If you're curious, I had in mind that she was moving a bit faster than a motor scooter (in the US can to 30 MPH without a license). A collision with a child could be fatal at that speed (and icky).

A lot of FIMfiction writers refer to her as cyan as well, assuming you are talking about Rainbow Dash. Duly noted, though right or wrong I do rather enjoy using the term cyan to describe her color.
Also, thanks for pointing out the typo earlier. I wouldn't surprise me if my works have their share of those. Assuming it's in the same chapter, I'll correct it later.

Disclaimer: dark / tragedy, is on my no read list. so I can only comment on basic structure.
Not a lot to say. You have a solid style. You show well, and I had no problems seeing the world you were narrating. Dialogue did feel a bit surreal in places. You could work on getting more emotion into your conversations.

To answer your questions.... At times this story has difficult for me to write both on a technical level and on the level of feelings for the characters -- I have to setup scenes which are both depressing and really feel-good (and at times bittersweet). My logic is, if it unsettles me in some way, I probably did something right
Their Final Crusade started out as my attempt at a grimdark and I just kept getting ideas and exploring them, it got bigger and more complex. I have the entire thing worked out in my noodle, it's just a matter of writing it out. Even though it's been, at times, very frustrating to write, I simply adore writing this fic. It's a chance for me to explore with the characters, a direction they would never, ever go in the series.
