Pretty good I guess

I have a question, how is Rumble part of this story ?

The history is perfectly sound, and Sol Invictus was a large part of the pantheon of the gods at this time! :pinkiehappy:

Hurray for having no life! :derpytongue2:

Interesting I would like to see more.

You...you did your history homework...

...but...all the ponies are human? Or is Maximus going to be a human in a pony world? I'm a bit confused about that.

This I Like!! :D

This is a fully humanized story. All characters are humans. Except Gummy. Gummy will still be an alligator.

Rumble comes in much later. Though I can't tell you much, I can say that he will play a large role in Maximus' life.

This is actually doing a lot better than my other fan-fics. I wonder why.

3811947 Oh...I'm a little disappointed, but I'll keep reading anyways.

Just because you have an extensive knowledge of history doesn't mean you have no life. It means you understand the lives of others that came before you. :ajsmug:

I'm glad I decided to follow this story. Intriguing first chapter.

I just hope Lauren doesn't read this...:pinkiecrazy:

Not sure to understand if this story is anthro or not, if so the tag is missing. Will see if the rest of the story hold with the good premises

Excellent.
I really like how you portrayed Sol in this chapter.

As an emotional being susceptible to fits of rage just as the Romans portrayed their gods!

Excellent.

ok so im a HUGE Romen fan so I love this off the bat but the careters, the plot, the way this is writein' is all so perfect!:yay:
the only thing i could ask for from this is...well..i dont know...a little..CLOP!!!:moustache:

I can't wait to see more of this! You're combining two of my loves; Ancient Rome, and MLP! I swear I wiggled in my seat a bit when I saw this was updated! I normally don't comment on stories, but I had to say something here. It's so hard to come by a good HiE story anymore, but this one is shaping up to be a good one. Please sir, can I have some more?

YES! THE UPDATE!

Though you could write longer chapters... still WOO HOO!

Where is ze update.

He pressed the steel

At this time, steel was not used, only iron was available.

I'm getting a bit of a Mary-Su vibe from Maximus.

4384444 My sources indicate otherwise. However, I will still check them.

And please, for the love of fuck, can you please explain what a Mary-Sue is? I have about 12 definitions and I can't find anyone that can give me a straight answer without going off topic.

4384444 I have found that the gladius was in fact made of steel. Specifically, Toledo, or Spanish, steel.

IT LIVES! (Insert evil cackle here)!:pinkiecrazy::pinkiehappy:

Very nice! I look forward to the next chapter, this looks like it will be interesting.

Keep up the good work

Oh jesus, imagine if they did have steel?

I think the freaking Velites would be given armour

Gary-stu

And I think he's a fictional demi-god. I mean, Sol Invictus. Sol FUCKING Invictus is crying over him leaving... Soldier heaven I guess?

6143605 Yep I'm not sure where the author got the information about steel in that era. It's called the iron age for a reason -_-

6143605 imagine a full cohort armed with steel tower shields and blades marching in testudo formation towards a group of gaulish foes, how they would feel seeing their arrows and blades either shattering against the metal or skittering off of it and then the Romans are upon them. (Playing as Carthage in total war rome 2, I'm thankful this wouldn't happen. Though it will be funny because one of my armies is nothing but what the carthiginians are famous for.... elephants.)

Reading this made me think of the quote from a dreadnought in warhammer "EVEN IN DEATH I SERVE!!!"

Can' you do more please

NOOO, it was so good. This is why i hate reading incomplete stories

Maximus' mother, once again, with not a tear in her eye, embraced her son in a loving hug. "Cum in eam clypeus." his mother said as she looked into her son's blue orbs.

Umm...wrong group.

'With your shield or on it.'

Yeah...that’s Sparta.

"I love you too, Spike." Twilight's fears and worries seemed to become a little bit distant to her as she held her little brother close. "Please don't ever leave me."

Uh oh...

"Never." Spike said as he smiled.

Oh no...thousands upon thousands of books and stories I have read. I see this exchange, and most of the time...well, you can guess. We shall see what the future holds.

Well, this story hasn't been updated in a while, but I'm hooked! I do hope you'll update this story again in the near future!
