It just did not fit with their characters for me. As well as it not fitting into Lightning Dash's character. Like, literally, Lightning Dash never gets married. He dies in the embrace of his family and friends. So, there's a little bit of lore from the extended canon for you.

Aww, poor Silverplate's gonna get his heart crushed. Oh well, he does seem a little too 'high class,' and certainly not the good kind. Could get better, though.
The potential implications of this particular line are staggering and, more than anything else, suggest a significant backstory. My interest has suddenly been piqued.
This chapter was interesting, for certain, and I like the feeling that each chapter was told from a different perspective with a very different style. It really made each character stand out. It was also interesting to see such very different types of relationships shown in a single family, including AJ's and Rarity's.
Even so, I'm a little disappointed. For a story entitled "The Legend of the Shotgun," there wasn't much about said legend or shotgun at all. I feel like the title was randomly slapped on without consideration for the story's material. You took this in an entirely different direction from what the beginning of the story led me to expect. That can work with a proper setup, but it didn't work at all here.
Still, the material was interesting and I enjoyed it in the overall.

I admit the title is a bit too... Underwhelming. However, I was gonna have a four part epilogue that tied the stories in their conclusions. And AJ was gonna go into the cellar and spend some quality time with her gun. Perhaps I was going to have her talk to it while she cleaned it, telling her about what happened between storm and opal, Paz and silver, etc.
But I never got around to writing it. Maybe on the one year anniversary of this story or something.
I must be reading too much pony-fiction, because even after the earlier mention of a critter jumping out at him, when I read the word frog here, my mind went straight to the fleshy inside part of pony's hoof. Also, for a moment or two, I forgot who Silver was supposed to be there for, he was paying so much attention to Jasper.
