This story is a sequel to Adapt and Overcome
The bureaus are ash, scattered to the winds. The Tyrant has fallen, and those who she enslaved, free. Those who followed willingly face justice, be it that of their fellow sapients, or that of the grave. But for one man, the trials are not over yet. He will find a wonderful, terrifying world, full of creatures that once sought the end of his kind. But something is not right. There is something about this place, something wrong. He'll survive though. Because a man without hope is nothing but a shell waiting to die.
First attempt at an extended adventure. Hope it appeals to you. A warning though.

2: There won't be much in the way of super-humans wandering the world. Those may come later, depending on which direction the story goes. The MC will mostly be exploring undercover. That being said, he still has his augments.
See? It's like insulting the universe. You just don't do it. It had ears. It might not always be listening, but when it is, it will kill you in the balls. Or, in this case, toss you into another world. So yeah, the moral? Be polite and stuff to Fate, Fortune, The Universe, etc.
Anyway; excellent story so far. With any luck, they might find some stuff that can open minds as to the wonders humans did achieve in their time. Maybe a few shipwrecks in the least.
Looking forward to see how Raymond (now Raider) deals with this Tyrant free Equestia. So much potential for shenanigans.

Raider's expectations are just being twisted, aren't they? The Handmaidens seeming nice, Luna who had been with them seeming to be as evil as the Tyrant...
5905300 Glad you liked it, the few CB stories I'd read had Luna being nice with humans. After all, she herself had been forgiven, why not them? Why did she get forgiven, and was given a second chance, and yet an entire species had to die? Not to mention, seeing as she was physically altered by her possession, at least as far as I could tell, she would be horrified by forced transformations. It just strikes too close to home.
Very interesting, very interesting indeed. I'm rather curious where this is going, so I guess I'll be Tracking it then.
As for the premise, I can't say that I haven't seen something similar, though in that one the war has not been won yet. Of course, they are only similar in the most basic of ways: A magitech-augmented man from a TCB-verse slips on a metaphorical banana peel and falls into a non-TCB Equestria. Hilarity ensues. (More or less.)
That said, I'm very much looking forward to the continuation.
5943465 I see your point, but I decided to go another route. Joe Schmoe ends up in Non-CB Equestria, not a super soldier that can go toe to toe with the Sun Bearer. That guy was literally built for that fight, Raymond was an electrician.
5943544 Oh, I know, I just felt that at their core they started out with very similar premises. The details are, obviously, very, very different.
Though, honestly, people get too caught up on have an extra special, super unique, never-before-seen plot and premise. Personally I enjoy seeing the different ways the same basic story can develop based on who's writing it and their take on a particular plot.
On that note, I really should get caught up with that story, I'm... *checks* twenty chapters behind.

5943644 I think Trixie and her friend (or whatever relationship they shared) were introduced in the last chapter I read. What was his name now again? I think his nickname was "the Knight of Germania," or something like that. Bah, I'll find out when I resume reading.
Heh, thinking about that story reminded me of some other stories I need to get back to. Among them are Background Pony (when I feel like the long slog and emotional rollercoaster that story tends to be) and Cultural Artifacts (when I can deal with the headache and confusion).

As you can tell I've been going through all your old stories. I'm rather interested to see more of this one, see the reactions to Luna, see that she can be cleansed, and wonder if Celestia herself was also somehow possessed in the CB storyline.

I'm guessing Raider is just under the effect of poison joke, so seeing the Zecora introduction would be pretty telling.

Depends on the TCB universe. Many are similar until a point after Discord escapes and is resealed. If that were the case, it would be the same until the divergent event that spawned the Xenolestia TCB.

Been awhile. So it seems like it. Interesting premise different as it is from the other story.
Why do I keep doing this to myself?
I knew it’s been three years since last update and despite my belief any fic is never dead until the author says it is, any time beyond two signals the chances to be updated have fallen to Hail Mary levels.
This was interesting. It’s been a few years since I last read a conversion story so this was a good third one for today.
Hope to see more sometime in the future, but don’t feel like I’m pressuring you. I’m not holding my breath, and would be happy to learn which way this goes either way.
Yeah, she'll be the one that I will likely kill/capture first when I meet her in one of those.
