But, the one pony who knows Luna better than anyone else attempts to change her mind.

I loved the way you symbolized the depression using Nightmare Moon. As I was deeply depressed and very suicidal for about five years, this really hit me hard. Depression, and suicidal tendencies, really aren't you. Your mind is altered, physically as well if you look at research done, and it is not the true you. Symbolizing depression and suicidal tendencies as another pony was absolutely brilliant! I think that this story helps to explain how you really aren't yourself during these times, and you really need someone else to show you that.
Now, of course, I am positive I am overthinking and over analyzing this, but whatever!
I do think that the suicide scene was a bit short (I NEVER thought I would say that!), as the pacing was very fast. it could have used description, such as a possibility of fear, peacefulness, etc. Even physical descriptions, example: (This would be right after she closed her wings)
Once she did so, she could feel her body beginning to fall. The wind whipping past her face was exhilarating, if only her mind weren't filled with darkness. As she fell, she could see the castle come into view, and briefly thought about the time Celestia took care of all the duties when she was imprisoned on the moon. She knew Celestia could take care of everything without her, and would be glad she was finally gone. With this thought, she focused her gaze downward, seeing the city rapidly race up towards her. She could see the flat piece of concrete beneath her, the patio in the garden, where she had planned to target. Finally, before closing her eyes to await the end, she felt comfort. Comfort in knowing that Nightmare Moon would be gone, and that all of Equestria would no longer be harmed.
So, what do you think? And once again, amazing job!

Some might attack me for what I say next, but it needs to be said. Please do not take this the wrong way; I am NOT trying to force anything on ANYONE.
The demons that get inside us try to tell us we're no good, that we're worthless and can never get out from under them. We have to recognize our feelings, recognize what's inside, and trust that they can be delivered. Trusting in Christ and who we are in Him (Blessed, child of God, victorious over the enemy, and more) will lead us to victory over the evil that tries to rot us from within.
Overall, a decent story, and one with more than a hint of truth in it.

Of all the stories I've read of yours, I purposely chose this one to be my last. This is because the topic of "Taking One's Own Life" hits very close-to-home for me and such stories remind me of how I have had to overcome a lot of demons in order to become who I know and need to be.
The presentation of Luna and her thoughts are very spot on, from my own personal experiences along with those I hear from others, when it comes to reaching a point where you genuinely believe the world would be a better place without you. The lack of sleep, the mental trauma that seems to relentlessly scream inside your head, and that proverbial "Alter Ego" that is encouraging you to do it while only filling your head with more dire thoughts.
Many of us who have come close to taking our lives have also been in a position much like Luna put herself in to do it. The means is there, the ability to execute is there, but there is fortunately someone, or something, that does manage to snap us out of the darkness to see the light. In ths case, Celestia.
The sister-to-sister conversation was expertly executed, too. Luna may never have felt comfortable confiding in anyone her true feelings. However, Celestia gave her a safe outlet to do so. More importantly is you illustrated celestia as "Caring" and "Non-Judgmental". Those who contemplate suicide may tend to fear reprisal for having reached such a point, but you had Celestia serve as a gateway to let Luna know her feelings matter. Knowing her feelings can be shared is a great step towards ridding yourself of such negative emotions. Well done!
The dream where Luna sees her mother is also a wonderful touch. It's like confirmation that things will get better now that she has a positive outlet to work her feelings out through. Her mind will no longer be plagued by guilt and/or darkness now that she knows her mom is watching her in her dreams while Celestia is there for comfort during times she may feel the tug of Nightmare Moon becoming too strong.
I'd certainly recommend this story to anyone who may, or ever has, contemplated suicide. It shows how sharing your feelings is the primary path to freeing yourself of the shackles such thinking can place upon you. It's not an easy topic to deal with, but you give a great start for people to know that, no matter what, there are people out there who do care, will care, and would genuinely miss you if you ever were to opt out of your life.
