The war is finally over. We ponies have lost. Our plan to convert humanity into ponies has failed. Hundreds of thousands are dead. Homes destroyed. Our nation is shattered and near annihilation. All because we underestimated humanity and their refusal to become like us.

I alone now hold the fate of my people in my hooves against the humans who want nothing more than to destroy us for the so called atrocities we have committed against them. I've lost my friends one way or another. My family. My fellow Princesses.

I have but one duty and that is, reluctantly, to see that we are shown mercy.

I'm just afraid of the cost. Or what I will learn from this.

The worlds are changed.

Where Equestria was set to follow a familiar path of harmony and friendship, the path is waylaid by the appearance of a creature out of myth, bearing grave tidings.

Lyra Heartstrings, musician and dreamer, previously content to spend her life in the shadow of Princesses or their faithful students, must now decide the role she’ll play in this new reality. When humanity's first FTL capable ship lands on Equis the residents are terrified and the crew have to negotiate with the races of Equis, some who look at them as animals, others who hate them for their advancement over them and whose who look at them as possible ally's, friends and something more?
Private Ryan is just a marine who survived the fall, but when he gets flung out into a new world everything changes for him. Now he has to protect the only human settlement on Equis while dealing with his species dark past of genocide and destruction.
Join him and a few more soldiers in a fight to quite possibly ensure the survival of humanity.

Richard Emmerson, a retired US cavalryman, and his somehow talking horse, Coal, are transported to Equestria. Their circumstances lead them to adventure all around the land and cause quite a commotion. Join them in their undertaking to find a way back home as they dodge all sorts of obstacles in this seemingly hostile environment.

Author's Update: This story has been placed on hiatus for the time being. I am more focused and have more drive to finish "Put it to Rest" at the present moment. In addition, this was my very first story and contains a lot of nonsensical plot points, weird characters just popping out of nowhere, and plots that I basically glued together with a bunch of Elmer's glue and threw it in. I hate to admit it, but when I started this story, I was in my edgy teen stage and it CLEARLY shows. I'm still trying to figure out where I'm taking this story or if I want to continue it at all. If I end up cancelling it, I will make sure to release what I envisioned ended up happening to Richard in the end. I'll likely rewrite it as well since I think the concept of an old US Cavalryman engaging in Equestrian society is an interesting one, just not well-executed here.

James Kaughn is a member of the world's most elite fighting force, but when his team is sent in to rescue a captive family in Afghanistan the mission hits a snag. He stays behind to allow the others to escape, fully expecting to die, but ends up in an unfamiliar place. Join him as he meets new challenges and struggles with his worsening PTSD. Will he be able to actually make friends and not just teammates?

2015: World War II continues to rage, with the world split between the Allied Federation and the Third Reich. Transported to this alternate world following a freak accident. Twilight Sparkle finds herself trapped in a world gone mad, as she struggles to survive she soon learns that friendships forged in fire are just as legitamate as friendships forged by compassion.
