Octavia makes an Unexpected friend which grows into something more
Octavia is part of the elite in Cantelot who falls for a commoner of the same gender. However, this is highly looked down upon in this city. Vinyls and Octavias friendship grows until where they can no longer hide their feelings for each other, but how will everyone else react and how will Octavia react when she is told something she does not agree with.
Bells ring from a clocktower in the city of Canterlot, the time reads 9:00 PM, people begin walking out of a concert hall, an orchestra practice had just ended.
“Just one more week until the concert, your solo sounds amazing Octavia.” Lyra smiled.
“Thanks, Lyra, your harp playing sounds really good too.” Octavia complemented.
“Hay Octavia we should go to the Neo-Electro club, it will be fun, and Bon Bon said she will meet us there,” Lyra asked.
“I don't know Lyra, I am not really a club-goer.” Octavia started. “Come to think of it I have never even been to a nightclub before.” Octavia thought.
“Aww come, Octavia, it will be fun I promise you.” Lyra wined.
“Well, I guess I could go for a little bit,” Octavia said.
“Great let's go!” Lyra said excitedly as she grabbed Octavia hand and pulled her along.
“Lyra!” Octavia shouted.
Octavia Philharmonica is a 21-year-old woman who has nobel parents. She has lived a striced life. However, sense Octavias’ resent 21st birthday her parents have started to give her a little more freedom in her life. In Octavia early life she did not have much contact with the outside world. The only contact she had was with nobel guest that would come over for dinner parties. The only other contact was with the servant her parents had, but it wasn't like this was a bad life for her. She is treated like a nobel and her parents just have a high expectation of her. At 8 years old she began playing the cello, and she quickly became proficient at the instrument. When she was 14 she joined the Canterlot symphony orchestra, and by the time she was 18 she was 1st cellist. Being in the orchestra was Octavias first real exponents with people, and this is where she met her friend Lyra Heartstrings.
Now Lyra is a different story she is one year older than Octavia, and she does come from a rich family. However, she has a lot more freedom than Octavia. There is one thing that her parents did not want her to do, and that was get with another woman. In the Canterlot elite society, it was healy look down upon if you were in a relationship with someone of the same gender. Octavia and Lyra had been friends for years, and when Lyra told Octavia that she was in a relationship this a woman named BonBon, Octavia did not know what to think, but after listening to Lyra go on and on about how this was the perfect person for her Octavia began to not see it as the disgrace that everyone else would have if they knew.
Once they got to the club Octavia started to get a little nervous.
“It will be fine Octavia, you will have I promise,” Lyra assured.
“I hope so,” Octavia replied.
The club was reasonably packed, it wasn't overflowing, but there was still a good number of people there.
“Hey, guys.” A voice ringed from the loud atmosphere.
“BonBon there you are,” Lyra said.
“I did not think you would actually get Octavia out here.” BonBon said.
“It took some convincing,” Lyra remarked.
“Alright everyone let’s do this!” A voice echoed throughout the club.
Everyone looks over towards the DJ booth she a woman with blue electric hair starting up the music. The bass rocks the club and the people began cheering. Octavia was looking at the DJ and could not seem to take her eyes off of her. It was like some force was keeping her from looking away.
“Octavia, OCTAVIA!” Lyra shouted.
Octavia snapped out of her trance. “Who, who is that DJ,” Octavia asked.
“Her, that's DJ PON3, no one knows her real name, she is one of the best DJ in all of Canterlot,” Lyra respond. “What you got a thing for her, I mean you were staring at her long enough.”
“Don't be ridiculous Lyra,” Octavia shout back.
Lyra and BonBon giggled. Seeing this Octavia stormed of deeper into the club until she found herself at the DJ booth. The DJ started to walk off when she was stopped by Octavia.
“Um hello I. I just wanted to ask, what's your name?” Octavia ask.
“My name, how do you not know me, I am DJ PON3.” the DJ answered.
“No, I mean your real name,” Octavia remarked.
“Listen, only a few people know my real name, and it is going to stay like that.” the DJ laughed.
“I will buy you drinks all night if you tell me..” Octavia smirked.
“Now you're speaking my language. Ok names Vinyl, Vinyl Scratch, and your name.” Vinyl finished.
“My name is Octavia, Octavia Philharmonica,” Octavia replied.
“That's a long name mind if I just called you Octy for short,” Vinyl asked.
“Don’t call me that,” Octavia said.
“Alright Octy come on I need a drink.” vinyl said.
“What did I get myself into,” Octavia whispered.
The two walked over to the bar and sat down.
“You know Octy you don't look like the kind of person that would be at a place like this, what brings you down here,” Vinyl asked.
“My friend Lyra brought me down here,” Octavia answered.
“And where is she now,” Vinyl asked.
“She is over there with her other friend BonBon.” Octavia pointed.
“Oh, hay I have seen through two before. I saw them the last time I was here.” vinyl said.
“What can I get for you two lady.” the bartender asked.
“We will have two margaritas.” Vinyl replied.
“You are going to drink two,” Octavia asked.
“No, you’re going to drink one too.” Vinyl said.
“What. I never said I was going to drink anything.” Octavia said.
“You can’t come out to a club and not drink. I am guessing this is your first time being out to a club, and having a drink for the mater.” Vinyl started. “You’ll like it I promise.”
“Are you sure Vinyl,” Octavia said.
“Positive.” Vinyl said.
“Here you two ladies go. The bartender said.
“Thanks, dude.” Vinyl replied.
Vinyl began to drink while Octavia just looks at it until working up the courage to take a drink. Once she had taken the first sip she was immediately hooked. She began to gulp the entire drink down.
“Woh hay! Don’t drink so fast Octy.” Vinyl said.
Octavia slammed the cup on the bar
“I will take another one bartender,” Octavia shouted.
Vinyl looked at Octavia as the bartender brought her another drink.
“She is awesome,” Vinyl whispered.
“What was that,” Octavia asked.
“Uh I… just wanted to give you my number here.” Vinyl said. Taking out her phone. Octavia did the same the two exchanged number and spent the rest of the night talking and drinking. It was now 2 in the morning, and most of the club goers had left already. Still Vinyl and Octavia sat at the bar talking until Lyra and BonBon walked over.
“Hay Octavia its two in the morning we should probably head home now.” BonBon said.
By this point, Lyra had passed out and BonBon was carrying her.
“Oh my I need to get home, but I don't really feel to goooood. Octavia slerd as she began to fall over. She would have hit the ground if Vinyl hadn’t cot her.
“Looks like you are going to have to take her home DJ.” BonBon said.
“What me why.” Vinyl protested.
“Because you got her drunk, and I have to carry this fool home. Here is her address.” BonBon said slipping her a piece of paper before walking out.
“Well, I guess it the least I can do. She did pay for all of these drinks.” Vinyl whispered.
Vinyl picked up Octavia and began to carry her home. However, something that Vinyl was not expecting happened. Octavia wrapped her arms around Vinyl. This stunned Vinyl for a minute, but something in her did not mind it. In fact, she actually liked it. Vinyl brushed Octavia hair away from her face and smiled once she saw her sleeping face.
Light beamed through the window of Octavias’ bedroom. As the light hits her face she sturs, then grownes.
“Oh, my head.” Octavia started. “What happen last night.”
Before she had time to think about last night a knock came from her door.
“Come in,” Octavia said.
“Good morning Lady Octavia.” Octavias’ servant started. “Don't feel too good after last.”
“Ya, my head really hurts,” Octavia replied
“It’s called a hangover, here take these.” the servant said handing her some pills. “It was nice of that blue haired woman to bring you home since you were passed out.”
“Blue-haired woman, OH Vinyl scratch. Ya, I met her the club Lyra took me to.” Octavia said.
“Right, about that, your parents would like to speak to you about that. I would hurry up and get dressed, best to not keep them waiting.” the servant finished.
“O ok, thanks for letting me know Spectrum,” Octavia said
“It’s what I am hear for my lady.” Spectrum replied.
Spectrum left the room. Octavia quickly got dressed and ran downstairs to her parents. She walked into the family room where she saw her parents talking
“Mom, dad you wanted to see me,” Octavia said.
“Yes Darling, we wanted to talk to you about last night.” Octavias’ father, Blaze said.
“What were you thinking, going out to a nightclub!” Octavias’ mother, Crystal shouted.
“Now Crystal we said I was going to do the talking,” Blazed told Crystal.
Crystal sighed and sat down.
“Wait how did you know I went to a nightclub,” Octavia asked.
“You came home passed drunk and carried by a DJ with blue hair. It’s either that or is there something else you need to tell us.” Blaze answers.
“No, dad.” Octavia replied. “Am I in trouble.
Octavia's mom was about to stand up and say something, but Octavias’ dad answered before she could say anything.
“No your not. Just tell next time you're going to be out late. And try not to come home passed out again. Now go, me and your mother need to talk.”
“I will have a good day mom have a good day dad,” Octavia said then ran off back to her room.
“Why did you not give her a punishment,” Crystal asked.
“She is a 21-year-old woman dear we can keep treating her like a child,” Blaze answered.
Crystal gave her husband an angry glare.
“Whatever, let's go we have to start getting everything ready.” Crystal ended.
Octavia ran up to her room, she grabbed her phone and scrolled through her contacts until she found Vinyls number. Once she found it she took a deep breath, then taped on the number. Across town Vinyl, Scratch lay sleeping on her bed until she was suddenly awoken by her phone going off. She rolls off of her bed and hits the floor with a thud.
“Ow,” Vinyl said.
After picking herself up off the floor she looks at her phone to see who is calling. Her eyes shot open when she saw that is was Octavia calling, without hesitation she accepted the call.
“Hay Octy.” Vinyl began the conversation.
“Vinyl hay, I was worried you weren’t going to pick up,” Octavia said.
“Well, I am surprised you remember I gave you my number, you were pretty wasted last night.” Vinyl said.
“ya, about that, can we meet somewhere to talk about what happen last night because I don’t remember much,” Octavia asked.
“Uh ya, sure, um how about we meet at midtown cafe.” Vinyl suggested.
“Ya that would be great, meet there in about 15 minutes,” Octavia said.
“Uh, can we make it 30 I kinda just woke up.” Vinyl said.
“Ya that's fine, see you in there,” Octavia said.
“See ya.” Vinyl said.
Octavia hung up the phone and began getting ready. Vinyl, on the other hand, sat on her bed and thought for a moment.
“There is something about her, but I can’t explain it,” Vinyl whispered.
Vinyl then got up and got ready.
Octavia arrived at MidTown Cafe about 5 minutes early. Octavia is always early she got a table and then waited for Vinyl. She sat there and thought about what she was going to say to Vinyl. The 5 minutes passed and right when the clock says 12:30 Vinyl walks in. She sees Octavia sitting at a table and walks over to her.
“VInyl it’s good to see you again.” Octavia began.
“You too. So what did you want to talk about?” Vinyl asked.
“Just what happened last night after I got drunk?” Octavia asked.
“Oh. well, we just talked about thing, then you passed out, and then your friend, what's her name, BonBon told me to take you home. So then I carried you back home. Vinyl said.
“Oh is that all?” Octavia asked
“Ya. Also, you didn’t tell me you lived in a mansion with servent. I about had a heart attack when I saw someone walk towards me in the dark, but he called out and said that he was your servant. I was a little hesitant to had you over right then and there, but then he made it really clear that he was your servant, and then I went home.” Vinyl rambled.
“You were hesitant to have me over?” Octavia questions.
“Ya, it was some random person just walked up to me and said I am lady Octavias’ servant. I didn’t know what to make of it at first.” Vinyl said,
Octavia giggled after hearing that.
“What's so funny,” Vinyl asked.
“You were on my property. Who did you think it was?” Octavia asked.
“Hay there is some bad people out there. I just wanted to make sure you were safe.” Vinyl said.
“Well, that was really sweet of you Vinyl. Ok so since I can’t remember much of last night. Can you start telling me things about you? I need to know things about my friends.” Octavia said.
“Wait you actually want to be friends with me. Some person you just met last night at a nightclub.” Vinyl said.
“Well ya, I want to be friend with you. You seem like a lovely person to have as a friend. And if you were going to do something to me you would have done it when I was passed out.” Octavia said
“Ok fair enough. Well, to start I am 21 years old.” Vinyl started but was interrupted by Octavia.
“Wait, your only 21, but you act like you have been drinking for years,” Octavia said.
“ya I kinda lie about my age when I am DJing, anyway I got into electro music when I was 6 and by the time I was 12 I had become really awesome at DJing, and everything was going really good in my life. Then, when I was 18 both my parents died. They were killed in a car crash, and I was left alone.” Vinyl said looking like she was about to cry.
“Oh Vinyl I am so sorry for your loss,” Octavia said
“Thanks, Octy. I haven't had a real friend to tell talk to about this.” Vinyl said.
“Well, you have one now,” Octavia said as she stood up and walked over to hug Vinyl. Vinyl accepted the hug. “Now let’s talk about more happy things.”
“Ya, OH I have so really funny stories to tell you.” Vinyl said.
The sat there and talked for hours, talking about there lives and getting to know each other better. Vinyl finally had a friend she could talk to, and Octavia got herself a friend that her parent probably won't approve of, but she did not care.
“What it’s 6 already. I am sorry Octy, but I have a gig tonight.” Vinyl said.
“Oh no, it’s fine. I have to get home anyways, it was really nice talking to you. “Octavia said.
“It was nice talking to you too.” Vinyl said as she got up and began to walk out of the cafe. “Hay I’ll call you later.”
“Ok, by Vinyl.” Octavia waved.
“By Octy.” Vinyl waved.
“I really wish she would stop calling me that,” Octavia whispered.
Octavia began her walk home, that was until she spotted Lyra.
“Lyra how are you,” Octavia asked.
“Hay Octavia, I’m good, How are you,” Lyra said.
“I’m good too. I just spent most of the day to Vinyl, the DJ from last night.” Octavia said.
“You actual became friends with the DJ. I’m surprised. I didn’t think you want to be friends with someone like that. Dang!
Now I Have to give BonBon 20 bits.” Lyra rambled.
“You know she is not the kind of person you think she would be,” Octavia said.
“Tell me all about it tomorrow night at practice, I gotta get home,” Lyra said.
“Ya same. By Lyra.” Octavia waved.
“By Octavia.” Lyra waved.
When Octavia finally arrived home she was surprised to see a lot of car outside the main gate.
“Mother and father must be having a dinner party,” Octavia said.
Octavia walked inside and was greeted by Spectrum.
“Good evening Lady Octavia. How was your day.” Spectrum asked.
“Hey Spectrum, I had a wonderful day. How was yours.” Octavia said.
“It was as good as it could be Lady Octavia. Your parents and their guest are in the lounge.” Spectrum said.
“Thanks, spectrum,” Octavia said.
Octavia walks into the lounge to find her parents talking to their guest. One of these guests was Prince BlueBlood. BlueBlood always visited once a week he would always try and spend time with Octavia when he is here, but Octavia would mostly just ignore him by going into her room and practice her cello. Octavia always wondered why he would come over. At first, Octavia thought this could be a friend for her, but then she found out that he was 15 years older than her. Why would her parent try and make her be friend with someone so much older than her? She still to this day doesn’t why she just ignores him when he is over. After seeing him Octavia tried to leave before she was seen.
“Octavia darling, there you are,” Crystal said.
“Hello mother,” Octavia said.
“Octavia where have you been,” BlueBlood asked.
“I was hanging out with my friend Vinyl,” Octavia said.
“Who is this Vinyl, I haven’t heard of her.” Blaze said.
“It was someone I met last night at the nightclub,” Octavia said.
“Wait, is it this person a commoner,” Blueblood asked.
“Yes, she is,” Octavia said with a straight face.
“A noble, friends with a commoner. That is unheard of. Why would a noble elite want to be friends with a commoner.” BlueBlood said.
“I don't have to explain myself to you BlueBlood,” Octavia said. “Now if you excuse me I need to go practice my cello.” Octavia left the lounge and up to her room. She then grabbed her cello and began to practice.
The sound of Octavias’ cello fills her room. She had been practicing for about 4 hours now. It was now 11 o'clock, Octavia wasn’t the kind of person to stay up late, but tonight was different. She was waiting for a call from Vinyl who said she would her later tonight. Just when Octavia was about to go to bed her phone began to ring. She quickly ran over and answered it.
“Vinyl! Hay! How was your night.” Octavia began.
“Hay Octy! I had an awesome night! How was your night, but I know there is no way your night was an awesome as mine.” Octavia said.
“Well, I had an awesome night because I gotta play my cello all night long,” Octavia said.
“Like I said. My night was way better.” Vinyl said.
“Oh Vinyl I wanted to ask you something,” Octavia said.
“What is it Octy,” Vinyl asked.
“I was wondering if you would want to come to my orchestra concert next week,” Octavia asked.
“An orchestra concert, I don't know Octy I am not really into that kind of music.” Vinyl said.
“Oh come on Vinyl! It will be fun I promise.” Octavia said.
“Did you just use my words against me.” Vinyl said.
“I don’t know what you are talking about,” Octavia said.
“Oh, your good. Ok fine, I will go to your concert.” Vinyl said.
“Really! You're the best Vinyl.” Octavia said.
“Ya, I am the best.” Vinyl said.
“So are there any other stories that you want to tell me,” Octavia asked.
“Well, there is this one story.” Octavia began.
The two talk throughout the night telling each other stories from their past. They talked for so long by the time they were done it was 3 in the morning.
“Well, Vinyl I think it’s time for me to get some sleep,” Octavia said.
“Oh ya it’s like 3 in the morning we should probably go to bed.” Vinyl said.
“Ok Vinyl good night,” Octavia said.
“Night Octy.” Vinyl said then she hung up the phone.
“You know maybe that nickname isn’t all that bad,” Octavia whispered.
Octavia then turned the light off climbed onto her bed and drifted off to sleep.
3 days have passed since that night, and Vinyl and Octavia had talked every night since then. They would also met up and have a conversation every day. It was now 4 days until the orchestra concert. Octavia had decided to spend the day with Lyra.
“So you and Vinyl have been getting pretty friendly,” Lyra said.
“Lyra what are you trying to say,” Octavia asked.
“There is no way you two are just friends with how much you talk to her and hang out with her,” Lyra said.
“Lyra I told you this already we are just friends, we are just friends,” Octavia said.
“You may say that now, but just wait. You are going to spend that one moment with her, and you two are just going to forget about everything. You two are only going to have each other on your minds, and then you two are going to kiss right there. Then I get 50 bits from BonBon.” Lyra rambled.
“Is my friendships with other people just a betting game between you two,” Octavia asked.
“Ya pretty much,” Lyra answered.
“Ok getting passed the betting game. I am not going to fall in love with Vinyl, and even if I did my parents and this society would never be accepted3 days have passed since that night, and Vinyl and Octavia had talked every night since then. They would also met up and have a conversation every day. It was now 4 days until the orchestra concert. Octavia had decided to spend the day with Lyra.
“So you and Vinyl have been getting pretty friendly,” Lyra said.
“Lyra what are you trying to say,” Octavia asked.
“There is no way you two are just friends with how much you talk to her and hang out with her,” Lyra said.
“Lyra I told you this already we are just friends, we are just friends,” Octavia said.
“You may say that now, but just wait. You are going to spend that one moment with her, and you two are just going to forget about everything. You two are only going to have each other on your minds, and then you two are going to kiss right there. Then I get 50 bits from BonBon.” Lyra rambled.
“Is my friendships with other people just a betting game between you two,” Octavia asked.
“Ya pretty much,” Lyra answered.
“Ok getting passed the betting game. I am not going to fall in love with Vinyl, and even if I did my parents and this society would never accept it.” Octavia said.
“You could just keep it a secret, like me and BonBon,” Lyra suggested.
“But then you can’t show any public display of affection around the person. I could not do that.” Octavia said.
“You could just leave moveout live with Vinyl,” Lyra suggested.
“Well, I guess that could be away, wait what am I saying this is never going to happen anyway Lyra,” Octavia said.
“Ok, Octavia. Hay just think about what I said. I gotta get home see you tomorrow at Octavia.” Lyra said,
“Ok see ya later Lyra,” Octavia said.
The two parted way and Octavia began to walk home with thoughts in her mind.
“Think about what she said. I am do not feel that way about her,” Octavia whispered.
Memories began to come to her, they may have only known each other for 5 days, but the memories she had of them talking just keep coming. After the memories stopped flowing through her mind she whispered to herself. “Or or do I.”
Vinyl walked through the street of Canterlot, she was on her way to meet up with her agent Cut Time at his office. They do this every month, it helps keeps Vinyl in order. At these meetings, they mostly just talk about the plan for the next month and they also see if they can get Vinyl new equipment. When Vinyl finally arrived at Cut Times Office she was met with Cut Time shouting into the phone then slamming it onto the reserve
“Everything alright Cut,” Vinyl asked.
“Oh, there you are, sorry about that, its personal business.” Cut Time said.
“Ok, let’s get this meeting going then.” Vinyl said.
With that being said the meeting began they talked about the usual thing. Vinyl schedule for the month, fines she had accumulated, and the possibility to get new equipment. It wasn’t until the end of the meeting that Cut Time got to what he really wanted to say.
“So are we done here,” Vinyl asked.
“Hold on there is one more thing I want to talk to you about.” Cut Time said.
“What is it,” Vinyl asked.
“Ok, so you have been seen around town talking to this one girl a lot.” Cut Time said.
“Ok before you say anything else it’s not what you think, we are just friends, and why are you bring this up is this a bad thing.” Vinyl said.
“No it's not, but it could turn into a bad thing. If people keep seeing you hanging out with her as much as you do people are going to start thinking that there is more to your relationship than what you think, and that could bring complication to your career.” Cut Time said.
“We are just friends and that is all we will be I don’t care if I have to tell everyone In Equestria.” Vinyl said and made her way to the door.
“Vinyl, I have seen the way you two interact with each other. Your words may say one thing, but your feeling says another. If you keep your feelings bottled up you run the risk of losing the chance you have to tell the person how you really feel, and if you do lose that chance you’re mostly going to regret it and hate yourself because of it. I know what it’s like Vinyl doesn’t make the same mistake I did, and if you follow your feeling your relationship with the people you know will change and people may see you differently. I am your friend Vinyl and whatever you decide to do I’ll always be here for you.” Cut Time said.
Vinyl looked at him
“Thanks.” Vinyl said. Then walked out the door.
“What does he know about my feeling, he doesn’t know how I feel.” Vinyl said. “I don’t even know how I feel. Do I have a feeling for.” Vinyl sighed and began walking home.
Octavia got up and walked over to the window and looked out on the sleeping city.
“I just can’t get what Lyra said out of my head. Vinyl and I are only friends, but does she see it as something different. How do I know what she thinks, it’s not like I can just ask her, that would just make things really awkward between us, and it could ruin our friendship.” Octavia said.
Octavia walked back over to her bed, sat down and continued to think.
“I don’t even know my own feelings on this matter. I can say that we are just friends, but this feeling I have, it’s, it’s telling me something different, why. I don’t know what to do, I guess I should just let things play out.”
Vinyl walked around her room thinking about what Cut Time had told her earlier.
“What does he mean by your words say one thing, but your feeling says another. Why would I lie to myself I and Octy are just friends, and even if I liked her that way it could never happen. She is apart of the Canterlot elite, she would be seen as some unworthy of being an elite. I don’t even think she would go out with someone like me, someone so opposite, I am surprised we are even friends. I’m grateful we are friends, she has really help me out with some emotional problems that have been troubling me. I just don’t understand why she wants to be friends with me, I, I feel like I don’t deserve a great friend like her. What power beyond my control brought us together as friends, and I just can’t get her out of my head. Maybe Cut Time is right, maybe I do really like her, but I can’t tell her that. What if it ruins our friendship, what if she doesn’t want to be friends with me anymore. I can’t risk that, I don't want to start falling back into that depression I was falling into before her. I just have to put these feeling aside, even though it’s going to hurt not telling her. It will be better than losing her entirely.” Vinyl monologue.
Vinyl then jumped onto her bed and drifted off to sleep.
Octavia and Vinyl walked down the main street in Canterlot. Octavia was showing Vinyl the concert hall where she will be performing tomorrow. The two walked in and showed VInyl that she got her a front row seat.
“So I get to sit in the front row Right by you, that's awesome.” Vinyl said.
“Yes, you do,” Octavia told Vinyl.
“There you are, Octavia,” Lyra said from the entrance of the hall.
Octavia and Vinyl looked around to so Lyra and BonBon walking toward them.
“Hey Lyra, hay BonBon how are you guys,” Octavia asked.
“We are doing great Octavia.” BonBon said. “Lyra was showing me the concert hall.”
“I was doing the same for VInyl. We were just about to go get lunch, do you guys want to come.” Octavia asked.
“Ya, that sounds nice.” BonBon said.
The 4 walked out of the concert hall and down the street to Dinner.
“I am surprised you would come to a place, Octavia,” Lyra asked.
“Vinyl said that we should go here, she said that this place had good food,” Octavia said.
“Ya, it’s got the best food.” Vinyl said.
They walked in and got a table. They sat and talked. Octavia told Lyra and BonBon about Vinyl and the fun times they have had. Lyra told Vinyl and Octavia about the fun time her and BonBon have had. As Vinyl and Octavia listen to Lyra and BonBon they began thinking about their relationship with each other. Octavia seeing how happy they together began thinking maybe it could work with Vinyl, and Vinyl thought that since Lyra is high society maybe her and Octavia do have a chance together. Once Lyra and BonBon were done talking the two snapped out of there thoughts. There then arrived and then the spent the rest of the time eating and talking about things. After lunch, the 4 walked out of the dinner and talked for a bit before they all parted ways. They all had some things to do, Octavia had to go home and practice, Vinyl had to go start getting set up for a gig, BonBon had a doctors appointment, and Lyra had to get to work. When Octavia got home she was surprised to see a bunch of people walking around with decorations and other weird items. She just thought that her parents were just having another party tonight. They had a lot of parties, so she just ignored and continued up to her room. One thing did catch her eye, it was a white dress she had never seen before. She wondered why someone was carrying it, but she didn’t care enough and just continued up to her room.
The concert was in 2 hours, Octavia had gotten herself ready and was about to head out. She walked downstairs and saw her parents talking.
“Are two coming to the concert,” Octavia asked.
“No darling, I’m sorry, we have other plans that need our attention.” Blaze said.
“It’s ok dad,” Octavia said
Octavia walked over to the door, spectrum was there holding her cello, he handed it to her.
“Thanks, spectrum,” Octavia said.
Octavia then walked out the door and made her way to the concert hall.
Octavia got to the concert hall and began her warm up with the others in the orchestra.
There warm upended, and there was about 30 minutes before the concert was to start. People started to fill the seats. Octavia looked over to where Vinyl is supposed to be sitting, she was not there yet.
“Where is she,” Octavia whispered.
15 minutes earlier. “Man I don’t have anything to ware,” VInyl said. “Oh wait I think I found something.”
She then saw the outfit she was looking for. The outfit wasn’t a dress but it was nicer than her other outfits.
“The concert starts in 40 minutes, I need to get going if I want to make it. I wonder if she would want to come back to my place after the concert. I will have to ask her.” Vinyl said.
She then walks out the door and made her way to the concert hall.
Vinyl walked into the concert hall and made her way to the seat she look up and saw Octavia looking at her.
“Hay Octy good luck. You’re going to do great!” Vinyl shouted.
“Thanks, Vinyl! I hope you enjoy the concert.” Octavia said.
The lights dimmed and the conductor walkout onto the stage.
“Good evening everyone, and welcome to the Canterlot Royal Concert Hall. My name is Time Signature, and this is the Canterlot Symphony Orchestra. We have a lovely concert for you tonight. These guys have been working so hard, so I hope you enjoy the concert.
With that being said he turned to the orchestra raised his hands and began to conduct. Music filled the hall, Vinyl focused her ears on Octavia's cello. The music was beautiful and Vinyl lost herself in the music. The concert continued then Octavias solo came and Vinyl was speechless it was an amazing solo. Many more minutes passed and the concert came to a close after the final song was played people began to get up and walk out. Vinyl got up and walked onto the stage to talk to Octavia.
“That was awesome Octavia and your solo was really good!” Vinyl said.
“Thanks, Vinyl! I’m really glad you like it.” Octavia said.
“Hay Octavia I want to ask you something.” Vinyl said.
“What is it,” Octavia said.
“I was wondering if you would want to come over to my place tonight,” VInyl asked.
“I, I would love to,” Octavia said. “I just need to bring my cello back home.”
“Alright let’s go.” Vinyl said.
With that being said they started to the door, but then Octavia saw her servant Spectrum by the door.
“Spectrum what are you doing here,” Octavia said.
“I would not miss your concert, here let me take your cello.” Spectrum said taking Octavia's cello from her. “I will take your cello home you enjoy your night.”
With that Spectrum walked out of the hall and headed home.
“Well I guess we can go to your house now,” Octavia said.
“Great let’s go.” Vinyl said.
Then the two started off in the direction of VInyls house.
Vinyl and Octavia walked into Vinyls place. Octavia look around the place. It was a bit messy, but it wasn’t too bad. Vinyl walked over to a shelf, Octavia did the same. Vinyl showed Octavia her collection of modern music she had and her various other things. After touring VInyls house the two sat down at the couch and started to talk. As the night continued on there conversation got deeper. The clock read midnight and the two had gotten closer to each other they were staring into each other's eyes
“Vinyl I like being with you,” Octavia said.
“Octavia there is something I need to tell you, but I don’t know if I should.” Vinyl said.
“Vinyl you can say anything to me. There is something I want to say to you too, but you go first.” Octavia said.
“Octavia I, I, I really like you, Octavia. I just want to be with you. You're just so amazing and awesome. You're just perfect.” Vinyl said.
Octavia looked at Vinyl speechless not knowing what to say.
“Octy.” Vinyl said but was cut off by Octavia wrapping her arms around Vinyl and bringing her lips to Vinyl in a kiss.
At first, Vinyl was stunned with shook, once snapping out of it she wrapped her arms around her and kissed her back. The kiss last for what seemed like hours the two not wanting to end it. Once they finally parted Octavia began to speak.
“Vinyl I feel the same way. Every time I am around you I just feel better. I feel like I always want to be with you, just never leave you.” Octavia said.
“Octy thank you for being the best person ever.” Vinyl said hugging her.
Vinyl then laid down, and Octavia just snuggled up next to her. The two then drifted off to sleep in each other's arms.
Sunlight shined through the window. The light hits Octavia on the face causing her to wake up. Octavia looked around and saw that she was in Vinyls arms, she smiles as memories from last night filled her mind. She then kisses Vinyl on the check.
Vinyl stuers, smiles, then tighten her grip on Octavia.
“Vinyl!” Octavia laughs.
“This is what happens to those who wake me up early.” Vinyl said.
Vinyl then let's go and lets out a little laugh. The two got up, Vinyl made her way to the kitchen and started cooking breakfast with Octavia's help. The two then ate and talked. The time read 11 o'clock and Octavia knew she had to get home.
“Vinyl dear I’m sorry, but I need to get home,” Octavia said.
“Oh ok.” Vinyl pouted. “I’ll call you later ok.”
“Ok by Vinyl.” Octavia waved.
“By Octy.” Vinyl waved.
Octavia quickly ran home. When she got through the front door she was met by her mother.
“Octavia Philharmonic you are in so much trouble!” Crystal shouted.
“Wait, what did I do,” Octavia asked.
“Don’t act like I don’t know, you went over to that one girl's house, and you kissed her.” Crystal said.
“Wait how do you know about that,” Octavia asked.
“Dear we have had someone watch you every time you leave the house. We know all about your relationship with that person and that is unacceptable for someone of your standers. There will be no more of this, and you are to marry Prince BlueBlood in two weeks.” Crystal said.
“What I’m not marrying him!” Octavia said.
“Yes you are, it was been arranged scene you were little.” Crystal said.
“NO, I WON’T!” Octavia shouted.
“YES you will and that is the end of discussion, and you are not to leave this house unsupervised, and you are to not see this Vinyl again.” Crystal said.
Octavia then ran up to her room. She jumped onto her bed and cried into her pillow. Octavia pulled out her phone and texted Lyra.
“Lyra I need you to get Vinyl and bring her to the outside of my bedroom window please hurry and don’t let any of the servants see you guys. Octavia texted.
VInyl was sat on her couch when she heard someone banging on her door.
“I’m coming.” Vinyl shouted.
Vinyl was surprised to see Lyra breathing really hard.
“Did you run all the way over here,” Vinyl asked.
“Yes, listen to me, Octavia's parent found out about you too, and they are not letting her leave her house,” Lyra said trying to catch her breath.
“What are you serious.” Vinyl asked.
Lyra just nodded her head.
“Ok just meet me near her house I need to go do something first.” VInyl said.
“Ok just hurry.” Lyra said.
With that, the two ran off in different directions. Vinyl grabbed her phone and called Cut Time.
“Vinyl what is it.” Cut Time asked.
“Cut just listen to me. Whatever you're about to hear about me it’s not going to be what it’s going to say. I am going to Manehattan I need you to meet me there. Things are about to change for me here. I can’t stay here, but just trust me on this I know what I am doing.” Vinyl said.
“Vinyl I don’t know what you are planning, but I am going to trust you on this. I will meet you in Manehattan.” Cut Time said.
“Thanks.” Vinyl said then hung up the phone.
Vinyl rived at the train station and when up to buy train tickets.
“I need two to Manehattan.” Vinyl said handing the person the money
“Here you go.” the person said handing Vinyl the tickets.
Lyra stood on the corner of the street Octavia's house was on.
“Where is she,” Lyra whispered.
Just as she said that Vinyl ran up to her.
“Come on we need to sneak in,” Lyra said.
The two then jumped the wall and made there a way to Octavia's window Lyra texted Octavia to let her know that there were there
Octavia opened the window and started talking
“Vinyl there you are,” Octavia said.
“Octy listen to me I have two train tickets to Manehattan. We can leave together. You can get away from your parents. We can be together.” Vinyl said.
“Vinyl I would like that very much,” Octavia said.
Octavia ran over to her desk and grabbed a few things the ran back to the window.
“Vinyl I need you to catch me ok,” Octavia said.
“What are you insane.” Vinyl said.
“I can’t leave tough the from I have to jump out the window ok,” Octavia said.
“Ok.” Vinyl said.
With Vinyl approval, Octavia climbed out of her window and let herself fall. VInyl caught her in her arms. She put her down and they made their way off Octavia's property.
“So you two are going to Manehattan.” A voice came from behind them.
They turned around to see Spectrum behind them.
“Hear” Spectrum said as he handed Octavia a blanket. “I thought this might be useful to you.
“Spectrum thank you. I’m going to miss you.” Octavia said.
“It’s time for you to go on your own path. Take care, Octavia. Spectrum said as he watched them jump the wall.
“Hey, you two take care. BonBOn and I will come to see you sometimes ok.” Lyra said.
“Ok thank you so much, Lyra,” Octavia said.
With that Octavia and Vinyl made their way to the train station
“All aboard to Manehattan!” the trains Ticketmaster called out.
Octavia and Vinyl handed him their tickets and made their way to their seats. They sat down and Octavia snuggled up to VInyl.
“What now Vinyl,” Octavia asked.
“I have a place out there, we will just have to start new lives out there, but don’t worry I will be with you every step of the way.” Vinyl said.
The train began moving, and VInyl and Octavia watch as the only home they have ever known began to disappear as the train took on the journey to there new home.
“Octy. Octy! Wake up. We’re here.” Vinyl said nudging Octavia.
Octavia sterd and let out a yawn. She rubbed the sleep from her eyes then looked out the window. Octavia saw the city getting closer and closer the skyscrapers of the city just got taller as they approach. The train coasted into the station, the doors open and Vinyl and Octavia walk off the train than out of the station onto the streets of Manehattan.
“This city is so big. Where are we staying.” Octavia asked.
“It’s not that big once you know your way around. Follow me our place is only a few blocks down.” Vinyl said. Vinyl and Octavia began walking down the street, Octavia was looking at everything she saw trying to get a sense of where she was in the city, just in case she got lost, that way she would know if she was close to her and Vinyls place. They came up to an area that had a big house that was well spaced out.
“These look like they belong in Canterlot, not a big city like Manehattan,” Octavia said.
“Ya, I was surprised when Cut Time first showed me them.” Vinyl said.
“Well at least we will have something like home,” Octavia said.
“Let’s go in.” Vinyl said.
The two walked up to the front door Vinyl grabbed her keys and unlocked the door. The two walked in and were surprised to see the place as well furnished as it was. Vinyl saw a note on one of the side tables.
“What does it say,” Octavia asked.
“It’s from Cut Time and it says had a few more things put in to help make it feel more like home.” Vinyl said.
“Well that was really nice of him,” Octavia said.
“Ya, it really was.” Vinyl said.
Vinyl and Octavia explored the rest of the house seeing all it had to offer there was one bedroom, two bathrooms, and two spare rooms. They saw this as a perfect place to live together. It was around 10 o’clock and they were both pretty tired after the long train ride, so the two got themselves ready for bed. The two climbed onto the bed, Octavia snuggled up to Vinyl then drifted off to sleep. Vinyl on the other hand just lays there thinking about how this discussion is going to change her life. She didn’t know what this meant for her carrer, she would need Cut Time to tell her what her next move is. Her thoughts soon disappeared and she then drifted off to sleep, holding Octavia in her arms.
Vinyl woke up to the sound of her phone ringing. VInyl geroned then grabbed her phone she looked at who was calling, it was Cut Time. Vinyl broke free from Octavias gerasps as gently as she could as to not wake her. Vinyl rolled out of bed and walked into the living room to answer her phone.
“Dude it’s 7 in the morning. What’s wrong with you.” Vinyl said.
“Well good morning to you too. I was just calling to tell you I’m in Manhattan now, and that I want to meet up with you around one, at my office.” Cut Time said.
“And you had to call me this early to tell me that. Ok, I will see later… oh and thanks for the extra things you got for this place.” Vinyl said.
“No problem. See you later, and don’t forget.” Cut Time said.
Vinyl hung up the phone then walked back to the bedroom.
“Who was that?” Octavia asked from the bed rubbing her eyes.
“It was Cut Time, he just called to tell me that he is here in Manehattan and that he want to meet with me to discuss my career.” Vinyl said.
“Well, that's good,” Octavia said
“Ya… oh Octy we need to go to the store there's like no food in this place.” Vinyl said.
“Alright, let get ready then head out,” Octavia said.
Meanwhile in Canterlot “Blaze where is Octavia?” Crystal asked.
“She hasn't left her room scene she stormed off up there yesterday.” Blaze said.
“Well give me the keys to her, she's locked her door and is not answering me.” Crystal said. Blaze and crystal walked up to Octavia's room, Blaze unlocked the door then opened it to find Octavia, not in her room.
“Where is she?!” Crystal shouted.
“Look, the window is open.” Blaze pointed.
“That little, Spectrum get in here!”Crystal shouted.
“Yes, lady Crystal.” Spectrum asked.
“Where is Octavia?!” Crystal said.
“I don’t know where she is, are you saying she is missing.” Spectrum said.
“Go let our security details know, and tell them to go and search that friends of her house.” Blaze said.
“Vinyl do you know where this place?” Octavia asked.
“Ya, maybe, not really, but I do have the address.” Vinyl said.
“So we don’t know where in the city this place is,” Octavia said.
“Kinda, but hay this gives us a chance to explore the city.” Vinyl said.
“Well, it’s a good thing we left early,” Octavia said.
“Ya, without you I would be so late to this meeting, but Cut Time is used to me being late.” Vinyl said.
“Well, I will make sure you are never late again Vinyl,” Octavia said.
The time was rapidly approaching 1 o’clock and Octavia was determined to get Vinyl to her meeting on time. Octavia asked several people for directions until one person gave her an answer she wanted to hear. He pointed them in the right direction, Vinyl and Octavia quickly ran to the destination, they made it with 2 minutes to spare.
Meanwhile in Canterlot “Crystal dear you need to sit down, they can only run so fast.” Blaze said.
Just then blazes phone rang, it was his security detail.
“Yes… I see, ok, continue what you’re doing, report to me if you find any clues.” Blaze said then hung up the phone.
“Well.” Crystal said.
“She’s not there, they're continuing to look around the city.” Blaze said.
“Well, I’m getting the police involved.” Crystal said.
“And what will you tell them, that our 21-year-old daughter ran off with some DJ, that she fell in love with a woman, it would bring shame to our family name if that got out to the public.” Blaze said.
“You think I don’t know that I have a way to cover that up and make that other person look like the criminal.” Crystal said.
“And what is that.” Blaze said.
“The police chief owes me one, I am going to tell him to tell everyone that Octavia was kidnaped by this, Vinyl, Octavia has run away with.” Crystal said.
“I guess that would work, alright fine, go to the police, but are people will find her.” Blaze said.
With that being said Crystal left.
“What happened Octavia, why did you have to turn out this way,” Blaze whispered.
Crystal barged into Canterlot police HQ and demanded to see the chief.
“Crystal, what a pleasant surprise, why are you here.” The chief said.
“Taze, my daughter has run off with this DJ called Vinyl, we don’t know where she is, but I want every available officer you have looking for them. This also needs to stay a secret, so tell everyone that she was kidnaped by this DJ.” Crystal said.
“Wait, hold on, your 21-year-old daughter ran away with another person, and you want the entire Canterlot police force looking for her,” Taze said.
“It’s not just another person. It’s a woman she fell in love with, and this will not stand in my house.” Crystal said.
“Well, I understand why you’re angry about who she fell in love with,” Taze said.
“You owe me one Taze, now get it done.” Crystal said.
Vinyl and Octavia walked through the office building until they got to Cut Times room. They walked in.
“Vinyl, you’re on time.” Cut Time said with a surprised expression.
“Well, it’s all thanks to Octy, she is going to make sure I’m never late to anything ever again.” Vinyl said.
“I see, and we haven’t properly met, I’m Cut Time, Vinyls agent.” Cut Time said.
“Nice to meet you, I’m Octavia Philharmonica,” Octavia said.
“Alright, now that introductions are out of the way, what is going to happen to my career,” Vinyl asked.
“Oh right, let’s get to that.” Cut Time said. He walked over to his desk and pulled out some paper. “Well, it doesn't look like much is going to change.”
“Really, so I still have a job.” Vinyl said.
“Well, of course, I told you that I wanted you to move out here eventually. There are way more opportunities for you out here, and I might be able to get you a proper record label.” Cut Time said.
“Vinyl that would amazing for you,” Octavia said.
“Ya it will, but we need to stay low for a while.” Vinyl said.
“Oh ya your right,” Octavia said.
“Ok, so what happened back in Canterlot.” Cut Time asked.
“Long story short, Octavias parents found out about our relationship, and we're going to force her to marry this person she doesn’t like, so we decided to run away together.” Vinyl said.
“I see, so you guys need to not draw attention to yourselves for a while. Well, that’s fine it would take some time for your name to get big around here anyway.” Cut Time said.
“Just don’t do anything that could draw attention to me, ok,” Vinyl asked.
“I’ll be careful, and I will be in touch about gigs.” Cut Time said.
“Alright.” Vinyl said. Then she and Octavia started to walk home.
“We have searched the entire city I don’t think they are in the city,” Taze said.
“Then go to a different city, I don’t care if you have to search all of Equestria I just want her found.” Crystal said.
“It’s not that easy! I just can’t send my men to a different city, I can let the other cities know about what's going on, but that’s going to take some time.” Taze said.
Crystal growled. “Fine, but for your sake, you better hope they find her fast.” Crystal said. Crystal then stormed out of the police headquarters. “I guess I will just resort to plane B.” Crystal whispered.
Later that night in the slums of Canterlot The bar door opens every one looks to see a woman in a cloke, they all then turn back to there drinks. The woman walks over to the bartender.
“What can I get you?” the bartender asked.
“I am looking for the bounty hunter.” the woman said.
“Haha. Now what does a woman like you want a bounty hunter for?” the bartender asked.
“It’s a personal reason. That’s all you need to know.” The woman said.
“Alright, he’s over there in the corner.” The bartender said.
The woman walked over to the bounty hunter.
“I am in need of your services bounty hunter.” The woman said.
“Let's get one thing straight my services are not cheap.” The bounty hunter said.
The woman then though a sack of bit onto the table.
“Ok. so what’s my assignment.” The bounty hunter asked.
“I need you to find and take out a woman called Vinyl Scratch.” The woman said.
“Finding cost extra.” The bounty hunter said.
Another sack of bits then hit the table.
“Ok, but the way names Longshot, and you would not mind me asking. Why does a noble like you need a bounty hunter?” Longshot said.
“You are as good as they say. Anyways it doesn’t matter why just get it done.” The woman said. Then made her way out of the bar.
Longshot looked at the bits on the table. He signed then grabbed the bit and walked out.
Vinyl groaned and covered her head with the blankets. “Two early” Vinyl said.
“Its 11 Vinyl, what do you mean it to early,” Octavia asked.
“I was out really late last night, these clubs run later than the one back in Canterlot.” Vinyl said.
“Ok, I understand you're tired, but that does not give you the excuse to stay in bed all day,” Octavia said.
“It should.” Vinyl said.
“Get up VInyl. I will make you some coffee ok.” Octavia said.
“Fine.” Vinyl said then rolled off of the bed “ow.”
“That’s your fault, now come on,” Octavia said.
Vinyl picked herself up of the ground and followed Octavia into the kitchen. After a few minutes Octavia handed Vinyl her coffee and the two then sat down at the table
“Thanks, Octy.” Vinyl said.
Vinyl quickly drank the coffee and just like that she was wide awake.
“I feel so much better now.” Vinyl said.
“Good, now would you be so kind and clean up this mess,” Octavia said holding a broom.
“What, why do I have to clean it up.” Vinyl said.
“Because I am not cleaning up after you. Now would you please clean this up.” Octavia said.
Vinyl sighed “Fine I’ll clean it up.”
“Thanks, dear,” Octavia said then kissed her on the check. Octavia then started walking towards the door.
“Where are you going.” Vinyl said.
“I have to go to the store to get a few things. I’ll be back in a little, ok, love you, bye.” Octavia said.
“Love you too.” Vinyl said.
Vinyl began cleaning “man why do I have to do this. This mess in no even all mind, well most of it is, but still, I’m not used to cleaning up this much.” Vinyl said.
Streets of Manehattan “I should not have to tell Vinyl to clean up after herself. I mean can’t she show a little common decency. You know I should not get all worked up over this it is the first time its happen, no big deal. Now I need to get this stuff from the store not use to doing this myself.” Octavia said.
The door swings open, Vinyl stumbles in, she is completely drunk. Vinyl walks through the dark house until bumps into something in the dark.
“Uha, what did I hit.” Vinyl said.
“It’s not what you hit, it’s who you hit,” Octavia said.
“Oh Octy. what are you doing up,” Vinyl asked.
“I think the better question is why were you out so late. You didn’t even work so what were you doing.” Octavia said.
“Well you see I got invited to go have a few drinks this person I met at one of my gigs.” Vinyl said.
“Well, you could have told me that you were going to be out so late,” Octavia said
“I know I’m sorry, next time I will be sure to tell you, and I will try to not stay out so late.” Vinyl said.
“You promises,” Octavia asked.
“Promise” Vinyl said.
Twelve weeks later “VINYL, get up now!” Octavia said yanking the cover of the couch.
“HAY! Why did you do that.” Vinyl shouted.
“Do you remember 12 weeks ago what you said to me,” Octavia asked.
“Octy I don’t even remember what I had for lunch yesterday.” Vinyl said.
“You promised me that you would try not to stay out so late and if you were you would tell me, and you didn’t,” Octavia said.
“Hay it’s the first time in two weeks so what’s the big deal.” Vinyl said.
“It’s not Vinyl, this is the 15th time this has happened,” Octavia said.
“Ok, but why is it a big deal that I am staying out so late,” Vinyl asked.
“It’s not that, it’s the fact that you have constantly broken the promise you made to me, and every time you do this you always come home drunk and can barely remember anything,” Octavia said.
“Hay I have been doing this long before I met you. How can you just ask me to change my way of life like that.” Vinyl said.
“Well, what about me Vinyl. I throw away my old life to run away with you. Have you ever stopped and think about everything I lost!” Octavia shouted.
“You wanted to run away with me, you should be happy I had somewhere for us to go and hide from your parents. I should not have to ruin my life because you throw away your old one.” Vinyl said.
“You just don’t understand Vinyl,” Octavia said then stormed out of the house. Vinyl looked at the door in shock, then tears began to fall down her face.
“Octy! Octy! OCTAVIA!” Vinyl shouted running through the rainy streets of Manehattan.
“How could she have gotten so far, I need to find her, man I am such an idiot.” Vinyl said.
Vinyl searched for hours still no sight of Octavia.
“It’s getting late, I have to find her, the city is not very safe at night.” Vinyl said.
Somewhere in Manehattan “Is that the street. No. I’m so lost, and no one is helping me.” Octavia said.
Octavia continued to walk through the city it was around 10 o’clock.
“You look lost.” a voice from an alleyway hit Octavia's ears.
“Yes I am, can you help me,” Octavia asked
“Sure, come down here and we can help.” the voice said.
Octavia then walked into the alley thinking she finally found some help, but then quickly realized that this was a mistake. Before she could turn around and run she was grabbed.
“Let me go!” Octavia screamed.
“That's not going to happen, and you are going to listen to us or there will be a big consequence.” One of the men said.
Octavia let out a big scream, this then made the guy holding here put his hand over her mouth.
5 block down the road Vinyl continued to search for Octavia, then she heard a scream from down the block.
“That sounds like Octy, she must be in trouble.” Vinyl said.
Vinyl ran as fast as she could in the direction of the scream. She reached the alley where Octavia was and saw what was happening. Anger came to Vinyl she charged at the two men.
“Leave her alone!” Vinyl shouted.
“What the.” One of the men said before getting punched right in the face. This caused him to let go of Octavia.
“You are going to regret ever laying a hand on her!” Vinyl shouted continuing to attack the guy.
The first guy got knocked into a wall knocking him out, then Vinyl turned her attention to the other guy. It did not take long for him to be on the ground unconscious after that was done Vinyl ran over to Octavia and hugged her
“Octy are you ok, did they hurt you,” Vinyl asked.
Octavia then put her arms around Vinyl and began to cry.
“Vinyl, I am so sorry I went of on you earlier,” Octavia said.
“Hey, it’s ok. I’m sorry I acted the way I did I was only thinking about myself and I was so stupid and.” Vinyl said but was cut off but Octavia pressing her lip against hers. Vinyl returned the kiss, there kiss lasted for what seemed like hours. After about 5 minutes they finally parted.
“We should probably call the cops.” Vinyl said.
The cop arrived about 5 minutes after Vinyl called them.
“I'm officer Firearm, so what exactly happened here,” Firearm asked.
Octavia and Vinyl told the story to the officer.
“Alright, well those two won't bother you, girls, again.” Firearm said.
“Well that’s good, we should probably get back home Vinyl,” Octavia said.
“Hey do you two need a ride, it would be a lot safer than walking all the way home,” Firearm asked.
“Yes that would be nice,” Octavia said.
Vinyl and Octavia go into Firearm’s squad car and made their way home.
“So what were you doing out here if you live in the nice district of manehattan.” Firearm asked.
“We had a fight.” Vinyl said.
“I see, you know me and my girl had a fight not too long ago, we made up, but you know sometimes is good to fight. It helps to get out all of the problems people have, and both people come out better people. Well, here we are you two have a nice night.” Firearm said.
“Thanks, firearm for both the ride and the talk,” Octavia said.
“No problem.” Firearm said the drove off.
“Well, he was a nice guy.” Vinyl said.
“I’m starving Vinyl could you make us some dinner,” Octavia said.
“Do I have to.” Vinyl said.
Octavia just looks at Vinyl.
“Just kidding, I’ll get right on that.” Vinyl said.
“Are you even listening to what I am saying Vinyl.” Cut Time asked.
“I’m sorry Cut, I just have a lot on my mind.” Vinyl said.
“Well you no good to me like this, so spill it, what is going on.” Cut Time said.
“Well, it’s about the fight me and Octy had.” Vinyl said.
“Wait, that happened a month ago, I thought you two patched everything up.” Cut Time asked.
“We did, but, I, I still feel like I haven't made it up to her for acting how I did.” Vinyl said.
“So I guess saving her life wasn't good enough.” Cut Time laughed.
“Cut, I’m serious.” Vinyl said.
“Hay isn’t Octavia's birthday coming up.” Cut Time asked.
“Ya, next Thursday.” Vinyl said.
“Then get her something really wants, like a new cello, since she left hers in Canterlot.” Cut Time said.
“She would love that, But I don't have the money for that.” Vinyl said.
Cut Time turned and looked out the window and thought for a minute. After thinking, he opened a drawer in his desk and pulled out a checkbook he wrote down a few things then ripped it out and handed it to Vinyl.
“Cut, I can’t except this,” VInyl said.
“Don’t think of it as alone or a gift, think of it as an investment in new talent. I can get her into some gigs, something I think she would enjoy.” Cut Time said.
Vinyl sighed. “Thanks, Cut.” Vinyl said.
“Don't mention it. Looks like our time is up.” Cut Time said.
“Alright see you later.” Vinyl said.
With that Vinyl walked out of the building and began on her way home. While walking home she passed a music store.
“Well, I am definitely going in there.” Vinyl said.
Vinyl walked into the store and was immediately greeted by a man.
“Good day, my name is Bass Clef how can I help you.” Bass Clef said.
The morning was quiet and peaceful and Vinyl and Octavia were fast asleep with Octavia wrapped in Vinyls arms. Octavia woke and looked up at Vinyl. She smiled and reached up and planted a kiss on her cheek. This cause a smile to form on Vinyls face. Vinyl eyes opened then she tightened her grip on Octavia.
“Vinyl.” Octavia laughed.
“Just because it’s your birthday it doesn’t mean you can wake me up early without a punishment.” Vinyl laughed.
Vinyl then let go of Octavia.
“Happy Birthday Octy.” Vinyl said.
“Thanks, Vinyl, so what do you have planned for today,” Octavia asked.
“Well, first we are going to go out for breakfast, then we will have to go to the train station to pick up a couple of people, then to the art gallery. Next a picnic in the park, after that we will show the people around town, then Dinner followed by front row seats to the Manehattan symphony orchestra, and finally back here to open your very special present.” Vinyl said.
“So you have the whole day planned out, I can’t wait to find out what my present is. Oh, and who are we picking up.” Octavia said.
“You’ll find out. come on let's get ready.” Vinyl said. With that being said Vinyl and Octavia get ready and head out for breakfast. The breakfast cafe that Vinyl had gotten a reservation to was one of the most popular cafes in the city. Usually, you have to get reservations months in advance, but with Vinyl growing popularity in the city, the cafe was able to pull a few strings for the famed DJ. The two ate their breakfast and talked about things, Octavia tried to trick Vinyl into telling her what her gift was, Vinyl quickly caught to what Octavia was trying to do. Vinyl let the conversation play out before revealing that she knew what Octavia was trying to do the whole time.
After breakfast, the two made their way to the train station to pick up the two people Vinyl told Octavia about. They got there right as the train arrived, Octavia watched the door, and her eyes widened when she saw Lyra and BonBon walk of the train.
“Lyra BonBon!” Octavia shouted.
“Octavia!” Lyra and BonBon said together.
“It’s so good to see you, how is life in Manehattan,” Lyra asked.
“It’s been good, I really love this city,” Octavia said.
“Let's make our way back to our place so Lyra and BonBon can put stuff down then make our way to the art gallery.” Vinyl said.
The four began there walk to Vinyl and Octavia house. While they were walking Lyra and BonBon told Vinyl and Octavia about how Octavia's parents had the entire Canterlot police force out looking for them, but that did not surprise Octavia is had figured that they would do something like that. Once they go to the house Vinyl took Lyras and BonBons bags to there room, then the four set off for the art gallery.
“You know it is really nice of Vinyl does all she is doing for me today,” Octavia told Lyra.
“Ya! She does not seem like the kinda person who would do this stuff normally. She really wants to make you happy.” Lyra told Octavia.
Octavia smiled. “Yes, yes she is.”
The day continued perfectly they spent around 2 hours at the art gallery before moving on to Manhattan Center park for there double lunch date. It was a beautiful day for it
“So Vinyl, Octavia I’ve been meaning to ask you two something.” BonBon said.
“What is it,” Octavia asked.
“How long are you guys going to stay hidden from your parents,” BonBon asked.
“For as long as it takes for them to accept her, but that will probably never happen so I guess forever,” Octavia said.
“Oh, I see.” BonBon said.
“It’s not that I don't want to ever go back it’s just that they will never accept my relationship with Vinyl,” Octavia said.
Tears began to form in Octavia's eyes, seeing this Vinyl quickly hugged her to comfort her.
“Octavia, I’m sorry.” BonBon said.
“No, it’s about time I said that,” Octavia said. Octavia wiped the tears from her face then walked over and hugged BonBon.
The four finished lunch then moved onto explore the city. Vinyl and Octavia told them about the fight that they had and where the ended up and about how dangerous it can be if you are in the wrong part of the city at the wrong time. They walk for about 5 hours, they visited shops and other interesting places around the city. The time was now 6 o’clock and was time to head to dinner. Vinyl had gotten reservations to the Royle Places Stackhouse.
“Vinyl, this is the best restaurant in Manhattan, how can you afford this?” Octavia asked.
“Well, this was actually a gift from Cut Time.” Vinyl said.
“How nice of him, tell him thanks next time you see him,” Octavia said.
The four enjoyed dinner then headed to the concert hall to see the Manhattan symphony orchestra. The orchestra was excellent, even Vinyl said that it was the best performance she has seen. With the close to ending the four returned to Vinyl and Octavia’s house.
“That was a lovely day Vinyl, thank you so much,” Octavia said.
“It’s not over yet Octy.” Vinyl said. Then she ran into a room then came out with a big box wrapped in wrapping paper. “You still have to open your present.”
Octavia walked over to Vinyl and began unwrapping her present. Once she saw what it was tearing began to fall from her eyes “Vinyl a cello, this is… thank you so much.” Octavia hugged Vinyl then kissed her.
“Go on, play us something,” Lyra said.
“Alright, but I might be a little rusty,” Octavia said.
“Sorry, I forgot you were carrying your cello.” Vinyl said.
“Yes about that, why did you want me to bring my cello to your meeting with Cut Time, and why did you want me to come to your meeting,” Octavia asked.
“You’ll find out when we get there.” Vinyl said
Vinyl and Octavia got to the office building then walked into Cut Times office.
“Were here Cut.” Vinyl said.
“Ah good.” Cut Time said. He then walked over to the two of them. “And I see you brought your new cello.”
“About that why did Vinyl want me to bring it?” Octavia asked.
“Well, VInyl has told me that you are a very good cello player am I right.” Cut Time asked.
“Well I have been playing for a long time so I would say I am pretty good,” Octavia said.
“So what would you say if I told you that I have an opportunity for you?” Cut Time said.
“What kinda opportunity are we talking about?” Octavia said.
“Octavia. I want to be your agent. I want to help you get known. Help you get the opportunities you need to be successful.” Cut Time said.
“Yes! I would most definitely take that offer.” Octavia said.
“Great! I will just need to hear you play a little, just so I know what I am working with.” Cut Time said.
“Of course.” Octavia
Octavia pulled her cello out of its case, she readied her bow then begins to play. Once she had finished the piece Cut Time look up at her then smiled, walked over to his desk, and pulled out a piece of paper.
“Welcome to the big time.” Cut time said. Elsewhere in Manhattan
“Come see DJ Pon3 also known as Vinyl Scratch perform live at Club Neon tonight.” a TV announcer said.
Octavia was in Cut Times recording studio recording her play a few tones for a contract he had gotten her. The contracts paid well and was a good way to get Octavia’s name out there. They had just finished recording for the day. Cut Time was reviewing the audio and Octavia was looking through some papers when someone bursts through the door carrying a piece of paper. The person handed it to Cut Time, Cut Time looked over the paper, and after reading it his eyes widened. He handed the paper to Octavia. The paper was a hospital report Vinyl had been struck by a car and was in critical condition. Without a second thought, Octavia ran out of the building and ran to Manhattan general hospital where Vinyl was. She ran inside and up to the front desk.
“I need to see Vinyl Scratch!” Octavia said.
“I’m sorry, but miss Scratch is still in critical condition. You will have to wait here.” The lady said.
“NO! I have to see her!” Octavia shouted then ran through the doors leading to the rest of the hospital.
“Security!” the lady shouted.
A security officer quickly ran after Octavia and tackled her to the ground.
“No, I need to see her!” Octavia shouted with tears in her eyes.
“Hey, I know what it is like. Trust me I have been in your position before, but you have to wait.” the security officer said.
He got up and held out a hand to help Octavia up. Octavia accepted his help.
“I’m, I’m sorry,” Octavia said.
“It’s ok. Now let’s go back to the waiting room.” The officer said.
Octavia waited for what seemed like hours with an almost constant stream of tears in her eyes. Just then the door opened.
“Octavia, you can now see miss Scratch.” A nurse said.
Octavia quickly ran to the nurse.
“Is she ok?” Octavia asked.
“Yes she is in stable condition.” the nurse said.
They got to Vinyl room and Octavia ran right in up next to Vinyl said.
“Vinyl! Are you ok.” Octavia asked.
“Octy! Ya, I'm fine haha, Ow, oh it hurts to laugh.” Vinyl said.
“You had me so worried. What happens.” Octavia asked.
“Well I was walking around looking at things in stores when I saw these really cool sunglasses, but they were really expensive and I did not have any money on me so I began to walk home and as I was crossing the street this car came out of nowhere and hit me. The next thing I know I am in this hospital bed being told I was hit by a car.” Vinyl said.
“Well I am so glad you are alright,” Octavia said planting a kiss on Vinyls cheek.
“The doctors said they would like to keep me overnight just to make sure everything is fine, so I should be able to go home tomorrow.” Vinyl said.
“That’s wonderful,” Octavia said.
Octavia and Vinyl although out the rest of the day. It was 11 o’clock at night now and Vinyl could tell that Octavia was getting tired.
“It’s getting late Octy you should probably start heading home.” Vinyl said.
“I’m not leaving Vinyl, I’m staying right here. They will have to pull me out of this chair to get me out of here.” Octavia said.
Vinyl smiled. Well get up here and get cozy, I am getting tired.” Vinyl said.
Octavia climbed onto the bed and snuggled up to Vinyl.
“Cut time I need your help, mine and Vinyl one year anniversary is tomorrow and I don't have a gift for her and I don't know what to get her,” Octavia said.
‘You want to know something, Vinyl came to me with the same problem when regarding your birthday.” Cut Time said.
“Really,” Octavia said.
“Yes, now I want you to think about the conversation you have had with Vinyl, was there a time when she said she really wanted something.” Cut Time said.
“Not really, there was a few time where she said she really wanted these pair of sunglasses,” Octavia said.
“There you go, get her that.” Cut Time said.
“You think that’s good enough?” Octavia asked.
“Octavia, it’s Vinyl.” Cut Time said.
“You know what good point,” Octavia said standing up out of her chair. “Ok, now I have to go and find those glasses.” Octavia walked out of the recording studio and onto the streets of Manhattan. Octavia began to walk towards the store where Vinyl said she saw the Sunglasses.
Later that day “I have look through every stored in this city I can’t find these glasses anywhere, I am a horrible girlfriend,” Octavia said. Octavia continued to walk through streets when something in a nearby store caught her eye. She ran up to the store to see the glasses Vinyl wanted in the window. “Finally I found them, but why do they have to be so expensive.”
The day was bright and sunny and Vinyl and Octavia were enjoying their one year anniversary.
“What a lovely day it is,” Octavia said.
“Ya, it is, a perfect day for our anniversary.” Vinyl said.
Little to the knowledge of Vinyl and Octavia someone only ten feet away was watching them from a tree.
“There you are.” Longshot whispered as he assembled his sniper.
“Hay Octavia I have a gift for you.” Vinyl said pulling a present out of a bag.
“Vinyl, thank you so much, I also have something for you too,” Octavia said.
“Open mine first.” Vinyl said.
Vinyl handed Octavia the present, Octavia began to unwrap the present revealing a small box, she opened it to reveal the most beautiful necklace Octavia had ever seen.
“Vinyl this is beautiful, I, I don't know what to say,” Octavia said.
“Don't mention it, now let me see what you got me.” Vinyl said grabbing the present that Octavia had put next to her.
“Well I don't think it will live up to what you gave me,” Octavia said. Vinyl unwrapped the present to see a pair of purple shaded sunglasses. “I know it’s nothing like what you gave me, bu-”
“Are you kidding me these are amazing thank you so much Octy.” Vinyl said then leaning over to kiss her. This shocked Ovativia for a second, but she quickly snapped out of her shock and hugged and kissed her back.
Ten feet away “What is this I was told that she was kidnapped, but that is not what I am seeing. It seems I have been lied to.” Longshot said lowering his snipper before disappearing.
“How do I look?” Vinyl asked.
“You look great, but I would much rather see those beautiful eyes of yours,” Octavia said before leaning in to kiss Vinyl again.
Two weeks later, the streets of Canterlot “It has been almost a year. What is taking that assassin so long.” Crystal said.
“Be patient my dear.” Blaze said. Just then a knife flies out of nowhere and lands right in front of Crystal. she looks up to see Longshot.
“I may be a man of my word, but I do not take kindly to being lied to.” Longshot said walking up to them. “The target is still alive, but if you want to find them they are in Manhattan, and next time think twice before you lie to an assassin.” with that Longshot through a smoke bomb down and disappeared.
“I’ll let security know. We will leave first thing tomorrow morning.” Blaze said.
“You think you are ready to do this Vinyl? It’s a big step to take.” Cut Time asked.
“Yes I know I am ready, I’ve been wanting to do this for a while now and I got everything I need for tonight.” Vinyl said.
“Ok, just know I support you on this decision.” Cut Time said.
“Thanks, Cut, I should probably get home.” Vinyl said.
“Alright see you tomorrow.” Cut Time said.
Vinyl began he walk home with a constant stream of thoughts flowing into her head. She reached into her pocket and gripped a small box, just to make sure it was still there. Vinyl breathed a sigh of relief and continued on home.
Vinyl got home and was greeted by Octavia who was watching TV.
“Hello, Vinyl how was your day,” Octavia asked.
“It was good, how was yours,” Vinyl asked.
“It was good as well.” Octavia answers.
Vinyl moved her shades up to the top of her head then sat next to Octavia.
“Hay Octy can I ask you something?” Vinyl asked.
“Sure what is it,” Octavia asked.
“Well we have been living together now for some time and dating for over a year, and I really love you a lot, and I just wanted to ask.” Vinyl said standing her and Octavia up and reaching into her pocket for the box. “Octavia will you-”
“FREEZE!” a voice shouted just then a dozen cops rushed into the house. One jumped and tackled Vinyl to the ground. The box flew out of her hand and landed across the room while Vinyl shades flow off her head and shattered on the ground. Octavia looked in horror at what she had just witnessed. Then she saw her mother and father walked in. Octavia watched as her whole world crumbled around her. The new life she had with Vinyl was over.
Octavia watched as the police officer tackled Vinyl to the ground. The small box she was holding flew out of her hands, and Vinyls sunglasses fall to the ground, shattering on impact. Then Octavia's parents walked in, and her whole life collapsed.
“Vinyl Scratch, you are under arrest for kidnapping, you have the right to remain silent. If you break that right anything you say can and will be used against you.” The Officer said.
“What are you talking about, I never kidnapped anyone.” Vinyl said.
“The proof is right in front of you. You kidnapped Octavia Philharmonica and now you will be held and tried in Canterlot.” the officer said.
“What! Vinyl never kidnapped me, we ran away together.” Octavia said.
“Looks like a case of Stockholm Syndrome, she has grown a bond to this one.” the officer said.
“What! No! Vinyl is my girlfriend, not my kidnapper!” Octavia shouted.
“This is a bad case.” the officer said turning to Octavia’s parents. “We should get back to Canterlot.”
“Agreed.” Blaze said.
With that, the police officers escorted Vinyl and Octavia to the train station, and onto a train waiting to take them back to Canterlot.
“Octy I promise this is not over, nothing will keep me away from you. I love you Octy.” Vinyl said.
“I love you too Vinyl I will get you out,” Octavia said.
With that final exchange, they were put into separate train car unsure if they will ever see each other again.
It was a long train ride for both Vinyl and Octavia, both unsure what was going to happen. Octavia worried about what would happen to Vinyl, how would get rid of this false kidnapping accusation, would she even be able to help Vinyl. Vinyl thought about the arranged marriage Octavia had told her about, would Octavia’s parents make her go through with it if they did their relationship would be over. Equestrian law states that once someone is married you are bounded to that person for life, you can never divorce them or be unfaithful to them. The thought brought a tear to Vinyls eyes.
“No, I can’t let that happen.” Vinyl said.
Later that day in Canterlot The train had reached Canterlot station, the doors opened and out walked the police escorting Vinyl to jail. Octavia watched as Vinyl was taken away with tears in her eyes.
“Octavia let’s go.” Blaze said.
Feeling defeated Octavian got up and followed her father.
Octavia and her parents reached there compound. Octavia was greeted by Spectrum and the other servants.
“Lady Octavia it’s good to see you.” Spectrum said.
“Hey, it’s good to see you too,” Octavia said.
Octavia walked through the house and up to her room, she walked in and slammed the door behind her.
Canterlot police station Vinyl was lost, she did not know what was going to happen to her and Octavia. She was walking to the end in her eyes and she could not do anything about it. The officer stopped in front of one of the cells, he opened it then pushed Vinyl into it, and slammed the door behind her. Vinyl ran over and slammed her fist against the bars.
“You’re being lied to, I’m innocent!” Vinyl shouted.
No one said anything. Feeling defeated Vinyl walked over to the bed and sat down.
“I have to get out of here, but, how.” Vinyl said.
Cut Time sits in his office sipping his coffee reading the newspaper. He flipped through the paper when his eyes caught this one story. He read it, local DJ arrested under the charges of kidnapping.
“What.” Cut Time said. Just then the phone rang “Please don’t be who I think it is.” Cut Time picked up the phone.
“Cut Time is that you.” A voice said. Cut Time instantly knew the voice.
“Vinyl, what happened.” Cut Time said.
“Cut it’s not what you think, Octavia's parents found us and accused me of kidnapping her, you have to help me.” Vinyl said.
“I will do what I can, but I don’t know if I can do anything.” Cut Time said.
“Please hurry, there is not much time before Octavia is forced to marry someone she does not love.” Vinyl said. “Times up back to your cell.” A voice said. “Wait.” Vinyl said before getting cut off.
“Vinyl, Vinyl!” Cut Time shouted. Cut Time put the phone down. “Oh no.”
Canterlot, Octavias room Octavia sat on her bed looking at a photo of her and Vinyl, tears forming in her left eye. Just then a knock came from the door.
“Lady Octavia it’s me.” Spectrums Voice came from the other side of the door.
“Come in Spectrum,” Octavia said.
Spectrum walked in and over to Octavia who still had tears running down her face.
“I know your hurting Octavia.” Spectrum said.
“What do you know about what I am going through,” Octavia said turning away from him.
“I know because it’s happened to me before.” Spectrum said
“Wh what,” Octavia said.
A long time ago I was in love with a beautiful girl, to this day I still think she was my soulmate, but she was taken from me. I looked for her, killed anyone who got in my way until I found her, but I was too late. I held her, I watched as she died in my arms.” Spectrum said trying to fight back tears. “I was in denial which turned to anger until I found a witch. I had heard that she could bring back the dead, so I begged for the return of her. However, she tricked me. I was cursed I was to live forever without her and I was to be a servant for all eternity.”
“Spectrum is that true,” Octavia said.
Spectrum handed Octavia a book, the book was old, Octavia opened the book, she saw a young Spectrum then saw the date 1845.
“This is almost 200 years old, I know there is really powerful magic in this world, but I never imagine that magic can make someone live forever,” Octavia said.
“This magic has cursed me, and it’s about to do the same to you unless we do something. I will do whatever I can to get Vinyl out, I promise.” Spectrum said.
“Oh, Octavia it’s so good to see that you are alright,” Blueblood said.
“What do you want Blueblood.” Octavia
“What I can’t see my future wife the day before our wedding,” Blueblood said.
“Whatever,” Octavia said.
Just then Blueblood shut the door so no one could hear them.
“What are you doing,” Octavia said.
“Liston here, I know all about how you ran away with the commoner trash. Your a disgrace to your family's name, but don't worry once we are married all of those feelings will fade away and you will be forced to love me, then your family’s fortune will be mine.” Blueblood said.
“Is that the only reason you agreed to this,” Octavia said,
“I tried to build a relationship with you, but you were just too stubborn to accept it. Our hope would be that you would fall in love and accept the marriage, but you didn’t. Now we have to go through this arranged marriage. This is all your fault, you are causing your own pain here, not me.” Blueblood said.
“GET OUT!” Octavia yelled.
Blueblood started towards the door. “There is nothing you can do now, this is going to happen.”
With that Blueblood walked out and left Octavia alone in her room. Octavia walked over to her desk and grabbed the hairbrush, her anger had messed up her hair. Once she was done she turned around and saw a picture of her mother hanging on the wall.
“I HATE YOU!” Octavia shouted as she through the brush at the picture. The brush made contact with the picture shattering the glass and causing it to fall to the ground. Once it hit the ground the frame broke, and Octavia just looked at it with tears in her eyes.
“You have to let me out of here, I did not kidnap her.” Vinyl said.
“Does she ever shut up.” One officer said.
“Listen here you can explain everything to the court when your trial comes around.” another officer said.
“That will be too late I have to stop the wedding tomorrow before I lose the love of my life forever.” Vinyl said.
“Well if you can pay the two million bit bail we would be happy to let you go.” the first officer said.
“I don't have that kinda cash.” Vinyl said.
“Then you’re staying here until your trial.” the second officer said.
Vinyl ran out of words to say, she just walked over to her bed, she needed time to think.
“What am I going to do, I have to get out of here, but how. I need help, please, someone help me, I don't know what to do anymore.” Vinyl said with a tear running down her face.
Octavia sat on her bed in her white wedding dress looking at the photo of her and Vinyl. Her father walked in the door.
“It’s time to go Octavia.” Blaze said.
Feeling defeated Octavia got up and walked over to her dad.
“Why,” Octavia said.
“I’m sorry Octavia, this is the way things have to be, we all have to make sacrifices for the greater good.” Blaze said.
“What greater good,” Octavia said.
“You’ll understand eventually.” Blaze said.
Blaze began walking, Octavia followed.
They arrived at the wedding chapel, and Octavia father escorted her in. Once she got up to Blueblood the wedding started. “We have gathered here today, in the presence of family and friends to join Octavia Philharmonica and Prince Blueblood in Matrimony. First If anyone has a reason these two should not be wed please speak now or forever hold your peace.” The minister said.
Octavia looks towards the door waiting, hoping someone, anyone to bust open the door. No one opened it. The wedding continued, but all the while Octavia hoped that Vinyl would rush through the doors and take her away from this mess, take her back home. Octavia was lost in her thoughts she did not want to be here, she tried to block out what the minister was saying, but his voice pierced her ears and her already crumbling world totally collapsed when he began saying the words.
“Do you Price Blueblood take Octavia Philharmonica as your lawfully wedded wife.” The minister said.
“I do,” Blueblood said.
“And do you Octavia Philharmonic take Price Blueblood as your lawfully wedded husband.” The Minister said.
Octavia was out of options, there was nothing she could do. “I, I-” Octavia began, but just then the door shot open.
Vinyl went to the back of her cell, she took a deep breath then charged forward and slammed into the bars of the cell.
“AHH” Vinyl shouted.
“What is that, your tenth attempt. You're not getting out of here.” The officer said.
“It, It doesn’t mean I, I can’t, try.” Vinyl studerd and walked back to the other side of the cell.
Just then a note made it to the officer, he read it then got up and walked over to the cell. Vinyl began to run at the bars, but just as she was about to make contact the cell door open and Vinyl ran out and slammed into the wall.
“Looks like someone paid your bail, your free to go.”
“Ah who,” Vinyl asked.
“I did Vinyl.” Spectrum said.
“Spectrum thank you so much. I love to stay and chat, but I got to go.” Vinyl said running towards the door.
“Hay, you mite need this.” Cut Time said walking in then tossing the small box to Vinyl.
“Cut, what are you doing here.” Vinyl said.
“Given you the thing that you need, now hurry up or your going to be late.” Cut Time said.
“Thanks” Vinyl said and with that Vinyl ran off to the chapel “I just only hope that I am not too late.” Vinyl ran through the streets as fast as she could until she finally made it to the chapel. Vinyl busted open the doors and shouted: “ I object.”
Ever one look towards the door and sees Vinyl standing there. Vinyl then ran up to Octavia.
“Vinyl!” Octavia shouted.
“Octy!” Vinyl said wrapping Octavia in a hug. “I had almost lost hope, but now we are together again.” Tears began to fall from Vinyls eyes. “Octy there is something I wanted to asked you.” Vinyl got down on one knee. “Octavia Philharmonica, will you marry me.”
“Oh Vinyl yes, yes I will,” Octavia said.
“What is the meaning of this!” Blueblood shouted.
“I do not Blueblood, I will not marry you!” Octavia shouted.
“You’ll regret this Octavia I promise you that,” Blueblood said.
Just then Octavia's parents walked over to her.
“You’re no longer my daughter.” Crystal said then began to walk away.
“Mom, dad please,” Octavia said.
“I think it would be best if you to leave.” Blaze said.
“But dad.” Octavia started.
“We’ll drop the charges, now just leave,” Blaze said then walked away.
“Octy.” Vinyl started. Octavia had no word she just wrapped her arms around Vinyl.
“VInyl, promise me you will never leave me,” Octavia said
“Octy, I will always be here for you, no matter what.” Vinyl said before kissing her.
Vinyl and Octavia got off the train, they were back in Manhattan, they started on home. Octavia had a strong grip on Vinyls arm. They walked in there home to see Vinyl glasses still on the floor shattered Vinyl picked them up.
“Oh Vinyl, I’ll go buy you a new pair,” Octavia said.
“Thanks, Octy.” Vinyl said.
“There you two are.” Lyras voice rang through the house.
“Ahhh!” Vinyl and Octavia shouted. “What are two doing here.” Vinyl said.
“Well we heard about what happens here and in Canterlot, and we just wanted to make sure you guys were ok.” BonBon said.
“I’m doing better, as long as I have Vinyl and you guys as my friends, I’ll find,” Octavia said. At that moment Octavia wrapped her arms around all of them into a big hug.
