After the defeat of Discord, the spirit of chaos, the birthrate of Equestria mysteriously comes to a standstill. With no new foals, the pony population quickly declines. Decades later, with the passing of the last pony, Celestia and Luna enact a plan to undo what has been done. Does their salvation lay in an all-too-familiar stone statue in the royal gardens, or is the pony race doomed?

Equestria has made the discovery of the century. They found what they believed to be the last of the mythical race of the humans trapped inside of a large crystal. Curiosity takes hold and with the help of Twilight Sparkle and the elements of harmony they decide to set it free. But was that a wise decision?

For Twilight Sparkle, this isolated incident might have faded from memory after a time, if not for the strange rumors of a creature sitting on the hill on the outskirts of town.

Out of unnamed circumstance, a strange pony has arrived into Equestria with no memory of his former self. In a dark place named Tartarus, a subterranean hellscape between worlds, humans and ponies are paired together at random to survive a gauntlet of horrible monstrocities while the future of their realms hang in the balance.

Meet Rabbit, aptly named because this human was dragged into Equestria when Trixie's 'rabbit-in-the-hat' trick went horribly... awry. I'm going to use the word 'awry.' Very much stuck in a land of namby-pamby ponies and harmonious friendship, Rabbit teams up with The Great and Powerful Trixie in an attempt to survive whatever Equestria can throw at him.
