I think this is just me nitpicking, but why would a hat appear on Twilight when she changes into AJ? The hat isn't a physical part of her. Very good though. Will be tracking

The changeling queen could produce a dress out of nowhere (cadence in the cave had one, and i assume rarity would have noticed a dress going missing) and it disappears when she changes back, so i assume mimicking some clothing is possible

After checking, the changelings in the actual episode that copy AJ also end up with hats. what happens when you try to take these away from them is anyones guess.

I'm sorry...but I'm still laughing my ass off at the dream within a dream bit. I know it was probably supposed to be super creepy, stressful, terrifying, and help us become one with Twilight's torment...but I just couldn't stop laughing at how ridiculous it was! Haha! Keep up the good work!

And then Twilight was a changelings.

Interesting to see which direction this goes.  Will Twilight accept her new self and turn all her friends (or at least Pinkie Pie ) into changelings as well?  Are all her friends already changelings, along with Spike, all of 'Pony'ville, and the pool where they were relaxing?  Will they all toss her out and leave her broken only to reveal that it was just another changeling-induced nightmare and that she is still stuck in that cocoon?

The "layered nightmares" bit went on for a *little* too long, but besides that this is great.

You especially nailed Twi's mounting horror when she starts randomly transforming; I could almost hear her starting to cry.

Has potential, especially with your skills. However, one thing: when I was reading the beginning of this chapter, through all the nightmares, it eventually reached a point where I thought, "did this person mistake the 'dark' tag for 'comedy?' " Might think about revising that, because after the first few times it just starts getting ridiculous.

I do look forward to the next chapter of this.

Looks pretty good - I'll be keeping an eye on this, I'm a sucker for "X is a changeling!" stories. Though, as others have mentioned, the sheer number of dreams does begin to get out of hand.

No offense, but Twilight's Nightmare:  Inception Edition went on way too long IMO.  Too many iterations -- what was the purpose of having so many?  What does the third nested dream actually add to the story?  Should we infer from the gratuitous amount of dreams within dreams that the rest of the chapter is also simply another dream?  

And then Chrysalis woke up.  "What a bizarre dream."  

And then Alec Baldwin woke up.  

But it's still an interesting story.

The fourth "Twilight becomes a Changeling" story that I'll be reading. Interesting to see how you'll handwave the Canterlot shield/anti-Changeling forcefield (which is always a stumbling block for "[character] becomes a Changeling" stories).

I have one minor nitpick, the nightmare scene goes on just a little too long, I'd cut it to just two (personally I'd go with the first two). Barring that, it's very good, and leaves me wanting more.

The shield is relevant because the Changelings were unable to pass through it (they had to brute force it). If Twilight were a Changeling during the events of A Canterlot Wedding she would have been crushed to death when the train passed through it. Even if, let's say, the shield was "disabled" for the train to pass through (if that were the case, why wouldn't the Changelings simply buy train tickets and be able to invade that way instead of screwing with the Captain of the Royal Guard), she would have either been crushed to death or flung miles from Canterlot at the end of the episode when Shining Armor and Cadance cast their shield/love spell (the spell seemed to only effect the Changelings).

The best way to handwave things is to follow Changing's example and simply have Twilight become a Changeling after the wedding, bypassing the shield question entirely.

Seen the basic plot before, seen the twist that she doesn't know it before, but the execution is a step above most of 'em. Personally, I think any idea can be done well, no matter how many time's it's been done before. I'm very interested in seeing how this develops.

Well, it might also be possible that the people you love are unaffected; Chrysalis might have used her Cadance disguise to get into the city, while the other changelings couldn't. After all, the shield was still up even when Shining Armor was more or less brainwashed (or asleep), so there might be a subconscious component at work.

This needs some more editing (most of the dialogue punctuation is wrong), but I love the surrealism you're playing with and the concept. I'd encourage you to edit this some more and send it in to Equestria Daily. I'm a pre-reader myself, and things like this are what I like to see going up.
