I honestly despise Gilda, but then again, that's just for what she did to Fluttershy when they encountered each other for the first time. But that doesn't mean I don't find this story bad or anything. I like this story, really depicting the friendship that was never really implied or delved into much in the series when Gilda made her appearance. All in all, I like it.

While I admire the whole idea of "Love and Tolerance" as some other ponies call it, I'm afraid that's where I'm divided.

Always feels too short, though. Not that your pacing is too quick- I just always want it to be longer than it is.
This was all a sorta nice, if kinda dubious, scene, but not much of a “story”. Like this shoulda have been saved by the author to insert into an over arching narrative, maybe about Gilda filling in for Rainbow Dash on the weather patrol as it was setting up. As it is, it’s just kinda, “Okay, now what?”

I'm inclined to agree, but honestly? Back then it was all I had and it was originally part of a collection/series of short side-scenes I never got to finish.
There is one more substantial G/RD story I've felt like telling for a while now, but at the rate my current projects are going, we'll be well into Season 3 when I get around to it.

Ah, fun little story, not least of all for making good use of Tank. Works as a coda to both May the Best Pet Win and Blunder & Lightning at the same time, so well done there.
Speaking of Blunder, where Gilda and Dash seemed off to me in that one, they're right on point here. Not above being affectionate and sentimental, but only in private with someone they trust completely, only briefly before they're more comfortable masking it with a layer of bravado and incessant teasing again, and Gilda's prone to being a little bristly even then.
