Twilight is almost used to being an alicorn now. She's accepted that unexpected change, and is even happy about it, most of the time. Her magical abilities have grown by leaps and bounds, and she's starting to enjoy the freedom offered by flight. While she can't imagine ever being as good as Rainbow Dash, anypony with reasonable standards would by now consider her quite competent in the air.

But despite her growing enthusiasm and confidence, there's something that she has neglected to deal with. Something that's bothered her at times ever since the transformation, but kept getting shuffled down her list of priorities. Fortunately, she knows just the pony to talk to for help, and she won't let nervousness and self-reliant rationalization hold her back anymore. The latest of Pinkie Pie's parties provides a perfect pretext for a conversation she should've had months ago.

Okay...if you've been following me for any length of time, you know that I hated Siege of the Crystal Empire. A lot. I've gone on record and said I consider it the worst comic IDW has ever produced. And that I considered Radiant Hope unsympathetic and do NOT like her.

But I ALSO said I had intents to do fix fics because I felt the amount wasted potential in that comic was a large part of why I hated it.

So when I got this commission, Holycross let me try to fix some of those issues while I was at it.

Note, I didn't say an ACCUSATION fic or a 'beat up the character I dislike' fic. I don't blieve in those.

This wasn't easy to do, given my feelings for the subject matter, but I'm okay with how it came out, I hope you like it!

Micheal Smith, a young man who makes his living by thieving at night. However one night something he could never have even imagined happens and is given an opportunity he simply can't pass up.

The question is, what will happen to Equestria with his coming. Will Micheal resist the temptation of the darkness, or will he embrace it.

Brio Vespers is the last siren in all of Equestria, and public enemy number one. On the run from the royal guard, all he wants is to have a home like when he was young boy. But as he tries just to get by, he finds himself on a journey to find the abandoned City of the Sirens. It may hold the secrets to the past and his future, tell him whether he can be good, or if what his decides who he is. But his life isn't the only one on the line. From the shadows, an unknown threat endangers all Equestria. It may have more to do with Brio's journey that he realizes.

Takes place in the Nurtureverse, an AU where Apple Jack raises a baby siren. Below are a list of stories that take place in the same universe. They are not necessary to read to understand this one, but reading "The Nature of Nurture" is highly recommended, as it's the universe's main story.

Equestria's local draconequus, Discord, is not pleased with his standing in the land of ponies. He doesn't want to be tolerated or feared, he wants to be praised and admired! And yet all he seems to be is that annoying neighbor that others seem to barely deal with.

With his betrayal in joining Tirek and being useless in Starlight Glimmer's recent time shattering attack, Discord has found his happiness saved twice by Princess Twilight. While she and her friends will be remembered for centuries as the ponies who stood up to countless challenges and saved the world itself more than once, all that will be remembered of the draconequus was his short tyrannical reign.

That is not something Discord wants, and he's desperate to find a way to gain the admiration and fame that his seven friends have achieved through their countless selfless acts of duty. So, how does a draconequus like Discord go about winning the hearts of Equestria?

By creating a fake quest with false dangers, villains, and world threatening circumstances of course! In order to be the hero of the story, he needs to create one first, and there's an entire multiverse full of resources he can use in his quest.

Now he just needs to find the right 'partner in crime' to help him start his 'quest'...
