I read this. Why did I read this? Well, as I share a name with the protagonist, it just caught my eye, I suppose.
Maybe it's the nature of a commissioned work to be short, but this was... meh. Nothing about it was bad or wrong, just too lacking to engage me. I had no time to figure out why I should care about the characters, and the fact that they had no history together to start with and just randomly decided to fuck really just ejected me from the premise. I couldn't recover after that.

What a sad ending
You know I read a story similar to this one? The Red light district, suductive bat pony the sexy clothing, very similar to a story that was approved before this one. Might want to check out that story. Can't remeber the name, but it had a bat pony with a saddle on the cover image. I'm not saying you copied that one and changed it a bit, but I would be careful about who you let to see your "story". My work is done here,

The commissioner mentioned that they asked another writer to write a story with the same concept. It could be a result of that, but it could also simply be a coincidence. Also I'm not sure how 'careful' I can be with readers seeing my stories if they're posted on a public site.

It's unclear whether there will be a sequel or not. The commissioner requested the pverall concept, but I took the liberty to have it end in a bitter sweet way (with the commissioner's blessing of course). I'm glad it left an impact and a desire for more. That's something every author strives for.

Indeed, it's always nice for an artist to know people enjoy his work. But the question remains: do you feel like doing a sequel to this tale? Just because it was a commission piece, it doesn't meant you can't do a follow up story for your own enjoyment.

It wouldn't feel right to me to make a sequel with another person's characters. After all, no one knows a person's character better then the creator themselves. It would be like taking control of a person's life that wasn't mine.
And of course, there's always the conundrum that every sequel faces. When it's left alone, the audience is able to develop their own endings and outcomes, but when there's a sequel, that's it. Whatever's in the sequel is fact and is no longer left to ambiguity. So if I were to make a sequel, I would always have that worry that it's not perfect. Having the original commissioner call the shots would remedy this worry as well.
So to summarize, no, I don't think I'd make a follow up on my own free time without hearing from the commissioner first.
