I very much enjoyed this story. I never saw "Dad's Army," (I'm on the other side of the pond from you, though even I've heard of the show) so I cannot compare it to the original series, but, standing on its own, I found this very entertaining. It's cute without being saccharine, IMHO, anyway. I know it didn't get a huge number of likes, but I think that's from not being in a lot of groups. And not being clop.
If you want, you could change that -- er, the not being in a lot of groups thing, no the clop thing. I'd recommend:

6205835 The story is more based around my favourite sitcom 'Dad's Army', which was set during World War II. The stuff about rationing and evacuation was just common knowledge to me, because I love WWII. It sounds corny, but those first few years were our finest hour.
