Sitting on the bookshelf in Strawberry Sunrise's new home in Ponyville is a diary.

That's not unusual; many ponies have diaries.

Some of her neighbors have seen her writing in it, wherever she goes.

Again, that isn't terribly strange; many ponies like recording their day-to-day thoughts and activities.

If somepony were to snoop into it, they'd find a few pages of doodles, scratched-out notes, and half-finished shopping lists.

This, curiously, is the peculiar part. Not because of what anypony would read, of course, but because it looks exactly nothing alike to what any changeling would read upon those same pages.

Thorax was always considered a nuisance to the Hive. He was useless, he wasn’t Changeling enough, and so he was shunned.

Eventually, his brother was forced to ask him to leave.

Now, it’s Pharynx’s turn, and it’s put both of the brothers in each other’s hooves.

The changeling hive, known for being enemies of ponykind has a new addition to their hive. An earth filly who was found in the everfree forest by a changeling. with nothing else to do with it, she is brought back to the hive and presented to the ruthless queen, Chrysalis.

Chrysalis is spent. Starved of emotion and on the run from ponies seeking retribution, she flees into the depths of the Whitetail Woods. Her hive is scattered and all hope seemingly lost.

But fate often delivers a path forward when least expected.

Coming upon a new home, Chrysalis now faces a difficult choice no member of Changeling royalty has faced before; endure a lonely and sad demise, or sacrifice everything she was to create a new future.

Idol Hooves is the only changeling in the entire Equestrian Guard, and has been proudly serving for over a decade (while disguised). His enlistment buddy and friend, Shining Armor, the current Captain of the Guard, is finally taking the next step to officially becoming Princess Cadence' s personal guard, 24/7.

With most guards being reassigned to the wedding, Idol (by Luna's demand) is given the temporary assignment to be Princess Luna's personal gaurd due to a shortage in the Night Gaurds numbers.

Now, after another all-nighter looking for potential threats and with Idol's persistence, Luna finally agrees and turns in for the day. With Idol Hooves being the sole guard watching Luna's door, a promise was made that could ruin Eqauestria.

Princess Luna will get her well deserved rest, and nothing short of Princess Celestia herself will wake the deathly tired princess.

I have spent my whole life in the hive, learning to be an infiltrator. But now Chrysalis has fled, and everything has changed. I don't know what I'm going to do next.

Yes, she does have amazing friends that have stood by her through thick and thin, yes, she does have a supportive and kind family, and she is the student of Princess Celestia herself. But she can't shake off the feeling that she is missing out on life.

How many other sights are there to be seen, how many ponies are there to meet, how many challenges will she never face by being in Ponyville, by being Twilight Sparkle?

One day she has finally had enough and fueled by a several months long rut and scientific curiosity she decides to go through with the most insane plan imaginable in order to put her doubts to rest.

Chrysalis has a pirate ship now. Unfortunately, most of Equestria is landlocked, but that won't stop her.

If my timing is correct, this story will come out immediately after a sad story about a suicidal Sunburst from someone else on the new stories page. I just thought that was funny. Still, it doesn't seem bad, so maybe go read it

In the year 1011 ALB, Queen Chrysalis declared war on Equestria. She and her High Command believed that the Equestrians would be easily crushed underneath the treads of their tanks and pushed back by their powerful changeling rifles. However, they were quickly proven wrong as their forces met the heavily fortified positions of the Equestrian military. After months of a painful stalemate, the High Command had a brilliant idea. They began deploying infiltrators into the Equestrian fortifications to weaken and surprise the defenders for the oncoming attackers.

One particular changeling was deployed to an Equestrian fortification, weeks in advance. On the promised day, he sits in a trench, waiting for the arrival of his brothers and sisters. But, will they come? And what happens to the mare that he became friends with if they do come?
