You know, you would think that the orphanage would have someone standing on the other side of the door 24/7, just to catch the person that knocked before they had time to run away, because I'm sure that it wasn't the first time that a foal was dropped off in the same way. (just a thought...)
But I would also like to see this story expanded on from the comic, because it has such great potential to be so much more than just the comic without the pictures.

It was great but I hope your are going to do more with this story as well. Because I am really wondering if scoots is ever going to find out that Fluttershy is her mother and also wondering if rainbow knows that Fluttershy is the mother of scoots or not as well. Hope you continue this to find out the answer to these question. Also this really a great fic that was great to read too.

Consider the implications if that practice became known: they'd end up making parents who wished to put a child up for adoption anonymously unable to do so, which could lead to far worse alternatives. And what good would come of doing so, just to unmask those who might wish anonymity? What's to be gained?

3362818 I think they would understand that sometimes the mother (or father in some cases) just can't afford to take care of the child or there's some other reason. If the decision's been made, I don't see how someone being there could help.
Wow... I can actually remotely relate to Flutters here. I used to have many dreams that one man I'd never met before always showed up in. One dream, I had a child, and he was the father. I didn't know what my family would think of me, but he was always there. I hope, someday, I meet a man like him. Although those dreams didn't turn up in reality, they stirred up a lot of mystery in me.
I can't wait to find out who the father is.

Amazing. I knew Fluttershy would make a great mom, but Scootaloo???? Scootaloo is nothing like Fluttershy! That's one of the reasons I love this story. It adds mystery to who the father might be.

Thank you, though, that wasn't the original artist, he said so in his description. But he did link to the original artist at least, so it's all good, just look out for things like that in the future.
Sad Fluttershy is one of the worst things in the world, and you just did it. You...you MONSTER!
Anyways, I thought this was great. The build up was pretty emotional, and that flashback after the Crusaders arrived on her doorstep was just so....
However, I do think that that ending was a little abrupt. If you'd just gone on just a tad longer I'd love the story even more.

My only complaint is that the conversation between Fluttershy and Scoots seemed somewhat lacking. Scoots just says she has weak wings, Fluttershy tells her that she has weak wings too and that she and Rainbow will help her out. I feel like it could have used more substance. Like Scoots voicing her dissatisfaction with herself and her wings, worrying that she's disappointing Rainbow, something like that.
And I've really been wondering whether or not Rainbow knows that Scoots is Fluttershy's daughter. As it is, it could go either way. You never mentioned Rainbow being around when Fluttershy had Scoots, but I'd think that she would have at least gone to visit her friend after she gave birth. Either way, it should be interesting when it all comes out.
