The failed plans of Queen Chrysalis have lead her hive to an all time low. Flung into a desolate region by the power of Cadence and Shining Armour's spell, Queen Chrysalis falls into a brooding sadness. She she is tired of being queen and sets out on her own. Determined to leave behind all the problems of the past and get as far away from her incompetent underlings as possible. Seeing their queen so down her remaining drones and workers try their best to cheer her up. But thinking isn't their strong point, so their efforts lead to a number interesting failures.

(This is planned to be a short story for the "Love me, love my hive." event on Equestria daily.)

Chrysalis tries her hoof at a cooking show. However, the meal isn't something everyone will agree with.

Defeated and separated from her beloved hive, Chrysalis finds herself at a quaint little town named Ponyville. Fuming and down on her luck, she also finds herself in much need of love. But as our dear changeling queen discovers, love can come from the most unexpected sources.

Chrysalis dreamed of a day when her children wouldn't need to steal love to survive, but that day would never come while she drew breath. She dared to hope once, but she knew the price of freedom, and she paid it. In the end, the fall wasn't what killed her.

Queen Chrysalis believes she has just written her magnum opus.

A changeling gets a very risky and clever idea.
Pretending to be an advanced magic doll left as an anonymous gift in front of Twilight Sparkle's home.
It's so audaciously stupid there is no way it's not going to work.

Hmmm... Ever had the feeling that something is missing or wrong? That something shouldn't happen yet it does? Strangely enough, I'm feeling that way. And so does my new allies.

...

...Oh, did I forgot to mention my new allies are a bunch of pony-shaped creatures that feed on love? No? Well, they are. And the leader, Chrysalis, won't bug off me. Heh, get it? Bug off, cuz, you know, they have holes.... and look like insects and.... oh whatever.

The thing is, I'm not exactly a changeling. What's that supposed to mean? It means, I'm a human in a changeling's body........

And I DON'T LIKE IT!

Let's just hope things turn out for the best in the near future... Cuz I'm gonna need a lot of luck and miracles to make it out unscratched... but something tells me in won't be that way.

Ashardu here, with some news!

I have a 'Bitching allowed' rule where if someone dislikes my story, I wish to know why. No matter the reason, I just want to know. Doesn't hurt to know a few things about my story, does it?

And last but not least, The whole story is gonna be affected about how much love it receives. If it is well-received, then it might go further than originally expected. Otherwise, I'll keep it to the same development. Got it?

Stalwart Drone has been a Night Guard for a little over two years, and now he's being reassigned to the Crystal Empire, forced to leave his home and his talent behind only to have to readjust to living up in the frozen north.

Ruby Swift, conversely, has been in Equestria for most of her life, and recently she's taken a... darker look on life.

Forced to live in the same house as one another, the unlikely duo are going to have to live with what they fear.
At least, for now anyway.

Twilight isn't having a very good day. An experimental spell blew up in her face, an army of changelings is attacking Canterlot, and she just died. Yet somehow, it looks like it's going to keep going downhill from here.

Given the chance to correct what's gone wrong, Twilight swears she's going to fix all this even if it kills her. Which it will. Frequently.
