What does it mean to be truly Immortal? If your body is everlasting but your mind is not, is it worthwhile to have a lifespan that exceeds the Universe's?

Philosophical questions aside, the former princesses of a long-dead land find themselves trapped in an endless void. With nothing to do but wait, how will they fare with the countless eons ahead of them?

Basically, think Waiting for Godot... with ponies... in space. (Don't bother to ask how they're able to talk, though.)

Every night when Pinkie Pie goes to bed, Pinkamina rises. Using the cryptic powers of the Pinkie Sense, she deciphers the clues and goes out to prevent the deaths of others. Meanwhile, the Stallion Lickity Split is developing feelings for Pinkie's darker half, and the Royal Sisters do NOT like Pinkamina messing with fate.

Applejack's life is turned upside-down after she suddenly inherits the full powers of a goddess. She insists that it isn't a big deal and that she's the same pony as always, just bigger. Meanwhile, everypony else starts making demands on her and placing expectations on the 'new princess'. When the constant stream of petitions and gawkers starts interfering with farm work, Applejack reacts a bit strongly. Luna, fearing the worst, is determined to rescue Applejack from corruption, further irritating the farm pony. Will Applejack accept her destiny, or is destiny what you make of it?

So begins yet another chilly autumn in Equestria. While making her annual preparations for the winter, Twilight Sparkle comes across four jet black volumes in a dilapidated section of the Canterlot Archives. With Princess Luna's blessing, Twilight begins the long, arduous process of translating the ancient tomes. Before long, she begins experiencing horrifying dreams and visions of distant dimensions and indescribable monstrosities.

This is an attempt at blending the My Little Pony universe with Lovecraft's iconic cosmic horror.
Rated T for potential violence and nihilistic themes.

Some things are meant to remain secret; to forever toil in the shadows behind a smiling facade of playfulness and friendship. Rarity happens across such a secret one star-filled night, but can she steer towards the light, or with the intoxicating and seductive brew of power overcome her judgement? After all, that which should be feared the most is the friendly pony with the dagger behind their back.

Twilight's relentless study of Pinkie's strange abilities leads to a horrifying revelation.

This site really needs an existential horror tag.

Deep in the Royal Library is a book. A terrible book that is said to send whoever reads it mad. A book so dangerous that it has to be hidden away and secured with chains to prevent it from ever being opened.

A book which has just been accidently checked out by Spike on behalf of Twilight Sparkle.

The Star In Yellow is rising once more, and only Rainbow Dash and Spike can save Twilight before it's too late. Ideas live forever. Ponies do not.

This fic is loosely inspired by the 19th century story 'The King In Yellow'.

When the enigmatic Lyra Hoofstep arrives in Ponyville, nopony makes much of her. After she befriends Lyra Heartstrings however, strange events begin to unfold. Soon, Twilight Sparkle finds herself caught up in a quest for knowledge that may be better left in the dark.

And that's that. This is my first fanfiction, so I would definitely like some feedback. In particular, I was trying to imitate the style of H.P. Lovecraft, and I want to know if I succeeded. Other comments and suggestions are welcome, of course.

Lyra and BonBon go on holiday to the new resort of Mare-On-Sea, and learn of Hinnysmouth, a disreputable seaside village further up the coast. Despite misgivings, they decide to visit Hinnysmouth, and soon regret their curiosity.
