...Do you speak English and another language? How the grammar works is different, and so he'll try to talk like how he would in his native language, not how an Equestrian would. At first, that is. He'll learn over time how Equestrian grammar works, and I know it's different than the grammar of a Time Lord's. Because Equestrian doesn't have FOURTEEN DIFFERENT TENSES.

I am only English. no abla englase, no hoba French...no habla...any other language. English is my only language, and I don't know what you mean by 14 different tenses. How does he speak in his own native language? It isn't actually told if Time lords have their own language, just a hint of it since the TARDIS translates everything but his own language.

There's fourteen different Tenses in his native language, due to the fact they're Time Lords. the tenses tells WHEN the event occurred, ergo they have a lot of tenses due to them being a race of time travelers. So he knows his own language, right? And we're positive it's set up different, built all around time instead of other things, like English. So he's forced to UNLEARN his language a little, in order to learn a new one. No hablo ingles- Means I don't speak English in spanish. But the direct translation? No speak (First person form) English. So that's Spanish. They have forms for I, You, He/She/Formal Him/Her, We, plural you, they(He/She/Formal). Now, the language of the Time Lord is most likely based around Time, so the tenses to him are important. So he's used to using all fourteen, whereas he's forced to use only three. It's like someone making it so you cannot use the words: Him/Her, We/Us, Them/They. It's hard to NOT use those, you know?
