Corporal Raincloud has been selected for the most coveted post in the Equestrian military, Canterlot Palace. At first, it seems like a dream come true. He soon comes to realize he had no idea what he was in for, an up-close look behind the scenes at Equestria's seat of power.
Trolling Molestia is looking for you.
Beware.

Hmm, An orangutan accepted as a guest of royalty. Must be King Louie from the Jungle Book.

Nope, he's the Librarian.
Whew, finally got this one out the door. It's nice to see at least a few people liked the story. It gave me the motivation I needed to keep writing.
Comments would be nice, though. Your feedback sustains me.
Celestia's trick of Fealty sound like something Sheogorath would devise. Interesting.

Well...thank goodness...that was almost...awkward...
For a moment, I thought he might have been a human. Silly me! I guess I'm getting too used to HiE's...
Oh, wow. I totally called that last chapter.
Fresh perspective on HiE. This is the kind of thing that might help the genre, even if this story isn't really IN the genre.

It's in my box of ideas to kick around for other stories, but between school and general laziness, I have trouble getting myself to sit down and properly hash out those ideas.
Are you still on hiatus now?

I made a blog entry about it here. The short version is that I want to write some of my other ideas, so this will be a lower priority. I'd like to get another story out, or at least make significant progress, during winter break.
Can I add this to the group called 'The Honor Bound Soldiers Of The Royal Guard'? It's for royal guard stories.

Of course you can add it to the group

Story Title: Diary of a Royal Guard.

Summary: Still, though, if all a reader is looking for is a grab-bag of sweets and not a rich gourmet cake, then this story is a fancy box of chocolates: the sense of craft is apparent, but the flavors of each piece rarely last beyond that initial bite. Sometimes, that's all one wants, but a writer should always shoot for something better. Perhaps a truffle?

Celestia, you sneaky devil.
It was still an intelligent being, and the alien had purposely fed it into a crusher even if he didn't know it was alive and could feel pain. Murder is murder, and the balance of magic requires that he be punished for it, or so said the Goddess of the Sun after it was all over.
Okay, time to raise an almighty howl. MURDER is the deliberate and knowing killing of another person. Calling anything else "murder", especially an accidental death, is howling bullshit and is in itself evil, because it diminishes the definition to an abstraction.
I found this chapter lackluster.
I would have love to see more.
