This story is a sequel to Disparity
Last night the impossible happened: Spike asked Rarity to be his special somepony for Hearts and Hooves Day, and she accepted. So what if it took a magic disaster to seal the deal? The most romantic day of the year, and Spike’s life, is about to begin. He’s dreamed of this one chance to win Rarity’s heart for years, and nothing is going to stand in his way; not even Rarity’s strange emotional jumps between happiness and panic.
Although this is technically a sequel, reading Disparity isn't necessary to enjoy what follows.

Spike seeing this went "OH MY GOSH!" and Every thing went dark. Spikey fainted face planting to the floor.
Spikey pumped his clawed fist in the air "Alllllllll RIGHT!"

Twilight looked a Her "What's all this about, It's only Spikes first date?"
"Oh dear, I'm so dreadfully sorry Twilight, I had a rush delivery coming & I wanted to see how this gown looked, I wanted your opinion " Rarity stepped over to and looked at her Spikey Wikey, "I hope I haven't spoiled anything" Twilight & Rarity picked up Spike , As they set him on a chair they could hear him mumble "I Do I do I duh" Rarity blushed "What a sweet heart" Twi stared at her "Were going to have a long long over due talk"
Rarity glanced at spike " Twilight dear please go easy on him" Twilight answered with a giggle "Him? I'm talking about you!"

Rarity sees Fancy Pants enter the cafe' and approaches the table for two, Fancy says " Well I'll be , Hello " Rarity has the look of doom As Fancy continues his greeting "Spike I haven't seen you for the Longest time, Canterlot University " Rarity gasped "What! My Spikey knows Fancy Pants?"
Spike smiles shyly " Sure everpony in Canterlot Knows Mr. Pants" The Adventure continues,

4916807 I've always loved that idea, but I kinda doubt it'd be in university unless Spike's got some genius level education, plus the excuse that he's a top-class pony that'd already be close enough to Celestia (like bring able to arrange a party in her garden) to meet Spike there, possibly even suggesting that Spike's 'playing the peasant' for not using his regal etiquette like he was originally taught (before being Twilight's assistant, because he didn't like that lifestyle)
From hatchling to assistant Bet he had to have some schooling,
Think of him as a Radar from mash with napalm breath, 
Rubbing elbows in Canterlot , Raiding the kitchen with the cooks, Plays piano & what else.
As Spike said "THE DEWIE DECIMAL SYSTEM? Are you kidding me?"

Spike see himself as a knight, But He's got zero social skills when his heart is involved,
He's a fish out of water with Rarity, & Her having being blinded by ambition when her desires raise up/
Rarity's behaviour is very confusing at the moment, I hope she isn't embarrassed to be seen with him, that wouldn't be like her at all.

On a side note: Knew two guys in high school one was a proctor at a college at 15 years of age

Alright, now I'm going to say the magic words..."What. Happens. Next?" This is a pretty good story, I can almost hear the characters speaking in their voices and acting this out as if it was a real episode. Probably would be nice if they would do an episode like this...

I want to see what happens next too. The most I have at the moment is a (detailed) explanation on the nature of dragons and where Spike fits into it. I didn't want to just expand this story to delve into that because… well… like the title says, this is their first date. That's where the focus belongs.
I originally had another chapter on the end dealing with Cheerilee and Spike smoothing things over. That was left out for the very same reason.
