Time it took to complete the story: 29/32 minutes (From 19:09 pm to 19:41 pm, Greenwich Mean Time, GMT, but the computer froze up from 19:37 to 19:40, with less than 50 words to go, so any words I mashed into the keyboard were ignored, just my luck, this one is up to interpretation!)

Idea from: Here (the 1/8/14 prompt, click it!)

Story Description: Who are Scootaloo's parents, and why did they abandoned her, well, you won't find out here! This story deals with her feelings of abandonment, and how she handles them.

Warning: ANGST, SADNESS, and SLICE OF LIFE (I guess), not for everyone! (It's rated Teen, after all)

Surprisingly enough, this was a pretty good little story.

with all the strength of a coursing river, yet mysterious as the dark side of the moon.

Mysterious as the dark side of the mooooooon!!

Oh, no, I exposed FIMfiction to my terrible singing!
Sorry everyone... :twilightblush:

It was a nice story, but the whole part starting with lyrics from Mulan and ending with referencing The Little Mermaid really took me out of the story and felt like it shouldn't be there at all. Ultimately, if you took that out, I would have enjoyed the story a lot more.

4785590 Well, I don't know what had gotten into me, I can say that when I write I have a playlist of over 30 songs from disney, and I was hearing the song "I'll make a man out of you" while writing that. It also serves as a bit of padding, the story is barely long enough to put it on here, if I removed that part it'd probably not reach the 1000 words.

At least I didn't pick my nirvana playlist or weird al, or something. It'd be a whole lot worse, with all the dubious content those artists had.

4785617 I just wish that there wasn't something as distracting in the story. It's not about the song, Disney is one of my favorite things ever! Just pretty jarring.

4785639 I tried to relate it to the story somehow, like "Hey have you noticed 99.9 percent of the disney heroes are orphans, and the ones who aren't have dickish parents?" I think somone like Scoots could really relate to that.

But it is jarring, I agree

4785647 I understand that part, it's just when you extended the reference it kinda got distracting XD

She does seem to relate~

4785667 Well you know, I had that whole paragraph before about how she despises Diamond for the way she treats her father.

Ariel does pretty much the same thing, and she still gets a happy ending! I don't hate the little mermaid, but you can see how that would annoy Scootaloo.

So many references:pinkiehappy::rainbowlaugh:
Great story. It seems all too possible for it to be made canon, and release it to the intended audience of the show.

I liked this story. Really got drawn in to Scootaloo's plight even though I have no equivalent experiences.
