Well, it depends. the term Original Character means that the person writing made them up, from their looks to their personality. It wouldn't be an OC if there is no originality. That doesn't mean that an Alicorn OC isn't an OC. Are Alicorn OC's overrated? Most definitely. Are they Original? They can be. Just don't make them 'badass' for the sake of having them badass.
