Lucky Dreams

I didn't choose the skux life, the skux life chose me. (Can also be found at luckydreamsart.tumblr.com!)

What joy, I've a treat for you:
A lovely warm dinner of Scootaloo stew.

It’s sweet and delicious,
I'm so sinfully kind.
I left in the hooves,
I hope you don’t mind.

With huge thanks to Bad Horse for pre-reading!

This whole thing was hilarious. And though I don't think I ever had anything like that with family, I believe there were stories about some summer camps . . .

Poetry was beautiful, and mostly read very smoothly, but I find myself stumbling over the last line in this stanza, where I can't make the second was fit:

Naughty girl was full of soda,
Full of fizz and full of cola.
She tried feeling sorry; tried feeling shame.
A great nasty BUUURP was instead was what came.

Try that.

Mmmmmmmm. Roast chicken. Yum.

6618454 Thank you so much for the nice comment. I'm glad you enjoyed it

6618736 Changed!

6618804 The taste is heavenly :scootangel:

6618865 It doesn't! It's just about Rainbow Dash winding her up :rainbowdetermined2:

6618865 just a-salt and deep-fried batter-y.

I can imagine Rainbow Dash doing this. :rainbowlaugh: Nice rhyming btw.

Beautiful. A pity that RD didn't have a chorus of Oompa-Loompas for the songs, though. And a top hat and bow tie.

6619002 Thanks! :pinkiehappy:

6620155 Unfortunately, they were all on their cigarette break, and the top hat and bow tie were still in Rainbow's luggage. Still! It's the thought that counts.

6621565 I love how Rainbow Dash messes with her.

Well, that was a certainly a thing what I did just read. @_@ My word.

It's like if Shel Silverstein wrote pony fiction. A wonderful bit of childhood terror. Thank you for it.

hilarious.
mother goose this dark would have been a treat

I don't like this despite it's oddity, I like this for it's oddity. You have a great knack for poetry. I'm definitely envious. )^3^(

This is very cute. I blame Bad Horse for bringing me here and somehow getting me to read it.

Rainbow coming up with rhymes on the spot seems a bit of a stretch for her character, but the story is great.

"Developed for television by Lauren Faust Shel Silverstein."

This was lovely and the poetry was cute and fun. And RD clearly planned this for a while (and isn't new to such shenanigans).:rainbowlaugh:

6622470 He got you too?

Ah, Bad Horse. He's one bad, bad - um, horse.

Good story! Lots of fun!

I'd like a bowl of Scootaloo Stew please!

6622115 Oh dear, I appear to have broken PresentPerfect. Someone help me put him back together again :derpytongue2:

6622401 And thank you very much for commenting on it!

6622435 In my head, Mother Goose is so much darker than it actually is in real life. Probably has something to do with the illustrations in my old copy of it -- they used to really freak me out. I wish I could find it again.

6622437 Apart from a few times in uni, I never used to read or write poetry very much before doing poni fanfiction. It's one of the things I'm most grateful for from this site -- I would never have had any incentive to try it out or keep going with it. So I'm glad you enjoyed it :raritystarry:

6622470 Yeah, I did wonder about that... honestly, I thought more people might call me out on it! I think it was the right decision in the end though.

6622474 I would so totally watch My Little Pony as developed by Shel Silverstein :raritystarry:

6622866 It's a shame I only thought about it after Halloween and not before. Maybe a sequel for next year?

6623169 I actually do this to my own younger siblings -- they think it's absolutely hysterical. They're violent little children, bless 'em.

6624258 Baddest horse that ever lived!

6624493 Nightmare Before Christmas? Oh man, I haven't seen that in soooooo long... I think a trip to Amazon is in order

6625404 Arrrg, all out sorry. Would Sweetie Belle soup be alright instead?

6625639 Okay then, make it sweet please!

6625667 YAY!!! SWEETIE BELLE STEW!!

6625639

I cannot link to the poem I want:
Poor Knighty would end up in Arkham.
But Google will give you the link that I can't
to The Devil and Billy Markham.

Not what I expected but it's hilareous.

I'm guessing Rainbow Dash has done this before :rainbowlaugh:

One of my new favorite Fan Fics

Definitely getting a Roald Dahl vibe from this, with just a dash of Shel Silverstein. Delightfully gruesome!

RD = Roald Dahl? :rainbowderp:

Gruesomely delightful!

Why can't you click the Like button more than once! :rainbowlaugh:

I'm just going to assume that RD stole the basic idea, then got some help from Zecora and Pinkie Pie.

Based on the description, I thought this was going to be a dark comedy that WOULD end with Scootaloo being turned into stew.
I'm SO glad I was wrong.

This is magnificent. Those rhymes remind me of the 'Little Willie' ones I read some time ago.

You know the type:

Willie poisoned father's tea,
He watched him die in agony.
Which prompted mother to ask, quite vexed;
'Really now, Will, what next?'

That was indeed some great dark comedy lol.
