This reminded me of this time where a mother brought a death metal band to court because she claimed that there were subliminal messages in their songs telling the people listening to kill themselves, and then she went all around the USA telling as many people as possible that it was after after they disproved it in the trial.
I think the reason this didn't have the....whatever the hell you were aiming for because it didn't seem personal. The evil could have been talking to anyone or at least that's how it seems to me.

Wasn't very impressed, though. It felt more like Cupcakes than any sort of sophisticated horror after Vinyl started with the knife.
This is why I only mess with rap music, not a lot of hidden messages. They tell you right off the bat to sell/do drugs, fuck females, get money, and take out snitches.

I suppose this was supposed to be a look into the thought process behind cutters. I never understood the idea. To me, it's simple weakness that can be purged through strength of will. That's pretty much how I feel about the entire thing. Though it is fiction, I still feel that proper strength of will is all that is needed to face such evil and grin.

No, it's not. Violence and suffering with reason behind it is powerful, emotional, tragic.
Violence and suffering because lolgore is dumb, even more so when it comes off as mean-spirited. Vinyl suffered so much, and then is apparently damned to eternal suffering... why? If she performed some transgression, or did something horrible, then okay, I get it. But to suffer that fate because you listened to a CD?

I hope I'm not coming across as mean or spiteful. I'm just giving my opinion.

Like I said above, it's not badly done. Hell, even the gore bits are handled very well. MY issue is just the senselessness of it. I don;t mind ponies dying. Hell, I write stories about serial killers! But there has to be SOME kind of logic behind it. A REASON why this pony is suffering. Especially when you have a tragic end like you do. It comes off as mean and pointless. It evoke an emotion, yes, but not the way you want.
Basically, if you're not going to have a firm reason why Vinyl deserves this, don;t have such a fuck it all ending.
But, that's only my opinion. It made the Box, so people must like it. Feel free to ignore me. DOn;t let some random asshole in a brown hat make you doubt yourself too much.

i think i agree with you on a lot of what you said
this is the emotional equivalent of a friday the thirteenth sequel
but it was fun to write and fun to reread
also if you're ever interested in adding your opinion to one of my other stories
i'm always looking for editors and i like people who give me negative reviews
when everyone else is mindlessly raving about how great my shit is
it can be irritating sometimes, but it usually works out for the best
so i'd love for you to edit something of mine in the future
