4609264 Alicorn. According to the "Crystal Heart Spell" book by G.M. Berrow, Cadence was once a pegasus, but later is turned into an alicorn by Celestia, and afterward, adopted.
I shall keep an eye on this... I hope this update regularly.

The exact relationship between Celestia and Cadence is certainly an interesting area of exploration that the series doesn't give us enough information on, so I like the idea of this story!
Although, I think adopt-fics in general are territory that's been pretty heavily trafficked already, so as this one progresses I'd hope to see it do something unique to stand out.

What, explain? Why is Cadance an alicorn and how did Celestia go about doing it?
The order here seems a little strange. The chapter starts with Cadance being adopted, but she is still calling Celestia "Princess" in the middle of the chapter. At the end, we learn that Cadance's parents have been dead only a month and Celestia went ahead and alicornified Cadance. Her parents are barely cold!
Well, the pacing might need some work, but I'll have to see where you plan to go with it.

I, too, agree we need more background for Cadence. The closest we have really gotten was in the book "The Crystal Heart Spell". I'd love if Hasbro at least touched on this point in the show but it seemed like pulling teeth to get Fluttershy, Dash, and Applejack's family to be known. We'd be lucky if we ever found out if Scoots had genuine parents. Scootaloo didn't make a positive argument towards having any that cared back in "Parental Glidance".
Sad you cancelled the story. However you definitely did give us a lot to think on. Thanks for sharing.
