even as comedy. It's randomly nonsensical generated crap.
And no. The way Mirror Move used here was lifted straight out of Pokemon.
8901196 It was a comedy, back before fimfic put a hard limit on how many tags a story could have.
I can usually spot a fake-out a mile away, but you sir had me completely fooled.

Regarding how 'people' knew it was an issue...
We, the audience, have seen that Aspect is constantly in battle against Arabus, inside of himself. We saw Chrysalis, the Aspect of Battle, looking upon her father sadly when he called all of the Aspects together a bunch of chapters back.
Obviously, she saw the internal battle, because she is literally the Aspect of Battle, and her 'sadness' was not because she was forgotten, or felt cast aside, as we were being led to believe, but because her Father, the man who created her and loved her and treated her like she was somebody from the get-go, still had not found the peace he had worked for thousands of years to bring to his children.
The thing is, battle...battle is not just about fighting, or violence. Battle is about struggling forward, to get from the bad times to the better times. And it makes her sad that her Father, whom she loves more than anything, is being denied that which she should have brought him ages and ages ago.
She senses this battle, and set about to do something about it. Because fuck Arabus.
Why did I real all of Chrissy's lines in a Cockney accent? And why did it work?
I’m trying to figure out why this chapter doesn’t work for me. It somehow feels out of place for me. It feels like this chapter is out of nowhere and the plot reasons make even less sense to me. Why is the air aspect different from every other aspect that went through the cycle of finding a new host for that aspect? Why are we, as someone else pointed out, getting these weirdo anime moves in my more western fairytale fantasy? I also don’t remember any real foreshadowing for this specific twist. This chapter doesn’t feel good to me, it feels like I’m suddenly reading another story and I’ve missed half the context.
It doesn’t help that this plan would have fallen apart after a little bit simply because of Midnight and Chrysalis’s complete lack of actual reconnaissance. It feels like she fluctuates between smart and stupid with this elaborate plan that doesn’t seem that elaborate or that smart. I’ll continue reading but this doesn’t feel like a high point in quality for the story.
Nice music choices

You forgot the fact that Chris is from the Human world which easily could have had those referenced for him to create/teach once he got control of magic's scale in equestria, so they come as reminders of where Chris came from
8901182
On your final point probably the most common shipping you can find that has the three of them together at least from the point of Chrysy and Cadance being lesbian lovers if not a proper heard
I hate in a fanfic where somebody wholesale takes a move or something from a popular tv show/anime and verbatim uses it, but that’s a personal gripe, I personally think it’s tacky.
The chapters fine otherwise, even if I also personally felt that this chapter was a forgone conclusion between comments you had left and the lead up to it in general.
Not even remotely what I expected to happen... But sooooooooooo much better than anything I anticipated!
M. Night Shyamalan would be proud.

I didn't forget he's Human. I can't forget because it's one of those things that this story won't let you forget when it's trying to remind you how uber cool the main character supposedly is.
The fact is that it's so ridiculous out of place that is just wrong and to the point that I thought I was literally reading a different story.
The excuse that he's from the human world is weak. I guess if you introduce a japanese character into the Harry Potter world then it's completely OK for them to bust out the Sharingan or summon a Gundam patronus?
i have to say i am vary supersized this is a awesome spin of the wedding.
must be a Monday.
Now we just need aspect to not just instantly trust all the schemers . It would just seem messed up if he just up and trusts them all of a sudden whenever hes free.
I knew it! Pupa really is Aspect's granddaughter.
This chapter is very clever! A prefect spin and blend of the canon and this universe! Although I expect some explanation in the next chapter. (why do I feel like I will read something similar to Oceans-12's flashback style?)
... but did Aspect really teach her DBZ moves? I thought Megan came before DBZ hit America?
NOICE!! A great new chapter. Hell, I like how you made Chryssie a good guy.

Your counter point is horribly weak. First the story has already made quiet a few pop culture references for "stuff from the human world" so similarities in names like Mirror Move but techniques that have different origins is like whining that a taco isn't a taco because know one Hispanic was involved in making it. And whining over the idea of the Kamehameha being used is as childish as whining that your peas are touching your potatoes, since there is no point anywhere that states it couldn't be used in other wolds because of only a passing reference for a connection point with how the move has been explained to work. So the names could be changed but it really wouldn't matter this stories Mirror Move would be the same and it would still be a Kamehameha. Now to your point with Harry Potter who is to say someone couldn't basically have a gundam for a patronus aside from size after all they look like living suits are armor which are a thing in that world, and the concept of the Sharingan isn't unique to Naruto hell it isn't even unique to Japan
I thought you two had learned well with that last chapter of Shifting Melodies where things got... weird.
Nope. This thing is a train wreck of disastrous proportions.

You're forgetting that Christopher is a human being brought to Equestria (actually, to Dream Valley, then to Equestria) from Earth.
A teenaged human male.
A teenaged human male who would have watched things like anime, played games like Pokemon. And once he became the teenage fantasy hero archetype, with phenomenal cosmic powers, he might have...'borrowed' from those pop culture things he played and watched.
As to Arabus, Arabus is the Aspect of -Air-. Air is mutable, ever shifting, adapting, changing, and flowing. The other Aspects? They're ideals, concepts, or elements that are far, far less malleable. The way I see it is this.
Arabus is one of, if not the, most recent Aspect that Christopher 'slew' and absorbed. He watched the others. He couldn't help it. Being Air, he's everywhere that isn't covered by water. So he watched Christopher's fights against the other violent Aspects, and came up with a tactical strategy remarkably similar to the X parasites from Metroid Fusion. If you cannot beat them...join them. Trojan Horse the hell out of them. Take them over from the inside, adapt their tactics, make their strength yours, and then use it against them.
Arabus just forgot that the other Aspects are now Christopher's children, and they wanna go all Papa Bear on the bastard that wants to kill their Papa Bear.
I didn't personally find any disconnect or dissonance with this chapter. I just think there are people who want to be entertained, and then there are people who are going to go all 'purist' when the story isn't being written according to the train tracks laid out by Lauren Faust. So, I say to them what I always say when people bitch about other continuities popping up in self/OC-inserts.
It's fanfiction, and it's fanfiction you ain't writing. If you don't like it, don't try to ruin it for everyone else. The only person making you read this is you.

The comments section isn’t here to be a circle jerk though.
Having said that, this chapter was ridiculous. I was willing to look past all the Gary Stu tropes because I liked the world that was being built. I ignored the things that made me cringe, such as the near lack of flaws that Christopher has. Him constantly saying m’lady like it’s a thing people say to women. Ugh I’m out. Y’all have fun with this train wreck.
