She brings along Flash Sentry as her bodyguard, although her real intention is to hook him up with her sister-in-law.

This a good story, but it reads more like an opening than a one shot. Perhaps you could turn it into a short story where Twilight discovers how similar this Flash Sentry is to the one she met.
I agree that this is a good start, but you should develop this more into a short story like FleetlordAvatar said. This is very good for your first story here on Fimfiction.net. Don't worry about the downvotes, those are most likely from Equestria Girl haters. Keep going with this no matter what.

Not a bad little short scene. I got nothing against FlashLight shipping and this was a nice tame awkward moment. I was actually hoping for a little more.

I've seen Equestria Girls, and I liked it. The downvotes are not genuine, just some haters going around saying, "that's EG, so it must be horrible." or, "Flash Sentry? For f**k's sake."

And about Flash: first of all, his appearance in the episode was more or less a cameo, and he didn't contribute to the overall plot of the episode.
