Given her isolation for so long, why would she have the same prejudices in that regards.
Unless you're gonna do sometime meaningful with the CMC you're adding characters you don't need and unless your gonna do something meaningful with AJ, RD, Rares, Flutters and Pinkie, you got five canonically present but ultimately useless characters you don't need
I am really hoping that she backstabs the heroes... I have a really hard buying into her 'reformation' also she really takes away from the uniqueness of Thorax

...You really didn't need RD, AJ, Rares, Pinkie, Flutters, the CMC, Soul or Heart once Twilight got the inviation, as everything stands thus far, you have 10 characters you don't need that will for the most part go under utilize. (There's a reason why I cut AJ, RD, Rares, Flutters and Pinkie from my own take, they were utterly unnecessary in the Season 6 opener)

They are narratively under utilized, they served no purpose in the story once Twilight got the invitation. Regardless if this is like a christening or not, this is about the story, and if a character serves no purpose, then the character is best to be removed. Every scene AJ, RD, Rares, Flutters and Pinkie are in (in the actual show) can either have these characters removed or the scene can be written out and the story would actually be better, because all they do is mostly stand around and do nothing.
And you condict yourself,
which is, are they needed to be there or are they unnecessary? This is a case of mutual exclusion. Given how little use they had in the show, and in this adaption thus far, I would argue that they unnecessary, beyond their role at the start.
If anything is invalid, it's your argument that since this is like a christening, many ponies close to the parents should be there. And if you truly believed that argument, why you didn't write the story such that Night Light and Twilight Velvet were already there helping the new parents when Twilight et al arrived?
Again my argument is solely based on the narrative, and you are using meta-narrative to counter it as appose to addressing it narratively, heck a simple, "I know you ain't too keen on the idea of AJ et al pretty much doing nothing in The Crystaliing PT1, but if you would please wait for The Crystaliing PT2, to see, you might find it very sastifying." or something around those lines would be a much better counter
10435227 Okay, let me ask you this. Why wouldn't they want to go and see the newborn child of their close friends. If someone you care about suddenly had a kid, you would want to go see that child. It doesn't matter that they have nothing to do, they need to go because that's what their character would do. Plus, they were invited. It might not have said so on the invite, but it's clear they were all invited the witness the Crystaling. Give me one good reason Shining and Cadance wouldn't invite them. And give me one good reason they wouldn't want to go to it. Other then, They're not needed in the story.

Great chapter with a bit of issue especially who was the focus of this 2 part chapters, can’t wait for the next one.

An excellent start to another season! It looks like Heart and Soul’s training is going well, and Flurry Heart is just as cute as ever! I like that the CMC are tagging along here, probably since Scootaloo is related to Flash here, and how they all get a little jealous once they see Flurry.
I also really enjoyed Thorax and Hiveena here. Their wings changing is a good touch since they have been in the Crystal Empire for awhile now, and it gives a bit more time for foreshadow rather than just one episode like in canon. I like how Hiveena is still such a snarker here, like referring to Flurry as a “hell-raiser” and how she wanted to stay and watch Starlight and Sunburst’s “train-wreck”.
I can’t wait for next week to see more of this.

1) This is a family event, would you crash an intimate family event of your friends, or would you appreciate your friends crashing one of your intimate family event?
2) Are they really close friends? There's limited evidence that they communicate aside from Twilight to them, both in the show and in your AU.
3)They could know that at Flurry's age, it would be best to limit the number of 'strangers' she would exposed to until she gets use to the 'strangers' that just met her
It's also in their character to let Twilight, Cadance, Shining, etc have a family event without them, also just because something 'what their character would do' does not mean that they need to, you are making an assumption of mutual inclusion. It's AJ's character to look after Apple Bloom, but it's not needed for her to baby Apple Bloom.

No, its not clear that AJ, RD, Rares, Flutters and or Pinkie were invited, what is clear is that Twilight was invited and she elected to take them with her.
Here's four
1) Since Flurry is a born Alicorn, they aren't sure what to say and who to say what to, but they know Twilight (and Flash) will honor their requests as they try to figure things out
2) Given the state of fatigue Shining (and Cadance to a much lesser extent) is possible that they didn't write their names down on the invite before sending it off
3)Newborns are highly subjectable to diseases (one of the major reasons why there are infant christenings), it would irresponsible of a parent to not limit the child's exposure, thus it would be far safer to only expose Flurry to Twilight and Flash, Twilight due to genetic similarity and Flash for having been raised in the same environment as Shining are less likely to have contagious pathogens that could infect Flurry
4) Also with regards to infants, they can only be exposed to so many adults that aren't their parents for only so long, I know this because my own nephew, who has yet to reach two, can have other adults that aren't his father and mother for so long and only so many people at a time. Flurry as a new born could only be comfortable around even fewer and for much shorter time.
Heck yeah, so nice to have the gang back! Loved how both sibs are adapting to Ponyville life with their respective mentors. I'm starting to like Hiveena even more, especially with her interactions with both Thorax & Spike during Starlight's *friendship lesson*, that was a hoot!

I know you're proud of how you handled that, but in hindsight, having Flash replace Twilight's friends' admittedly small roles in your version of the story made the occasion feel less celebratory.
Looking good so far. I'm actually surprised that you didn't start out with a premiere story first.
Also one thing I REALLY like is how you didn't start off the story with Flash obsessively observing Starlight Glimmer. Because I really dislike tropes like that.

So far I'm really liking the way Flash is teaching Fire Heart. Maby him and Soul can take on Cozy Glow in seasons 8 and 9.
I like these two chapters. I like them a lot. We see Flash and Twilight growing into their roles as teachers, see Heart and Soul learn to cope with the chaos that comes with being Flash and Twilight's students, and get a foretaste of Flash's new abilities and limits. What you have put up here is a tad more chaotic than what we got out of canon, but I actually kind of enjoyed the chaos. I just hope that I'm still able to say that when the time comes for me to go through parenthood myself (says the girl who doesn't even have a boyfriend yet).
Also, apparently, Hiveena is a bit of a blood knight. I know having her be on the heroes' side feels sudden and out of nowhere, but I hope she doesn't end up stabbing Ruby and everyone else in the back. Granted, she at least seems to care for Thorax, so as long as he's still in the story, we won't have to worry about anything on Hiveena's end. Hmm, I wonder what will happen to her when she finds herself in a situation without Thorax appealing to her better nature.
You wouldn't by any chance have already thought of something to address that, would you? I mean, assuming that her turn is genuine, that would be the next most logical course of her character development.

Eyepe, I was right, AJ, RD, Flutters, Rares and Pinkie were utterly narratively useless in this story, the CMC were are massively greater unnecessary part added, and Heart and Soul were... well they were at best a wash (what they actually added to the story was equal to how their presence actually hurt the story).
for the Re-maning 5 and the CMC, none of their involvement furthered the plot, developed their characters or flushed out the lore of the setting that could have been done without them in this story.
We actually get something from the kids, but they could easily been removed as well.
Frankly the only thing of note was actually worth while additions the head start on Thorax' friendship with Flurry and Hiveena being utterly bored until she helped Tia, Lulu and Flash... but even then, leaving the clouds as clouds feels... lazy, now if they were fighting Windigos, that would've been more interesting. Because you can't fight a true force of nature, all you can do is weather the storm, having the Windigos appeared here, citing that it was the love and light of the heart that kept them at bay. Unless you're gonna say that the clouds were Windigos in disguise, but yeah... this was a lack luster adaption from a lack luster two part.
Well, here's to hoping the first proper chapter will be better

Ha ha ha ha ha! I didn't expect a former villainess like her to admitting so casually about having an affair in front of Thorax! Thorax must be feeling jelly!
You know, I feel despite Heart willing to help people out, he still think being a Royal Knight is a fun and game and if he keep up with that cocky mistake, he will eventually either made a fatal mistake or getting his own arch-enemy since majority of Royal Knights have a tragic reason of becoming a Royal Knight and he doesn’t have that tragic reason compare to others.
Just saying.
Also, there’s not major change with Sunburst compare to other characters beside pestering Thorax and Hiveena to come to his his house. I wouldn’t expect if he’s going to stay like that like his show’s counterpart and is only there to develop Starlight’s character.
Okay, let’s see which episode that Banshee will adapt for this season?

Spike really need a girlfriend because the way Spike act toward Starlight in Crystalling is more of a guy having a big crush on her than a friend helping a friend out despite Starlight will eventually end up with Sunburst.

Oh Good God, no. Blackarachnia was always at her best when she was a villain, her arc during her Transmetal 2 state had the benefit for being the briefest of her arcs and Beast Machine as the luxury of being conceded a-canonical, but post Season 3 opener to her transformation is just as bad as those two and doesn't have the benefit of being so short or being disregardible... and believe it or not I actually like her story, but she always better as a villain.

I just want Spike to be with someone for once! Give him a girlfriend for once! The poor dragon just can’t catch a break.
It’s not like he going to spend the rest of his life of being a single dragon.... eventually he going to have to find his soulmate at some point.
That was a great opener. The small changes were enough to keep it interesting, like Flash helping Celestia and Luna hold off the weather before being joined by Hiveena.
Hiveena sure seemed to be having fun helping them. Either she was getting just as bored in the Crystal Empire as Cadance was implied to always be, or she was just enjoying being good for a change. I also thought it was cute how Thorax helped keep Flurry entertained and he and Hiveena got crystal forms too. I am a little upset with myself for nothing thinking of that power for Flash’s new form, considering a few years ago I once had a thought for the Equestria Girls Flash having a similar power to that if he had magic himself. I can’t wait to see what else Flash can do.
I’m guessing when the rest of the Defenders hear about this they will either be glad they stayed behind so they didn’t get involved in Flurry’s mischief or upset they missed out on such an amazing adventure.

I don't know, Ember is a little old for Spike, she's about the same age as Rarity, Twilight, etc, Smolder is a lot closer in age and in season 8 we see more interactions between Spike and Smolder in that season alone then we see between Spike and Ember in the entire series.

I can only list 3. Season 7 with Triple Threat, The season 8 opener when she introduces him to Smolder and in season 9 when Ember is having trouble during the first time she's overseeing the hatching of the dragon eggs. and given the shear amount of time between these episodes, this is why I see Spike with Smolder, they are much closer in age and they interact with each other more frequently and more times

Look you are welcome to your opinion and I am welcome to mine. Smolder taught Spike about the Molt and dragon families, and Spike and Ember forged peace between Equestria and the Dragonlands and opened friendship as a concept to dragons. Besides I'm not even sure the age thing is a completely valid argument. For one thing it didn't stop Sparity from being a popular ship for years and we never actually hear what Ember's canon age is, so for all we know she could be a teenager like Garble or any other age. Besides, is a teacher-student relationship anymore acceptable to you? Because Spike is technically Smolder's teacher at the School of Friendship.

Yes you are entailed to your opinion as I am to mine, however I do have a few responses
There's a fundamental difference between the intimate lessons Smolder teaches Spike and the diplomatic accomplishments Spike preformed, also friendship did exist among dragons, it just wasn't the fowl weather friendship of the ponies.
1) Just because something is popular, doesn't mean it should happen, that's an appeal to consensus logical fallacy. 2) While ages have never been for the most part canonically stated we can easily infer age differences due to height of the characters, 3) while you are correct that Ember may be closer in age to Gabby than Rarity, we don't know enough about how dragons age to make that conclusion, especially when compared to griffons, when for the most part we only have Equestria's ponies as frame of reference.
Once Smolder graduates, which would be likely before Spike is mature enough to be in a more... active... relationship , that's a non-issue

Saw a few comments concerning Ember (especially since S6's her big debut) & Spike in a romantic way, personally I saw her as the tough yet very cool aunt for Spike. As for Smolder & Spike I would be happy either way (sister/girlfriend) since they had awesome chemistry together. I'll see what Banshee comes up with in terms of romantic partner for my fave purple dragon, especially since Sparity's definitely dead & buried with the inclusion of Lightning in these stories. (still waiting on the backlash when Spike finds out, not gonna be pretty
)

I'm sorry if that came out harsh, but I don't think Spike's happiness should depend on his relationship status. 
I mean, a lot of people (including me) would like a significant other, but I don't think getting one should be the most important thing in life. Besides, I don't think Spike is mature enough for a relationship yet, but that's just my opinion. Additionally, AJ doesn't have a shipping partner either, and she seems content. I don't see why Spike can't be single and content also.

Does it have to do with Starlight Glimmer? Fans complain about Season 6 focus too much on her story arc to the point they called Season 6 "The Starlight Glimmer show".
If you hate Starlight Glimmer, Don't worry, Banshee said Starlight wouldn't receive too much focus for this version of Season 6 and she would receive around 5 chapters and most of those are opening and finale.
But if Starlight is not the reason, is there's a reason why you don't like Season 6?

It WASN'T Starlight Glimmer, it was how the show handled Trixie's redemption so horribly. And I also felt that it was out of character for Twilight to antagonize Trixie after latter attempted to show she'd reformed herself.
I actually love Starlight Glimmer, she's great and physically attractive! I even ship her with Sunburst, a gorgeous OTP along with Flash Sentry x Twilight Sparkle and SoarinDash.
