This story is a sequel to Blood Moon
It's been two and a half years since the battle between Celestia and Luna took place. So bloody and fierce, but never written into Equestria's history. Twilight however, saw something amazing in that clash of these celestial titans:
A whole new sky had been created from the destruction.
Twilight, so entranced by it, recreated it, only making a few changes to it. She shared it with the citizens, who fell in love with Twilight's newest and greatest form of magic and art. Celestia however, disapproves of this creation, and in doing so, has begun the birth of one of Equestria's greatest enemies that it will ever know.

why isw it that everyone thinks twilight could so easily take or overpower celestia? face it, she is not nearly as powerful as celsetia, nor could she possibly outsmart her as well. celestia has fifteen years at least for every one tiwlight has lived.

She wasn't able to defeat nor revert Nightmare Moon back into Luna, and she was defeated by Chrysalis. And while she used to be able to use the Elements of Harmony, she states in an episode that she is no longer able to wield them. Wouldn't it seem a little bit possible, that her powers are starting to burn out??

Chrysalis herself admitted, the god damn character herself admitted, she only managed to overpower celestia because of the amount of love she got from shining armor. and considering the fact they feed on it, she is likely incapable of maintaining that level of power to begin with as she could not naturally retain it and would 'digest' that energy. and in part i also think that she was lucky she did not know, as it is clear that chrysalis is very magically inexperienced too as the comics reveal; tiwlight as a unicorn managed to overpower her despite her being more powerful in raw strength.
she could not use the elements because they were never meant to be used by one being to begin with. in fact it is clear that they were not nearly as powerful with the regal sisters as they are with the mane six; for example they could only bind discord, and the mane six could reverse his damage. even if you made celestai twice as powerful as she ever was she still could not wield the elements alone.
also the power of the regal sisters are close to one another's. it is obvious that if one was given a boost they would have the advantage. \
and with the elements, it is because they passed on to another host, the mane six. that is why the seal on discord broke down; the passing of the torch weakening the work of the last carriers.
absolutely none of these examples even make sense or could even relate to her becoming weaker. in addition she is much older, more experienced, and more magically skilled than twilight. just because the show does not allow us to see what celestia is truly capable of does not mean she is somehow weaker than the green as grass alicorn.
it is simply logic and common sense that celestia is much more powerful than twilight is in most ways. with her friends perhaps she could defeat celestia, but if she turned of her without provocation and became evil she would be left alone against a stronger, more experienced, and more magically knowledgeable alicorn than herself.
4261031 if you want proof of how powerful celestia is, just look at the setting. all alone celestia has kept her kingdom together despite the presence of pwoerful demons, enemy states, and eldritch things populating her world. think a few hiccups are at least forgivable considering centuries of work.
unless you think it is more likely that nothing EVER happened for a thousand years in a world with that many monsters in it.
4261039 EvenTide is just another word for twilight. Its just the time frame where the sun starts to set and the moon starts to rise, and vice versa in the morning. And if you think about it, you hardly ever see dusk or.dawn in the story. Just Day and Night, and that is one of the issues for Twilight in this series (if I plan to make another story after this).

4261118 (Before I begin my rant let it be known that this not about the difference in experience between Twilight and Celestia.) I think your forgetting to look at Twilight's potential. There is also the fact that Twilight doesn't think that she is all that special or powerful. I like to call this the 'superman syndrome'. Superman's battle with his own identity and constant refusal to accept what he really was gave him mental barriers that prevented him from unlocking his potential. Only by accepting that he was different and embracing who he really is did he become the true superman. Twilight is in a similar situation. She dose not think she is special or powerful or important. Twilight also struggles with her identity as a alicorn/princess. As such she also has mental barriers that block her from her true potential. Just look at how she got her cutie mark. The amount of uncontrolled raw power she released caused enough chaos to give Discord an orgasm. Even when Celestia managed to snap her out of it, Twilight didn't even look exhausted. Yet in the episode "Magic Dual" Twilight wasn't able to do an age spell. A spell she said is reserved for only the most powerful and talented unicorns. A SPELL SHE EFFORTLESSLY USED ON SPIKE DURING HER POWER SURGE WHEN SHE GOT HER CUTIE MARK. My point is that if Twilight would embrace what and who she is and fully and truly accept that she is different, she would unlock her true potential. I believe that at her strongest Twilight would be just as strong as Celestia or at least strong enough to be a serious treat to her.
We live and die by the tyranny of the sun. Give us back real tyranny, not your fake Twilight tyranny.
I will just point out that other then people standing in her way; Twilight has been a good head of state. Also people loved the "New Sky" and Celestia wanted to take it away. Twilight took down Celestia for the ponies. Maybe Twilight is over reacting, but now the Mare 5 are aiding someone found guilty of going ageist the people's wishes.

Let me enter the fray by stating Celestia isn't actually all that powerful. Sure, she can control the sun, which would require tremendous power beyond that of a unicorn, but as far as alicorns go, she's a baby. Thus far, we have not seen a connection between the sun and Celestia's power beyond levitation. Luna and Cadence are more powerful than Celestia, then. However, Twilight, being Magic itself, has the reserve and the raw power to not only overpower Celestia, but also Luna, Cadence, Discord, and any other magic in Equestria alone, minus Rainbow Power. The caveat to her skills resides in her desperate need for friends to achieve anything close to maximum potential - and it is a BIG caveat. Look where Twilight was before her friends. She was locked up in a library and, although her talent was magic, she could barely teleport. Her most powerful skill was levitation. In the time that she has been in Ponyville, her power has exploded. I propose that if she would go back on her friendships, as she seems to have done here, that her power would, in fact, never be realized and may even recede. Her cutie mark - a large, six-pointed star surrounded by five identical white stars - is indicative of this failsafe to me. Without her friends, she is average.
