We all know how the story goes. About how Twilight found and united the Elements of Harmony and defeated Nightmare Moon, preventing the world from going dark and giving Luna a chance for redemption.

However, what if one of the Mane Six hadn't been a normal pony but a monster that was shunned and feared by others? How would the story have gone?

Follow us now as we tell the same story, only this time Fluttershy, the Element of Kindness is not a normal pegasus, but instead is a gorgony. A creature with snakes for a mane and can turn any creature to stone with a glance.

Out of all the mythical creatures I have read about my top favorite are vampires and gorgons. So I was greatly dismayed when I saw how few stories there were that had actual gorgon ponies in them, here on FiMFiction. Thus I decided to write this little fic. I hope you all enjoy.

While I only intended to cover the first two episodes of the show (the pilot episodes), if enough people are interested I may try to create some more stories with Gorgon-shy based around other episodes in the series.

Herman always believed that ponies were an exceedingly friendly bunch, and he figured it was in their nature to be open and kind to all strangers—even to those of different races. But what if he was wrong? What if there was another explanation?

He mentions this fact in his memoirs, but shortly after he sends them to be published he is informed that the Royal Guard wants him for questioning in Canterlot.

So, I was living a fairly normal life, going to school, reading fanfics, marvelling at the magnificence of the internet and humanity at large, you know, a totally normal person. Then, suddenly, I wasn't. No biggie, because every brony's dream came true for me: I was reborn as a pony, an Alicorn even! That sounds great, right? Ah, aha, um, nope! You've all heard the story before; guy goes to convention, gets a cool artifact, and then gets teleported to Equestria, and then turns into what he's dressed as. That's the story going around. However, at least they can talk. Have you ever tried communicating with ponies when they not only don't speak the same language as you, but you can't even talk back because that fire-breathing hole in your face can't form coherent words? It's kind of hard. Well, as you may have guessed, that happened to me, except I didn't even make it to the con. No, instead, I put on my costume beforehand, and I end up getting summoned here by Celestia's own student, who thought she'd summoned something else. Now everyone's trying to kill me or something, and I didn't even DO anything!

Oh, and I can't even talk, like I said. Ain't life just grand? Egh... At least I have my sword... Don't ask how much THAT cost me.

Artorias. Second in command to the Four Knights of Lord Gwyn. Having trekked the abyss once, and was told once again to, Sif and himself venture to Oolacile, only to find it's inhabitants turned against their will by Manus. After he and Sif venture into the Chasm of the Abyss, Artorias finds himself surrounded by strange creatures. In a desperate attempt, he tries attacking with sword, but it goes through them, he bashes with his shield, and the Abyssal creature destroys his arm. Able to no longer carry the burden of his shield, he gave it to his wolf companion as the Abyss swallows him and changes him...

Not long after, the Chose Undead finds himself triumphant against Artorias, sending the corrupted Knight fading away....
Although, this is not the end of our Abyss walking friend...
